Thea sighed as she inserted the master key into Nethis' personal chamber and unlocked it with a twist of her wrist. After a soft 'clink' met her ears, she scanned her surroundings to ensure no one was around before snaking herself through the small crack of the oak doors and gently closingg them shut behind her back. Even though she was a grown woman, Thea still felt a gnawing sense of intimidation towards her big sister, despite her being just a thought of the mind right now as the eldest Thanasi was currently voyaging in Taengea.
Breathing a trembling sigh out from her nose, Thea then swept the tidied room for the object of her risky quest today. A small rustic safe, which used to be a possession of Dionysios before he started degrading mentally to the senile husk of a man. From the memories of her childhood, it would always sit neatly behind his desk in the study room under the guise of a book and decor display shelf. Had she not been peeping in on him during one of his private mentoring sessions with Nethis, he would have never seen the thing being opened up from the back to reveal a void in which he kept personal belongings.
Luckily for her, Nethis was also as comfortable as their father in not going to the extremes to hide the safe. She probably assumed that it was too plain-looking to garner any attention and just stashed it inside her walk-in closet. While the two were packing together for Nethis' trip to Taengea, Thea laid eyes on the item when her sister briefly opened her wardrobe wide to gather some clothes.
Ever since, the little wooden object had plagued her mind. After it dissappeared, she did wonder for a while where it went. But seeing how no one acted any differently, she thought it just got relocated somewhere more hidden, knowing how paranoid her father was. It was in Nethis' hands all this time though, and the gods knew how curious she was when it came to the secretive Thanasi she called 'big sister'.
With shaking fingers, Thea pulled the door of the walk-in closet open and slipped in. Right before her eyes, the safe sat toyingly under its facade as a normal shelf. As quietly as she could, the blackette dragged the piece of furniture sideway to expose its back. In great anticipation, she opened the hollow back to reveal...
