Emilia grew thoughtful, Lesley's words hitting a chord within her. The more she spoke with him, the more she found the words of Elias - of most of the nobility really - to be false. So what if someone has not had a proper education or upbringing? Lesley was well proof that one did not need a tutor to still be insightful and wise. At the very least, Emilia was genuinely taking his words to heart, and considering them. They were true afterall, and made much sense to the confused princess.
Chuckling when he blatantly, very confidently stated his abilities, Emilia's hazel gaze flickered to him indulgently, and for a moment, it was as if the roles were switched as she patted his hand. "Of course you can, Lesley. I do not doubt you one bit." Emilia murmured, biting back a laugh. To a certain extent, it was true of course. There was a reason why she had asked her aunt to hire Lesley as her bodyguard, and so far, he had done a stupendous job. But she was no longer a dreamer, at least not for now. If another insurgent attack happened, there was no one one guard was enough for protection, not when she had half a dozen the last time and all of them were sacrificed. Numbers mattered.
Her brows were raised when Lesley revealed he had served Lord Pavlos. Emilia herself did not fancy the old man and his stuffy ways, especially when he fathered the slimy being that was Rafail... but in a way, he does have Athenia's best interests. As it was, Elias was already proving himself slightly incapable. Is there wrong with testing out someone else? They weren't going to lose anything afterall.
That decision however, would require some long thinking, and for that matter, Emilia would sleep on it before deciding. Not something to be decided overnight, as they approached and arrived at the carriage, Emilia took in one long, deep breath of the breeze, before waiting for the maid's to open the carriage door. "I'll think on it, Lesley. It isn't wrong, but... I guess I'll have to start considering consequences now, do I not?" she murmured with a wry chuckle. It was dry humor, but necessary. Emilia had never been one to consider consequences - that had always been Persephone's job.
But Persephone wasn't here.
With another heavy sigh, if one were to look at the brunette princess now, they would think she had the weight of the world on her shoulders as she climbed in the carriage, looking far older then her newly-turned seventeen years of age. She settled in, gave one last look at the open skies, and then gave her bodyguard a small smile. "Let's go back then. I'm tired." In a weary tone, Emilia merely leaned back, and closed her eyes as she allowed the rest of the process to be completed by others.
She was just tired.
