Hasani's entire body was tense with silent, seething anger toward his wife. It was so easy to lose his temper, but even easier to keep it. It was unlike him to lose it, and he was less angry with Neena than he was the situation that she had gotten herself into. Truthfully, he only wanted to tan her hide because she had found trouble when it would have been so much easier to just stay within the confines of their own camp. True, there were other gesins about to observe and to find oneself curious about, but that meant little when it meant keeping yourself safe and guarded.
And he had clearly not kept his wife safe enough if she'd been running for her life from irritated Buuchu. Still tempted to turn right back around and march up to the younger of his two wives so that he could truly give her a piece of his mind, the leier instead motioned Mwenye ahead of him, his dark gaze narrowed into a sour expression.
"Finding reason for the behavior will be something that both you and I will attend to, prophet," was all that Hasani said, starting to stalk off in the direction of the Buuchu camp. It was easy to keep them on the path through their own territory first so that they would find little more trouble by way of irritable tribesmen. Gritting his teeth, Hasani simply huffed at his friend under his breath, his brows furrowed deeply. "It is not an undertaking that you will do alone. I am leier and we will find out what set them after my wife together," he said a little more patiently than he had felt a few minutes before.
As a small group of Zaire warriors passed them, Hasani snapped his fingers at them and motioned them back toward his tent. "Ensure that Neena does not leave our territory until I return. The leierin, either, though I suspect she is not so curious as to find herself trouble," the man rumbled, taking fast steps in the direction of the other tribe's camp border. It was not so rare for a leier to request the company of another leier, especially when tensions were running so high. But it would be the best course of action in order to get to the bottom of things as quickly and efficiently as possible. Of that, Hasani was sure.
