Osorsen tucked the dead fish at the back of the wardrobe and dropped a few pieces of clothing on top of it, giving the creature the opportunity to let its scent really permeate the fabric around it. After this he would have to send a bouquet of flowers to Nefertari in order to make up for his actions, but this distraction had been incredibly enjoyable. And, as Nia looked up at him through those dark lashes he had reason to hope it might be well worth the efforts as well.
Her arms about his neck in the privacy of the room were giving him far too many ideas about how best to take up their remaining time, but he knew she was right. Someone would have noticed them gone, and if the slave had run off to tattle they had even less time than he had hoped. Still, for the kiss she gave him he felt satisfied that the payment had been acceptable. As beautiful as she was, he would have been happy to follow her into a dark corner to distract themselves further, but she had shown that she had better than just physical traits for distraction. It was rare he could actually come away from one of these events and say he had fun, and it was thanks to Nia that he could.
"I doubt I'll have much need of that, but if I ever wish to play a trick on someone you'll be the first I go to." Oso teased her right back, her hand in his as he peeked out of the room to make sure no one was coming to see which room they left. The coast was clear and he kept his hand in hers, casually swinging it as they returned to the party though he let go after a final squeeze when they came back to the main room.
"Thank you for the tour, Lady Neithotep." His voice projected somewhat so that anyone trying to eavesdrop might have satisfaction to answer their question. Let them assume what they wanted, they would anyway. Oso gave a bow with a grin for her alone before straightening. Enough time had passed that he could probably make his escape without offending anyone, but if Nia wanted his company for any longer he knew he would end up staying still. "Well, good luck then. Shall I stay by your side just in case our friends are discovered, or would it be better if I hurry away to avoid suspicion?"

‘I doubt I'll have much need of that, but if I ever wish to play a trick on someone you'll be the first I go to.’
Nia couldn’t help but grin at that, a soft giggle parting her lips. “You be sure to do so,” she replied, her amusement clear in the warmth of her tone. If there was anything Nia was always up for, it was mischief. And the chance to do it with such a handsome man? How could she ever say no? “I would never even think to refuse you.”
Hand in hand, they walked through the hall and down the stairs back to the party, the perfect picture of demure innocence. Let whoever they passed think what they wish; Nia could not deny her reputation was well-earned, and she held no shame in that. She certainly wouldn’t care if someone thought she bedded the Sirdar. There were far worse options she could have taken.
Her grin only broadened as he loudly thanked her for the tour of the house, covering a laugh behind one hand. She returned his bow with a curtsy of her own, replying in the same tone, “The pleasure was all mine, Sirdar Osorsen.” At his offer to remain with her, she shook her head as her grin faded to a softer smile. “Don’t get yourself into trouble on my account, my lord,” she insisted with a wink. “I’m already a known troublemaker. You don’t need to turn yourself into one, too. Can’t have that kind of gossip going around Court, now can we?”
Taking a step closer, she brushed her lips against his cheek, murmuring in his ear, “Make trouble with me another time instead. There will be other parties to escape, I’m sure.”
Pulling back, she fluttered her fingers at him in a farewell, dark eyes sparkling with mirth. “Until next time, my lord. Don’t hide any frogs without me.”
Turning away from him, she traipsed back to the party with a wicked grin, impatient for the moment Nefertaari would make her discovery. When she saw her sister was no longer present in the festivities, she started laughing, drawing the confused attention of some of the attendees around her. It wasn’t long before she heard the shout coming from up the stairs, Nia snickering and making a beeline for the front door. Ah, well. If Nef wanted to revenge, she was just going to have to come find her.
