The sun was shining bright in the sky, the god Apollo high above the land that showed off the lush green mountain side in a way that would tempt anyone to come and play. With the flowers in bloom, anyone would think that Pan was having fun with creating more in the wilds of the woods, a call that would sing to the hearts of those that loved to run free. Athanasia felt that call as she looked out the window longingly as her eyes took everything and seeing the random fluffy white clouds that danced in the blue sky. How could anyone stay inside on a day like this? Lost in a day dream, Asia jumped with her tutor slapped her table to catch her attention again. "Again, recite the importance of the senate and what uses it has even as your family is the royals in charge over all?"
If Asia could snarl at her tutor, she would have, but since the day that her father caught her escaping, she learned that if she was nicer that maybe her teachers wouldn't betray her to getting in trouble. With a look that wasn't her usual angry face, she recited "The senate is important so everyone can be heard if they have an issue with something and it is not completely on my father's shoulders." Seeing the look of approval, her tutor smiled before he turned his back to her in his search to find something on his desk, Asia saw her chance. Making sure to not make a sound as she slipped from her chair, Asia tiptoed her way to the door as she listened to the papers shuffle around from her teacher's search. It was now or never, the moment her foot passed the threshold, Asia broke into a run as she bolted down the hallway as fast as her little legs could carry her.
Athanasia heard the shout behind her, yelling for her to come back when it was noticed that she had snuck out, she let out a laugh since she was to far for the old man to catch up with her. She was free, no longer in that stuffy room with all those books, Asia immediately went in search of her brothers. Hallways surrounded her, one after the other, broken up with doors rushing passed her in her sprint and a window here and there to remind her of the beautiful day outside. Maybe they were outside? Avoiding the windows she escaped from before to keep everyone wondering, Asia headed towards the back store rooms, knowing no one usually hangs out there. So with less of a chance to get caught, Asia headed to her window of choice. Luckily with time came experience as she took off her longer toga to uncover the shorter toga that the guys often wore, knowing that her longer one would catch on everything. Now ready, Asia made a leap and started to climb, not even looking around first as she did so.

Nearing the end of their one week stay in Colchis before they left again to return to their military outpost on the Kirakles Isles, Nike had had ample time to familiarize herself with the outlay of the Kotas mansion, enough to ensure that she was capable of carrying out her new duties as the crown prince's personal bodyguard well without any slip ups.
Having taken the afternoon off so she could head to her small hut she called her home within the city whenever she was back from campaigns, Nike had just returned to the residence of the royal family to resume her duties, she would go round the outer pathways to head to the back rooms to slip in through the servant's entrance. Just as Nike lay her hands on the doorknob however, a sudden figure caught the corner of her eye, and the twenty four year old diverted her gaze to the figure scaling down the wall.
The long hair... along with the stories which Vangelis has told her as they trained in the mornings, left Nike no doubt who it was when she noticed the fine manner her chiton was made. And someone of her rank should in no way be climbing out of windows.
Her decision quickly made, the commander of the Red Knights was quick to jog over, her tunic and pants making it easy for her to eat up the distance. Positioning herself to stand right beneath should anything untoward happen, Nike looked up, shading her eyes from the sun. "Princess Athanasia, I... don't think your parents or brothers would be happy to see you this way?" the commander spoke out loud to make her presence known.

With each foot placement as she climbed, freedom felt that much closer. With the warm breezy now blowing through her hair, the shorter outfit feeling freeing at the promise of ease as she moved, Asia was glad she made the decision to wear it. Almost to the ground the sound of a voice surprised her as they called out, commenting on her parents or brother, and startled her enough that she let go of the wall with a yelp. For a moment, she was weightless as she flew through the air, almost as if time itself stopped just long enough for her to curse herself before the ground met her. Quickly.
As she landed with a loud thump, Asia let out a snarl as she glared up at whoever it was that surprised her, squinting as the sun shown behind them. "Just who do you think you are, scaring someone like that?" Getting up on her feet easily, Asia dusted herself off and made sure everything was where it should be and that she hadn't lost her dagger that her father had given her. "As for my parents, what they don't know wont hurt them. My brothers, I am off to go see them, thank you very much." Moving to the bush that was near her window, Asia pulled out her bow that she hid there, placing it over her shoulders before moving her quiver of arrows into its proper place aswell. "Now if you will excuse me.." Athanasia moved as if to leave the conversation, hoping the soldier will move with her before she could turn and make a bolt for the forests.

It wasn't new, apparently. From what she had heard upon her first day being in the Kotas residence at her briefing by the head of security in the residences, the princess was known for her escapades, and all the guards had always kept an eye out for her.
In a way however, Nike knew how she felt. She was constricted too, albeit not like Athanasia was. Instead, the girl was constricted by the lot life had doled her, and the path she had chosen to be as safe as she can be back when she had arrived in Colchis at the tender age of twelve. Constricted by the image she had presented to others as the tough and versatile Commander Nike, she could no longer indulge in her more frivolous notions - that meant death for her, at this point of her life, and her lie.
Wincing as she fell, Nike jogged over to where the princess had fallen, a properly apologetic look on her face as she heard the snarl of the feral teen princess. "I give my deepest apologies, Princess. I did not mean to give you a fright." Immediately, the apology flew out from her, as the fall must have hurt, if not injured the princess. Luckily, Nike sighed when she got on her feet and dusted herself, a sure sign that there was no lasting damage.
Hearing her intentions, Nike raised her brow. As far as she knew, her general and the princess's eldest brother, was with his parents. Zanon, the second one and a prince that Nike was fairly close to, seeing as he was getting himself into scrapes that Nike fished him out of, was off seeing his latest conquest. Prince Yiannis and Prince Silas were both with their military units, and as such were not in residence. As part of the guard, Nike made it her business to know their locations - besides, it was only because Vangelis was with his parents that Nike had saw it safe to leave his side, since the monarch's had their own retinue of guards who would see to her general's safety.
"Prince Vangelis is with your parents on business matters. Your other three brothers are not in residence." her eyes fell on the bow and arrows the princess pulled out, and a spark of amusement lit in her eyes. While Nike knew it was probably a futile manner to drag the princess back, the least she could do was ensure no harm came to her. "But perhaps... If you wouldn't mind princess, I could escort you, to wherever it is you seek to go?" the commander bowed at her waist at the princess, extending a hand to her with palms facing upwards.
If nothing at all, Nike proved to be a dashing male, even if she was only posing as one. With the chiselled jaw and combed back hair, her smile was a practiced one of charm, as the slight tease in her eyes as she waited for Athanasia's response. "Tis my duty to see you safe, and no harm shall befall upon you while you go on the adventure you seek, my princess."

Athanasia was playing off that she knew where all her brothers were at that moment, having thought that no one would question if she said that she would go out to meet them. Hearing the soldier's comments about not meaning to give her a fright, Asia couldn't stop the eye roll that would have many teens in any time proud. "So you just happened to show up all quiet, and then talk randomly to unsuspecting people without wanting to startle them?"
Claiming her hidden bow and quiver, Asia had full intentions of running through the woods, sure that her parents wouldn't mind too much if she was able to bring home a deer. Just as she was about to make her move, the soldier commented on knowing just where her brothers where at that moment, and knew that it wasn't to meet with her. Seeing his amusement at her bow and arrows, a thought flashed across Asia's mind that had her scowling, "If you think I cant shoot this as good as any boy, I will be glad to use you for target practice to prove that I am just as good. In fact, I am better than just about any man, with my bow." She didn't mention on how Zenon still beat her in practice, but that was her brother, as far as anyone knew, she let him win.
Watching as the man bowed to her, offering to escort her, Athanasia arched a brow at him. Why would he even offer that? Watching as he smiled, she wondered who he was, remembering seeing him from time to time when Vangelis was home. "Who are you?" Asia was used to men trying to charm her, it was easy to ignore now since she learned early that most only tried because she was the princess and wanted her favor. It was one of the things that had her turn away so many suitors that her parents have tried to set up for her, sending them away screaming usually. Atleast the last one left uninjured, much to her credit, even as her parents disapproved and her brothers looked like they wanted to laugh.

The displayed show of teenage rebellion was in a way nostalgic to Nike. She had seen a multitude of them in her military camp, with stubborn ego that had either been trained or beaten out of them by herself or her general. Most young upstarts who joined as new trainees had swagger that would've gotten them killed on the battlefield, and it was something that necessited harsh training. But on the princess, it wasn't something that can be trained.
Luckily, years of training idiots to not die on the battlefield had been enough to train Nike's patience.
The woman laughed, shaking her head to Athanasia's query. "I was not quiet - you were simply very focused on climbing down. Which, might I add, was spectacular. It is no wonder everyone keeps an extra eye out for the safety of you, my princess. Tis a great skill to have." Nike praised, a twinkle in her eye signifying her genuine compliment.
Surprised at how defiant she was, in a way Nike had to say she could see where it came from. In a family of four boys, it was no doubt that Athanasia was not only overprotected, but probably felt she had something to prove to her elder brothers. Knowing the feeling, since she herself has had to grow up proving her worth as a man of equal value to other males in her regiment, Nike shook her head. "I never thought of that, my princess. In fact, I am of better skill with a dagger then I am with a bow and arrow, so you likely surpass me in that aspect. However, I do suspect you may need help in lugging your catch back since I'm sure you'll be able to target a large kill. Perhaps I can offer my assistance there?"
Watching the wary gaze the princess offered, Nike did not retract her hand, and instead kept it palm facing upwards as she introduced herself. "Commander Nike of Acaris, Crown Prince Vangelis's personal bodyguard. I would not be here for long but while I am, I want nothing more then to watch over your safety whenever I can, my princess." She flickered her gaze towards the stables, and then back at Athanasia. "Now to hunt, we'll need horses. Would you like me to ready your steed for you?"

At the praise of how well she climbed down, a feeling of smug pride filled her as the image of her family getting annoyed with her escapes flashed across her mind. She didn't necessarily like annoying them, but she didn't like being in a gilded cage either. So she escaped it every single time she could. This new soldier found ways to annoy Asia though even as he was trying to be charming as well while he pointed out that he knew just where her brothers were at that moment. After finding her arrows and bow, seeing the man look of amusement at them, had her snapping her ire. So used to being judged, that his comment caught her off guard. “You want to help me?” It was all she could ask for a moment as the surprise filled her at the comment that he was sure she would be better than he was with her bow.
It only took a moment for the dagger comment to sink in. “I just received a dagger, from my father. Not sure how to use it other than to stick with the pointy end.” Eyeing him, judging if she could even trust him to not just turn her in, Asia dares to ask him if he would be willing to teach even as she offers her suggestion to compensate. “If you teach me on how to use it in a fight, I will teach you how to shoot with a bow. If you are willing to, that is? Otherwise, I will learn on my own.” The last part of her comment was to prove that she taught herself on how to shoot her bow, watching Zanon shoot and mimicking his moves until he took pity on her one day and helped out anyway. After the offer to escort her, even carrying any of their prey back, Athanasia wondered just who this soldier was and had to ask. “Commander Nike, Vangelis's bodyguard. Of course you are, and you still want to help me? You don't want to turn me into him and my father for escaping?”
Asia couldn't stop the frustrated sigh at the thought of being caught by her brother's right-hand soldier, his own personal bodyguard that even offered to watch out for her. So much for escaping when she could, she should have ran when she had the chance. While looking up at the window and hearing the faint yelling of people looking for her still, Asia looked back over in surprise as she shook her head at the comment of horses. He really wasn't going to turn her in? Looking down at the still offered hand, Athanasia dared to place her hand in his. “No, I like running. Think you can keep up?” And with that comment, she pulled her new acquaintance as she started to run towards the woods.

She recognized the pride - it was uncanny, how similar it was to her brother's,and she's watched over Vangelis long enough to recognize the similarities between the young princess and her eldest sibling. It was the same fire, zest and will to survive that existed in both, and Nike found herself just as willing to protect the young princess as she was to do the same for Vangelis.
She did appear surprise however, something which surprised Nike herself. Was she not offered this help much? But.. ah, she was a princess, was she not. A far, faint memory Nike had reminded her that once upon a time, her mother had also told her to not jump in puddles, run like a heathen, and that a lady should always have her hair in braids so as not to look as if she had just been tumbled. But that was a time long gone, so far away that Nike had almost forgotten. Instead, she nodded easily, as if there was nothing else she would like to do.
A light shone in Nike's eyes. "A dagger you say, your Highness?" the woman commander echoed. She bent down, and reached for something in her heavy leather boots. Pulling it out, the sunlight glinted off a very sharpened and polished dagger. For a lowly commander, Nike owned an ornate dagger, golden hilt with emeralds embedded that shone in the sunlight - something that one would unlikely find on a regular military male. It was Nike's mothers, the last thing she had of her parents that she had snatched that fateful day as she escaped from Acaris. She had found herself in Colchis the next day, and she had never returned.
But Nike had relied on that dagger for protection, and it now followed her no matter where she went. She grinned as she flashed it to the princess, before tucking it back in to her boot again."Deal." she agreed shortly, and then smirked when the princess further questioned her motives. "Because I believe everyone needs a chance to learn. You should too, Princess. However, you do need someone to make sure no harm comes to you. I would rather that be me, then to leave you alone."
When the yells started, Nike hard it too, and her short hair flicked as she turned to the back. The next thing she knew, the princess had already started running, and with little to no choice left, she started running after the lithe figure of the young princes, her paces kept steady and constant behind her, easily keeping up from the daily sparring and stamina training the military did while out on a campaign.
Only when the princess stopped, did Nike follow suit, her breathe coming in heavier gasps, shallower albeit not out of breathe. Turning to check on the princess, the woman grinned, and offered the choice to the princess. "Shall we start with your dagger then, Princess?"

When Nike showed Athanasia his dagger, Asia couldn't stop the show of admiration in her eyes as she looked over the finely made weapon. “It's beautiful. Where did you get it?” Never one to think that a question might be inappropriate, Asia just blurted it out in her awe of the gilded blade. Pulling out her own, it was a polished silver-handled dagger with small jewels set into the hilt. Small in size, something fitting for a princess who doesn't care for shiny things, its design was simple but elegant and nothing just anyone would be able to possess. “My father gave me this a couple weeks ago. It surprised me. I would never have thought anyone would allow me anything like this before.” It was a rare moment for Asia, opening up a little to her new possible friend. It surprised her too that she was starting to feel like she could trust this man before her, since he never once acted as though he would turn her in.
With a rare offer of helping teach Nike the bow if he taught her how to use her dagger, Asia couldn't help but smile when he agreed to it. Now was one of the rare moments that Athanasia looked forward to a lesson with excitement instead of dread and revulsion. Would he actually teach her? Would she be any good? With Nike's comment about needing someone, the look on her face was impossible to miss as her lip curled in irritation with her eyes gazing at him with a pure deadpanned expression. It was a moment but finally, Asia sighed in defeat. “Fine! If it's just you, I won't go alone out in the woods. For anyone else though, I make no promises.”
Just then the shouting got louder, making Asia place her hand into Nike's offered on at the last moment as she pulled him towards the woods at a run. They had to be quick otherwise, she would never get her lessons or her freedom. Her small sandaled feet tapping against the ground lightly, dodging stones and fallen trunks of trees the deeper they got till finally, she felt safe enough to stop. Turning to face Nike, Asia was impressed that he didn't seem out of breath, making her smile as she nods in answer to his question. “Yes, the dagger, then we can go hunting and you can learn the bow.” Lifting her bow and quiver from her shoulders and placing them against a tree, she pulled her dagger out and smiled as she bounced on her toes in excitement.

Used to military trained sharpness, Nike's eyes followed Athanasia's figure as she headed to place her bow against the tree, and then back to the middle of the clearing. She had spied the dagger the young princess had brandished earlier, and had noted the fine make, with the studded Colchian blood rubies and jewels in its hilt, fitting for a princess of her make. But what Nike was surprised with was how fine her own was as compared to the princess. She had never questioned where her mother's dagger had came from... but now, the woman found herself mildly curious.
The curiosity had no time to bed fed however - the princess was eager to start, and the woman was only more then glad to go with her, happy to see a woman who wasn't just prim and proper for once. Then again, with how the Kotas siblings were like, Nike couldn't say she was surprised.
"I got mine from my mother... a long time ago. She said it would protect me. Just like yours will protect you.' the woman smiled a confident smile, as she did the same as Athanasia, pulling out the dagger from its sheath she always kept tucked in her boot. There, she took a few steps closer, and angled her hold on the dagger so Asia could see. "Hold it downwards, and grip it tight. This allows your to use the earth's natural pull and your weight to drive the dagger in deep, as you attack." A faint memory came of her general telling her how Vangelis had trained Athanasia in minor self defence mechanisms.
"This is called a high guard." Nike continued, holding the dagger above her head, the sharp end at the imaginary attacker in front of her. "Point your shoulderblades back, and open your legs. See your free hand?" she wriggled the free hand that was also held up and in line with her head. "You can use it to either distract your enemy, or use it to grab their own weapon hand -" she feigned the action she had just explained, and then followed it with a downward swipe of the dagger she held. "When you do this, your weight will swipe it all the way down. As far as you can go." With that, the woman straightened up and gave her a smile and an encouraging nod. "Now you try. Careful now, don't let your chiton tangle you up."

If Nike had thought that Vangelis had taught her a couple things since she had gotten her dagger, he would be right. Mimicking the stance that Nike had easily, holding the blade correctly so that it was pointed down, she smiled as she soaked in the information like a sponge. "Yeah, Vangelis taught me how to hold it so I didn't cut myself, and then he added in the stance that you are showing me. He didn't get the chance to show me anything else yet. He's really busy these days." It was true, she knew it would happen. When her older brothers got to a certain age they would be leaving her more and more to go do 'responsible' things. Moving to lift her arm above her head, holding the dagger just as Nike was, feeling the strength in the pose as she pushed her shoulder blades back as she moved her legs how Nike instructed. "I wish all lessons were this interesting."
Taking her free hand, Asia couldn't stop the laugh as she jabbed her fist at her imaginary attacker's gut. Asia found that she liked to brawl, much to her mother's dismay, as she got into tumbles and jabbing matches with her brothers and anyone who ever tried to stop her in her escapes. "So as I distract with this hand.." Asia mimicked the grabbing motion that Nike just did, "I can then stab them with my dagger?" Moving her dagger in a downward motion, not much unlike how Nike did though alittle clumsy, Athanasia made a face. "I don't want to KILL anyone, just make them back off. Maybe hurt them a little bit if they tried to hurt me."
She conceeded that last part with reluctance even as Nike's comment about her chiton made her cheeks turn bright at a memory of her tripping when she was younger in a much longer gown. "That is one reason why I wear a short one like you men get to wear. It helps in not tripping or getting tangled up. Talk about an embarassing moment for that!" As Asia stood there waiting for Nike's next instruction, she started to flip her blade. It was a game to her, to flip it just enough to catch the hilt and not get cut by her blade, a game that she had been playing since she was left to her own instruction after Vangelis left and she watched other soldiers trying to show off.

It figures that Vangelis would have taught her some ways of defense - the man was far too protective by half, and had a serious heroicsm complex that just added on to Nike's workload. But it was a major reason on why she admired her general, and was not surprised when Asia mentioned he had been busy. Afterall, she was right behind him when he was busy, so she merely gave the princess a laugh as she wished on more interesting lessons. "Sometimes, we have to go through uninteresting things to learn better stuff. It teaches us patience and makes us more versatile and adaptable." she responded with a cheeky wink.
Watching carefully as Asia mimicked her movements, Nike nodded as she asked, and then moved forward. Standing behind her, Nike reached forward, barely noticing how closely she was standing as the commander focused on correcting her grip, and tightening it around the hilt of her own dagger. "Firmer hold on your whole hand - it isn't just your wrist. Engage your upper arm and it will be a firm swipe." she leaned in further, brushing her fingers briefly to show Asia where the muscles were, before stepping back.
"This will not kill - merely make them hurt enough that you can get away. It's a downward slash down their chest, so a wide enough arc so even if they dodge, you would still get some hold somewhere."
Nodding, Nike understood what Athanasia was saying. It was why she stayed in her riding pants and tunic, partly because it was simple and easier to get in fights when necessary, and partly because with her in a chiton, it was too easy to guess her secret. With pants and a tunic, she could keep up the guise and no one could guess. "Tis true, especially as footwork is very important. One makes the mistake of thinking too much on the hands, they forget their feet and trip, which is a fatal mistake in a fight." Nike let her gaze drift down, and smiled as the girl tossed her blade. She was deft with her hands, Nike would give her that. "Alright, now if you happen to enter an attack too early like so." she stepped towards a tree, and used an overhanging branch to simulate an arm. Nike placed her blade against the branch, and gestured at it. "If this happens, do not stop. Use it to twist it around the opponent's wrist, bring your blade up around it," she demonstrated by twisting her wrist so the blade heads upwards and around the branch and then with a firm hold, brought it down with a grip hard enough that it shaved the edges of the branch off. "Use that to disarm your opponent. Got it?"

When Nike mentioned about having to learn uninteresting things, Asia lets out a groan as her head dropped. Learning patience was so boring though, nothing at all for what Asia wished to learn. She wanted to learn all the interesting stuff first and only, nothing that she deemed boring. Mimicking each movement, Asia focused on what she was doing with her dagger and trying not to somehow stab herself, she didn't notice that Nike was suddenly very close to her as his hand covered hers to adjust her grip. To anyone else, it would be a simple and innocent motion, but to Asia's 15 (almost 16) year old mind, things were very weird that caused her to blush brightly. As Nike's fingers traced her arm across the muscles, telling her to keep a firm hold with more than just her wrist, Asia jumped away just as Nike moved back. *What the heck was that?!* Asia hadn't had much experience with men outside of going out of her way to fight with them, but this was different. "So a downward slash nicks but doesn't kill. Just... distracts."
Athanasia was starting to get angry with herself, angry with Nike for distracting her focus, as she commented on her chiton and her ability to not trip in it. It was the one thing that made her feel better as her new teacher praised her choices instead of admonishing her for them. Almost all her other tutors have shown their distain when she would wear the mens chitons, calling it unfitting and unnatural that she would even risk wearing anything like it. Flipping her blade, catching it carefully so she didn't get cut when it didnt flip enough and the blade ended up in her palm, she watched Nike move to the tree and showed off how to disarm someone. "But what if they go low? Would I even have that problem since most men are all bigger than I am?" After her question, she moved to the tree and mimicked Nike's motions. Twisting her wrist in a way that she could feel it dig into the branch's wood, Asia looked almost surprised when she pulled down and left a deep cut along the branch where her blade just was. "Now that looks like it would have hurt someone."

Nike had cocked her head when the princess had jumped back - she was a woman, technically. To her, she simply did not realize that a man would usually not go so near one of the opposite gender unless they fancied the other, and she was barely twenty-five herself, new in the whole idea of genders and with the added layer of having to navigate the waters as a man in disguise. But she did remember the fact that lowly soldiers usually did not take such liberties, and firmly reminded and scolded herself in her mind to watch her actions.
Nodding, the commander grinned, running a hand to the loose, dark locks that were short cut on her head. The princess was a fast learner, and for that Nike can see where she got it from.
"That is a fair question." Tossing her blade to the side, she waved a hand at Athanasia, grinnnig. "Come over, attack me. I promise I won't hurt you." Naturally cheeky, young still and quite unharmed from the elks of the battlefield, Nike still retained some of her childish youth at the age.
When the princess attacked low, Nike was quick to take a sidestep so the arm went harmlessly down the front of her body. In the same motion, the commander used the arm nearest to Athanasia to grasp her upper arm, and the other hand further from the princess swung down to grasp the wrist, where Nike froze in that position. "Just watch the direction of your assailant, and get into this position so the dagger can't harm you. Then disarm their wrist by twisting it backwards. Your aim is not to overpower them, but to outwit them by your smaller size and faster movements." It was the exact same way Nike fought, except ever since Vangelis started teaching her, she had begun to use the gravity of earth to aid her in her fights so it was less noticeable that she fought differently.
Stepping back, the commander picked up her blade again. "Okay, let's go over the high guard again. So you get used to it." Nike moved her legs into her defensive stance, and allowed the princess to use her as target practice. For over half an hour as the sun moved, the commander drilled the three moves she had just taught Athanasia, so that it would be ingrained as muscle memory. At the end of it, Nike wore a satisfied grin, and nodded. "I think we can stop for the day. No sense in pushing further and tire you out. otherwise you won't get to show off to me with your bow." With a wink, Nike slide her dagger into its sheath in her boot, and then waited for Athanasia's instructions for her.

Athanasia saw Nike cock her head just so when she jumped back, blushing brightly as she tried to focus on the lessons at hand. Never having had any male ever been so close to her, especially none that she considered cute. Asia was unsure of what she should do other than focus on the lesson he was trying to teach.
As they moved through each of the motions of the fight, Asia following Nike's instructions with each move, she soaked up all the information like a sponge. "I can't wait to one day put this into practice!" Asia was excited, her heart racing as she attacked low, Asia laughed as Nike caught both of her arms as if she were as weak as a kitten and held her there. "So twisting the arm backward from here can disarm them. That will be fun to be faster, then no one would be able to catch me." Even as she was pinned for the moment, it was hard to miss her growing excitement at the thought of learning so many new things that could prove that she was just as good as any man.
When Nike stepped back, he began to drill her with the motions that she just learned, each one becoming easier to repeat. Asia could feel her muscles burn with the unfamiliar motions, feeling her heart thump fast and hard the longer she pushed through each move. Once they were done Athanasia couldn't help but feel a sense of complete empowerment with each thump of her heart and twinge of her muscles. It reminded her of when she was learning her bow with Zanon teaching her every day, pushing her till she couldnt lift a tissue for a week, but when she hit that bullseye it made it all worth it. She was sure this was just like that moment, in the end, so worth it. "Nothing could tire me out too much for my bow. You sure you are ready for this?" Asia didn't have a boot to hide her dagger in, but she did have her belt to hold it, so after tucking it in and grabbing her bow. nocking an arrow, Asia handed her bow to Nike and watched as he held it aimed towards the tree.
This time it was her turn to move in behind him as he took his stance, putting a hand against his hand that held the bow. "Keep your elbow loose and not grip the wood so hard with this hand." Moving alittle further away as she eyed his pose, she pressed down on his elbow of the arm that pulled the string. "Relax, touch your thumb knuckle to your lower lip lightly. The key to the bow isn't force or power, per say, but grace and fliud motion." Looking at his feet, seeing the stance was still good, she stepped back and smiled. "Now, let go and tell me how it feels to you." After he masters this, Asia thought of taking Nike hunting and test his skills out.
