Finally, the damage of the storm sent by the God Boreas has passed on. While Midas has taken a severe hit in its trading and the royal stores of supplies have been depleted - and any family or barony situated by the sea has likely had its economy decimated - the kingdom is finally getting back on its feet. With its docks rebuilt and reopened, the Midas port has been allowing ships of all kinds of traders to settle in Midas. While this has opened the doors to many a stowaway and pick pocket, increasing petty crime in the capital, it has also brought flourishing trade to a market that has been dead for nearly six weeks. Now, the Kotas royals have announced the market to be remaining open for a whole night and have instructed lanterns to be lit across the Agora Plateia in the Lower Levels of the city. They have blessed and welcomed all foreign traders and ensured that a missive regarding the market has been spread for the last week. It is sure to be a loud and exciting event full of romantic shadows, lively music and food, cloth and supplies from all over Greek and the lands beyond.. It is also rumoured that the crown prince will even be in attendance, making this his first public appearance since his injuries and rumours of his death during the storm six weeks ago.

Silanos strolled into the market looking around for familiar faces. Seeing no one he knew at the moment, he quietly slipped into the many nooks and crannies around the many stalls in the market. He probably shouldn't be lurking around in Midas since he was most likely a wanted man. But there was nothing to do for the time being until Tim was ready to go home.
Anyways, sliding up to a merchant, he brought a green apple before munching on the tart fruit. Hmm, it really hit the spot. He hadn't eaten anything since morning and missed lunch. The event that had been promoted for nearly all last week was most likely starting anytime soon. The lanterns were already being lit as the sky above him gradually darkened. He hummed to himself, keeping a quiet lookout for any of the royal family or military men. If he saw them, he was going to turn the other way and pretend he didn't see them.
Stopping by another stall, he looked over a pretty, yet small trinket and quickly shook his head when he heard the stall keeper ask if he was getting something for a girl. Nope, he wasn't and wasn't planning on it any time soon. Women had been the source of his problems lately, and he wanted to keep on the down low. Speaking of women, he wondered how Evras was fairing. Did she get into as much trouble as he did or even more? His heart throbbed with guilt as he remembered the look of hurt that had been on the woman's face when the prince gripped her by her hair. If she were harmed in any way, he probably wouldn't be able to live with the guilt. Almost all of the women he had been with came away unscathed.
Sil squeezed his eyes closed as he dropped the trinket back onto the cart in front of him. The merchant reached out as if to steady him, unsure if the young lord was feeling ill or not. He quickly waved the older man's concern off. No, he was fine, no need for him to worry. Well, he was physically fine except for the bruised jaw. He mentally snickered as he remembered the bruises marring Tim's face. But he quickly sobered up. As for mentally, he wasn't so much, but it had steaded considerably after meeting with Nike. Thank gods for that young man. Bless his soul for talking to him.

With Colchis and Athenia damaged by the storm, Taengea had perhaps been the safest place to be in during the tumultuous past month and a half- although how 'safe' it was depended on how you looked at matters. The Creed was the latest on everyone's lips, and the previously joyful kingdom now had an air of trepidation over it, even as the royal family attempted to move everyone along. It was obvious from their efforts that the Mikaelidas were looking to allow life to return to normal within Taengea again.
With Midas having been closed for the past few weeks due to the damage, the reopening of the harbor saw Kreios making his way over. He had been lingering in Taengea as the final remains of the tragedy had been cleaned, but with all his wares peddled, the poison merchant had replenished his supplies from his private garden, closed up the mansion he stayed in again, before heading out once more to the seas towards Colchis, where the rest of his customers were likely awaiting his return eagerly. Besides, he had received the missive from the Kotas royals that announced the market that would remain open for a night - not that Kreios would have his own stall at the market, but it is a good place to wander in case anyone was interested in his wares.
His trip had taken all of a week, where the dark-haired male had spent sorting out his various vials and bottles that he had crafted upon his prolonged stay in Taengea. In his private quarters, Kreios left the sailing of the ship to the crew and captain he hired and was blissfully left alone to his own devices until they arrived at the harbor of Colchis.
"Sir, we've arrived."
His dark eyes flashed from where Kreios sat at his tables, used to the swaying of his ship on the waters to even noticed he had stopped. The flaxen hair young boy slave stood awaiting orders, orders which he took his time to consider before speaking. "Tell Captain Garvey to anchor the ship. We'll be here for a few days," he muttered. In the empty quarters, his chair screeched as he pushed it back across the wooden planks that made up the floors of the quarters he had on the Azazel. Picking up the black cloak he had draped on his luxurious four-poster bed with silken sheets, Kreios swung it over his shoulders, clasping the golden clasp so it rested in soft folds over his black riding pants and tunic.
"I'll return by tomorrow morning, Descat. My quarters must be cleaned." his tone was not that of asking, but of command. With no other words, the male swept out of his quarters, relishing the warm evening air as he strode past the rest of the bustling, busy crew to walk down the gangplank into the harbor of Midas city. He trusted his captain and his crew to handle things, but otherwise, his first mate would be on hand to deal with any problems that may arise. The Azazel was pretty self-sustaining, as long as they were at port. If necessary, Kreios would send the two slaves who were tasked to follow him around to return to the ship to get the wares needed for whatever customers he may get, but for now, he merely wanted to... watch.
Barely noticing the lively music, the way the lit lanterns cast romantic shadows in the Agora as he entered, Kreios kept to the shadows as he roamed, the two slaves in his tracks following at a distance behind, only coming if the darkhaired merchant summoned them. Under the cover of shadows, in his dark garb, Kreios mostly passed unnoticed by the lively crowd, but his dark eyes were watchful as he observed the people. Like many others... he was curious. Curious on the rumors that surrounded the crown prince, and the royal family.

It was nightfall now, with the sun gone and the lamps lit, Athanasia wanted to go explore what the markets had to offer as her parents announced earlier in the day that they would allow it to remain open throughout the night. Asia had heard many tales from the servants and ladies around the castle about all that was to be expected to go on during the night. With thoughts of plays, music, and food; Asia dressed for the night as she donned a deep blue chiton that went all the way down to her feet. There was only two person she could trust to not keep her on a short lead and also allow her to go where she wanted without telling her that she couldn't. One of those people Asia could not ask at the moment after the catastrophic events that happened not too long ago, events that also had her needing a distraction even as she still felt really bare without her bow now.
Asia couldn't help but smile a little at the thought of the other person as she pulled her cloak around her shoulders as she thought about her friend Nike. Was he going to the market tonight as well? Nike was someone that Athanasia knew she could count on the most to not hold her back, in fact, most times he was right there with her getting into just as much mischief. They both were always up for new adventures, and as their bond grew over the years, it was Nike that she went looking for now as she was covered from head to toe in the dark fabric to blend in with the crowd better. It wasn't long before she found Nike, grabbing his hand as she pulled him outside ahead of her family.
"Are you are going to the market with us? Father and Mother are keeping it open all night and I hear there are going to be loads of fun things to do." Skipping ahead a couple steps, she turned back, her hidden smile clearly seen in her eyes and could not help but goad him a little. "I mean, if you don't want to go, that is ok. I will go and find some adventure to get into by myself, I just thought you would want to come to join in on the fun." As Athanasia made sure her hood covered her hair, they stepped into the market that was now bathed with lights and sounds of all kinds of people. "Oh gods.. this is going to be so much fun!" With a laugh, Asia grabbed Nike's hand and pulled him along with her to the nearest music booth.

Nike had spent the afternoon practicing with her claymore, relieved to finally have the time and not be completely unable to lift her new weapon. While she had been working at it for the 2 weeks now - ever since her general had recovered enough for her to not have to always have an eye out on him. Nike had started actually taking the breaks in her schedule from being his bodyguard back in Colchis to practice. While she could feel her arm strength gaining and her swing stronger with the heavy weapon, she still held no confidence in wielding it for protection yet.
As such, when she had returned to her quarters, Nike had removed her practice clothing, and instead cladded herself in her formal uniform - the leather riding pants were tightened around her waist. The overused cloth was quickly bound around her chest as she always did before she shrugged on the tunic and another leather vest over it. Over those, she pulled on her armor that denoted her as head bodyguard to the crown prince, before strapping on her usual longsword.
The weapon rested against her thigh, and Nike cleaned the claymore she had been practicing with, laying it on her bed before grabbing her heavy military boots. Lacing them, the woman wasted no time in running to the entrance of the Kotas family, flashing her general and his siblings a grin. She was familiar with them - some more so than the others. After all, she had spent the last eight years with them and knew almost all of their quirks and qualms.
But duty called, and Nike was nothing if not fastidious in her job.
Her voice quickly barked out commands to the guards assigned to the excursion for the night - nothing was going to happen on her watch, not if she could help it. She had instructed for extra protection for the night - Vangelis may not say it, but she knew he still twinged from his injuries, and she wasn't taking the chance. The commander personally double checked all the carriages and reins, tightening straps and going over the security retinue one last time, before she hopped on her steed, and gave the signal to move on.
It did not take long for everyone to arrive at the Agora Plateia - where the market was obviously already in full swing. A rare, small smile quirked her lips upwards - the bustle and lit up lamps of the area reminded her much of Taengea, and the faint memory of when her mother used to bring her to such festivals, a common occurrence in Taengea. A time where life was a lot simpler.
The nostalgia lasted only briefly, for as the carriages rumbled to a stop, the commander was the first off her chestnut steed, handing the reins off to someone else. Her booted feet briskly brought her to the door of the carriage which had swung open. From the corner of her eye, the woman was pleased to see her men quick to form a barricade around as the people of Midas crowded to see the arrival of the royal family. One hand remained on the hilt of her longsword, the other held the door to allow the royal family's descent to the ground.
Athanasia had been first, and Nike's gaze turned fond as she heard the bright, chirpy voice of the young princess she watched almost as fiercely as her general. She had spent many years watching the girl grow into the gregarious character she was now - and Nike would be damned if she allowed anything untoward to happen to the youngest of the Kotas. As she pulled, Nike's head screamed at her that she was going against protocol, but with a glance over her shoulder, the commander quickly signaled for another to watch as the royal family exited the carriage, and gently applied the brakes as Athanasia let her hand go.
"I'm on duty, Princess." she murmured as a gentle reminder, her eyes still fondly looking over the princess skipping ahead. "I'll go where your brother goes - you know that." With a nudge at her, she offered her arm to Athanasia, intending to escort her back to her family. When she grabbed her arm to drag her, Nike laughed and laid a hand to apply some pressure on her grip, holding her back. "Hold your horses, excitable one." the woman laughed, taking the hand and threading it through the arm she had held out, cocking her head towards where her family stood to wait. "Let your parents know first - and your brother. After that..." she paused mysteriously, and a twinkle of cheek sparkled in her golden eyes, making her seem almost charming in the golden light that basked the marketplace. "Maybe. We'll see what happens."
Oh, the commander had her duties - she knew she was likely giving Athanasia false hope. But she knew how to handle the princess by now. Telling her to do something would not do a bit to convince her. So she coaxed the young one, hoping that her love for her family would at least hold back her sense of adventure for a little, at least until the royal family has done their duty in addressing the people of Midas first.

"Athanasia, you're staying with us."
The words were spoken not unkindly but in a tone that was firm and not to be argued with. So, of course, it came from the eldest of her brothers. It also did not, in fact, come from inside the carriage, where his two younger brothers were seated. His other - Zanon - and his wife had elected not to journey with the rest of the family and Vangelis wasn't certain whether it was to continue their issues in private back at the manor or that they would indeed be joining them all later. Instead, he had elected a policy of ignorance, having said his part when he had beaten his brother to the ground nearly a week ago. If Zanon chose to ignore his words of - rather forceful - advice then there was nothing else he could do regarding the matter.
His thoughts seemed to mirror the last letter he had received from the Lady Selene and he pushed the consideration to the back of his mind. He needed to respond to that note but had yet to know exactly how. Her last missive had seemed terse and he knew his own last message had been. He ground his teeth. Expressing yourself on paper was such a lengthy waste of time, when he could just stop with the sidelong and round-about mannerisms and just speak his mind when communicating in person.
Such as when Nike had held a door open for him to the carriage back at the Kotas manor. And he had, instead, stepped forward and mounted his horse. It might not have been words but the set in his features and the determination with which he carried out his actions were communication enough. She hadn't needed a flowery description to be told that there was no way he was getting inside the carriage when this event would be his opportunity to show his people that he had recovered.
Which was why it was from behind the convoy and carriage that Vangelis' voice came, rather than from inside the carriage itself.
The voice was quickly followed by the snort of a horse brought to a sharp halt, the skittering of some hoof beats and the thump of Vangelis' boots as he dropped to the ground.
Handing the reins of his stead Windrunner to a nearby servant - for Phobos had yet to be broken and ridden - Vangelis stepped out into the public view with a collective murmuring and even a few cheers. He nodded respectfully to a few civilians but otherwise gave no outward impression as they called their support for the Kotas family remaining whole through the stormy disaster of last month.
"You're not to go wandering off, Asia." He told his sister in a low tone that was inaudible to the public. "But that doesn't mean I can't wander with you." He added with a half-smile. "You'll get to see everything, I assure you."

Asia was about to go skipping down the walkway and explore just what all the market had to offer so late at night, but as she tried to get Nike to go with her, he somehow managed to stop her as he laced her arm through his. Now with her arm laced through Nike's, she couldn't move anywhere now that he had decided that she should stop moving. "But...!" It was then that Vangelis' voice rang out clear telling her that she was to stay with them, instantly earning him a glower from his little sister for ruining her fun. "Vangelis, I was going to steal Nike away and go listen to some music. I will be safe with him, right?" Looking up at Nike, she gave him her sweetest smile in an attempt to charm him into an agreement before turning back to the crowd.
Asia listened and watched the musicians play as dancers danced wildly to the rhythms that they played, the beat of the drums traveling far as it rumbled through her and caused her to get lost in the music as she swayed in place. It reminded Asia of the freedoms she felt in the forest, making her wish to dance in the revelry and just get lost in the music like everyone else found the freedom to do. As she looked around, she could also see the street vendors selling food and treats, almost smelling the roasting meats with their spices. Just as she tried to wiggle free, Vangelis brought her up short with the only suggestion that would pull her back to the here and now. "Really? You will go exploring with me?" Seeing his half smile earned her big brother a true smile from Asia. Not one of her usual sarcastic ones or her overtly sweet ones in her attempts to get what she wanted.

Imeeya had picked one of her favorite chitons for the evening, made from thin deep green fabric that almost seemed to float around her. It was embroidered with deeper green leaves around the hems of the sleeves, skirt and neckline. Her hair had been tied up on top of her head, wound around a green ribbon. Of course, to top it all off she had a large gold necklace made of delicate interlinked gold shapes. She had several simple gold bracelets on each wrist. If she was going to enjoy herself tonight, she was going to look her absolute best while doing it. Of course, this time going out amongst the people she would also be careful. She had learned that it was best to keep a dagger on her person, and she tucked one into her belt, hoping that nothing would occur where she would have to use it.
As soon as she was free for the day, Imeeya made her way down towards the market. She could already see that the market had a different, more vibrant air than normal. It was just beginning to get busy, and she knew it would only get busier as the evening went on. As Imeeya entered the market, she browsed at a few of the stalls, seeing what kind of things they had for sale in case she wanted to come back for something later. If there was any time to buy something, it would be now, when so many different vendors were here from all over. She stopped at one stand and felt some beautiful fabrics. Another stall further down offered all sorts of jewelry, though they wouldn’t let her look at it to closely. She suspected that it might only be gilded instead of the gold that they claimed it was. She was looking around for the next item to peruse when she suddenly spotted a familiar face through the crowds.
Imeeya’s face lit up as she hurried over towards her cousin, Asia. It seemed like ages since they had last had time to get together, especially during something fun. As she approached she noticed that her cousin Vangelis and another young guard were standing nearby talking with Asia. Imeeya worried a bit that this might ruin their fun a bit, Vangelis had never been as much fun as Asia.
“Asia!” Imeeya exclaimed with a big grin, folding her cousin into a hug. “You must come with me! I heard there were musicians over past those stalls.” Imeeya pointed over towards her right, where a few notes could be heard over the dull rumble of the crowd.
Then Imeeya noticed her other cousin’s eyes on her, and she realized she had left him completely unacknowledged in her excitement. “Vangelis,” Imeeya nodded her head towards him. “Have you been enjoying the festivities?”

News of the the market would be remaining open during the night had filitered through and finally into happy cheers around him. However, the commander new better than to think this would be a chance for them to let their guard down and not protect the people of the city. Not only that, it was rumored that the crownded prince would also be in attendance which also could mean his family members. This meant that they needed to be even more on guard. Whenever the Royal family was suspected to attend events, it always made Lazaros worry just a little bit more on whether it would be safe and that his ment would keep clear minds. This was after all a celebration so there were no questions that the wine and ale would be flowing.
Adorned in his formal uniform, Lazaros's long sword was sheathed and attached to his belt. He was not apart of the unit that were bodyguards to the prince and his family but he was still there in case things were to happen during this happy event. A select few of his soldiers volunteered to work that night and he thanked them, tell them he would reward them for their service for the night.
The men entered into Agora Plateia and Lazaros actually was taken a back by how many people had shown up to the event. However, he knew he shouldn't be suprised. With trade routes back open and the harbour now open again, things were slowly going back to normal. Thinking to his own house, he knew his father would be happen with this and probably even had sent a ship to the city filled to the brim with fish. The thought took him back, thinking about his family. It had been some time since he had been back in his home province. The Colchis army was his priority at this present time in his life. He knew his father was proud but the ever heavy expectancy of him taking over after his father was growing.
Shaking his head, he rid himself of the thoughts of his past and most likely his future one day, Lazaros spotted the Prince Vangelis and the Princess Athanasia. Close by was of course Nike, another Colchis Commander and head bodyguard to the Prince. This made him much more comfortable now, knowing that they were both now protected but felt he should at least let them know he was there. "Come boys." His voice husky as he told the three men with him to come with him as he made his way over to Prince.
"My Prince." He called out as he was close enough to be heard without shouting. "We have come to aide in any way we are needed." He dropped his head slightly, to the prince and looking to the princess. "Princess." Lazaros then looked back to Prince Vangelis.

In a way, Nike had been relieved when Vangelis's voice had came ringing out behind them. While Athanasia occasionally listened to her, the princess was a wild, headstrong one who was a tough character to rein in when she got a idea of something she wanted to do. Plus, treading the line as her friend but as a commander and bodyguard, she had to pick her words carefully.
A little swell of pride filled her chest as she heard the cheer of the people of Midas when they saw the healthy, unharmed figure of their crown prince. Nike had saw with her own eyes, how hard Vangelis had worked at recuperating and getting back on his own two feet faster then the physicians had deemed he would. Of all the things Nike admired of him, his determination to do well for others was perhaps at the top of her list, along with many others.
As was her habit, her eyes followed his form as he strolled to his sister, and Nike took a respectful step back, ears still privy to the whispered words meant for Asia's eyes, but far enough to provide them the sense of privacy. Watching as they conversed, the commander had the familiar sense of jealousy - of how they had the sense of sibling companionship she's never experienced growing up. Nike gave a light chuckle at the way Asia tried to sweet talk her way out of things, but accompanied it with a mild shake of her head. Like it or not, she was on duty, and she was unlikely to shake it off for Asia's whims, as much as she doted on the young princess.
Her eyes flickered to another noble lady, one she knew as a Lady Imeeya of Drakos, a cousin and friend of Athanasia whom Nike had seen come visit whenever they were back in Colchis. Hands remained on her hilt as they conversed, but the commander's eyes were ever watchful of their surroundings, just in time to catch a cohort and fellow commander of hers approaching.
A familiar smile curled her lips slightly upwards, a ghost of a smile. Lazaros was a trusted ally in battle, someone who... well, had given Nike had a hard time back when she had first been promoted. Yet over the years, the woman guessed she had somewhat earned her respect, for they had eventually fallen into an easy friendship, banters exchanged and quips tossed while they were out on the military field. She trusted him, and made no move as he approached the prince, holding a hand so the guardsmen she had assigned to form a tight circle around the royal family would stand down to allow the other commander to approach should he want to.

Vangelis nodded to his sister as she became excited at the notion of exploring the market. It was as if the teenager had become a small girl of four of five once more, eager to witness the world despite her family's assurances that she needed to be careful when doing so. Eventually, it would dawn on Athanasia just how significant of a woman she was and what her role as the only daughter of the King truly meant. Today, it seemed, would not be that day. And Vangelis hadn't the heart to make it so when the Lady Imeeya approached with similar enthusiasm.
The two cousins - fast friends for their entire childhood were as bad as each other and Vangelis inwardly groaned as the task of keeping Asia safe and on target had now just become infinitely hard.
"Commander Nike, you're in charge of those two tonight." He instructed the woman he trusted most in his band of bodyguards. "Asia, you disobey a single instruction the Commander gives you and I'll be forced to offer your archery tutor a fully paid and extended holiday." The warning was offered in a joking manner but Vangelis' lack of reputation as a trickster and his hard gaze told his sister that this was in no way a bluff and he was serious about his promises.
It was then that Vangelis's attention was drawn to his right as a large man with a domineering step equal to his own came forwards, speaking to him with title but in a manner that indicated familiarity.
As the crowd parted, Vangelis instantly recognised the man - though he had had shorter hair last time he had seen him.
"Lord Lazaros." He greeted with a small and welcoming smile - the most anyone ever got out of the Stone Prince. He reached forward and the two of them clasped forearms in a friendly manner, the other bowing his head to royalty. "My friend, it has been too long." He commented with sincerity.
Vangelis and Lazaros had fought on several battlefields together in the Northern Lands but none of recent. As the lands across the sea had become settled (more or less) without out-right war taking control, Vangelis' responsibilities as crown prince had called him back home, leaving the maintaining of the peace and settling of skirmishes to his trusted Commanders - one of whom was Lazaros.
He had known the man to be back on the Kirakles Isles for a few months now but had not been fit enough to make the journey to visit. The two had often shared field reports by messenger but this was the first they had seen each other since the beginning of the year when Vangelis had been back abroad.
"I thank you for your dedication, Lord Lazaros." He said to the man offering a squeeze and then release of his forearm. "And to your men, if you'd be so kind to pass on my words. But please, enjoy the night also - some of us seem determined to do so no matter the situation." He added with are shrewd look at his sister who only pulled a face back.
Falling back on propriety, Vangelis placed a hand on Lazaros' shoulder and waved the other towards the Lady Imeeya.
"My Lord, I'm unsure that you've met my cousin on my father's side. Lady Imeeya of Drakos, this is Lord Lazaros of Vlahakis. A brave and loyal Commander who keeps safe our lands to the North."

Just as Vangelis tells her that they could explore the market together, the thought of actually hanging out with her big brother again made her smile just as Imeeya surprised them as she hurried over. "Imeeya!" Just as her cousin wrapped her in a hug, Asia hugged her back just as tightly. "Musicians? Where? And Vangelis was just telling me that we had to stay together but he was going to explore as well." When Imeeya finally said her hellos to Vangelis, Athanasia couldn't help but giggle a little since not many could ever ignore Vangelis.
Athanasia was still trying to head off as her cousin and brother spoke pleasantries, laughing as she spotted Nike watching over intently to make sure that she couldn't, in fact, vanish in the market to go have fun discovering what others have brought. Maybe they might run into Silanos? He was someone she found interesting, though she wasn't fully sure why. Sure he was cute and he made her smile, but Nike did all those things as well. Looking over at Nike, she pondered over a couple thoughts that she never dared share with anyone.
Just as she was pondering escape and ways that she and Imeeya could get into some mischief, suddenly her brother decides to put Nike in control of both she and her cousin for the night, but not before he issued his ultimate threat. "What?! But Vangelis... No archery?" Her eyes went wide as she looked completely appalled, even in his joking tone she could see he meant it. "You are cruel, brother. So cruel." Athanasia grouched at him, scrunching her nose to show her displeasure at that thought as she crossed her arms in a huff.
As she was completely put off from sneaking off at that particular moment, a familiar face appeared from the crowd that had Asia nod her head in greeting. "Lord Lazaros." Her friendly demeanor changed quickly though as Vangelis gave her that look, to which she stuck her tongue out at him in a very sisterly but not princess-like manner. The look didn't last long though as she broke out in a laugh, pulling Nike and Imeeya by the arms to leave. "Remember Vang, you promised you would explore with us as well, so meet us by the musicians? Maybe we could all have fun and dance as we used to when we were little? You are welcomed to come explore with us, Lord Lazaros." With that, Asia pulled her two friends along with her towards the sound of music.

Imeeya wasn’t about to contradict her cousin Vangelis, but she resented that she had immediately been placed under the watchful eye of his guard as soon as she decided to come spend time with Asia. Her eyes briefly quickly flashed in irritation at Vangelis’s orders, but she managed to stifle her temper. She saw Asia’s dismay at the threat against her archery lessons, and Imeeya didn’t want to do anything to mess with her cousin’s favorite pastime. Imeeya had been looking forward to a night where she had some freedom from anyone, namely her mother, keeping her under a tight rein. Still, she wasn’t about to let that spoil her fun.
Imeeya started to turn to her cousin to share her plans to go see the musicians and other performers, when the group was approached by a striking man who, judging from his attire and the way he spoke with the Prince, hailed from a military background. Imeeya watched him as he approached, but had turned back to Asia and was about to speak to the princess when Vangelis gestured to her to come over and be introduced to this man. Imeeya approached at Vangelis’s gesture and smiled politely up at the man.
”It’s a pleasure to meet you Lord Lazaros.” she replied, looking down and bowing her head slightly, before looking back at him. ”I hope you have plans to enjoy this evening.” However, Imeeya didn’t have time to wait for a response as she was quickly whisked away by Asia grabbing her by the arm and pulling her off in the direction of the musicians that she had pointed out earlier. Secretly, Imeeya was glad that she had an excuse not to have to continue with the conversation. While she was perfectly capable of holding her own when it came to small talk, Imeeya was glad to be free from the requirement of stiff and polite conversation that it would require. Tonight, she was going to have fun.
When they were out of hearing of the others, Imeeya snatched her hand out of Asia’s grip playfully. “Asia,” she fake scolded, grin on her face. “Now Lord Lazaros is going to think I’m rude, running off without even waiting for a reply.” Imeeya laughed at the thought. She didn’t actually care that much about what Lord Lazaros thought of her behavior. Imeeya scanned the area, trying to figure out how to get to where the music was coming from. Imediately in front of the direction of the music, there was a large tent full of various wooden furniture, so they’d have to go around.
“I think it’s this way,” Imeeya said to the two others with her and went to the left, around the tent and a few other stalls, and turning down a lane through the various displays that seemed to be heading roughly in the direction of the lively music. Imeeya looked back at Asia and Nike, with an enthusiastic smile, hoping that they trusted her sense of direction. She couldn’t wait until they actually found the performers.

Nike would've thrown the very dagger he had gifted her just a week or so ago, if it had been anyone else.
Vangelis words immediately made Nike's eyes flash at her best friend, and a minute scowl appeared that only he would pick up on. Oh, the woman commander knew very well the difficulty in coralling Athanasia alone - with Lady Imeeya added into the mix, the task was infinitely tougher. When put together, the two would run as wild as minxes, and she knew without a doubt that her hands would be full for the night. With an inward sigh and a glare at Vangelis that promised him retribution later, she nodded. It was a good thing she was so fond of Asia - that was likely the only reason her eyes and senses were kept razor sharp.
Hiding a laugh at Vangelis's threat to Athanasia, Nike had to follow the young princess's insistent tuggings even as their conversation to her fellow commander took place. Snickering when Asia reminded Vangelis of his promise, she grinned a sly grin at Vangelis. "Well, you did promise... general." she murmured, before heading off after Imeeya and Athanasia.
The music was invigorating, that much Nike was certain of. A Taengean by birth, the way the market was set up, the vibe that thrummed through the area, was enough to remind her of just how it used to be in the festivals her mother would bring her when she was much younger, as a cheerful young girl. Then, it was a matter of finding the best honey oatcakes to consume, waiting till the musicians played the liveliest song.
Now, she had a duty to perform.
Following behind the two girls, her longsword against her thigh, Nike was dutiful in keeping her eyes on the two nobles, and her quick reflexes enabled her to keep up as Imeeya brought them around to the musicians. Nodding to the noble lady in encouragement (for she was faintly certain they were going in the right directon, given the music growing louder as they went further), the woman followed doggedly along, weaving through the crowds as they went.

When the royal family had departed for the nightlong market that celebrated the reopening of the harbor, Zanon and Evras had been... well, asleep really. Lying in each other's arms, well ensconced away from the rest of the world, skin against skin. Neither husband nor wife had heard the servants calling at their door, and by the time Evras had reluctantly rolled awake as the banging at the door got more insistent, she was shocked to notice the sun was dangerously low on its horizon - which meant the rest of the Kotas family had departed, and that they were left in the mansion.
A gasp escaped her lips as she shot up in bed, likely jostling her husband next to her in bed. Her features was a picture of shock, as she jumped out of bed, barely noticing Zanon's reaction. Pulling her chiton to cover her bare body, Evras ran for the door, pulling it just a smidgen open to reveal the face of an embarassed looking servant who was reminding her of the time. "Young Prince Dion is ready to depart as soon as you are, Princess."
With profuse apologies, Evras told them to bring Dion to the foyer, stating that they would both be down in just a moment, before darting back into the room, hurriedly running for the wardrobe containing her silken chitons. "Zanon, we're late! Everyone else left already. Dion's downstairs waiting for us." her voice was mildly panicky - it's only been a few days since they reconciled, there was no doubt that the rest of the family still looked at her with misgivings. That, coupled with the fact that the rumors that floated around Midas always made Evras fidgety about facing the public, meant that she was always somewhat panicky when it came to public appearances.
But that didn't mean she would forsake her duty. Being the wife of a Kotas for almost twelve years now would teach one that.
Dragging on her seafoam green chiton that fell to just around her ankles, she shifted to the mirror, clasping on the golden belt that would hold up the material. Two goldem armills of filigree snake was slid up to her upper arm. Reaching for her dark locks, a quick brush worked out any knots that they had from her earlier tussle in bed with Zanon. Evras deftly braided up both sides of her hair, before winding them backwards, using a leather band to hold them up. That done, she reached for the small ivy leaf circlet, placing it on her head, before picking up Zanon's own crown, the one that denoted him as the second son to the King of Colchis.
Turning to her husband, Evras gave a soft smile - she had missed doing this for him, really. Getting ready to attend public events in the same room. Tenderly, the woman would stand on her tip toes to place it on his head, pressing a tender kiss to his cheeks before grabbing his hand and hurrying him down the steps. At the foyer, Evras grinned again when she saw Dion dressed as smartly as an eleven year old would, and reached for his hand.
Until she remembered what Zanon had reminded her - that Dion was growing up, and she really should stop coddling him.
Stopping short, with a hesitant look thrown over her shoulder at Zanon, Evras paused her movement, and then retracted her half-outstretched arm that had been for her son. Instead, she held back, and motioned at Dion to come along, before the small little family headed down the steps of the Kotas mansion to the waiting carriage.
"Are we going together today, Mum?" the young boy asked, obviously excited. It had been too long since husband and wife had shared a carriage with their son. Evras felt the guilt resurface again at how excited Dion seemed, and couldn't resist leaning forward to kiss his temple as the doors closed behind them, and the driver urged the horses forward. After that night, both Evras and Zanon had spoken to their son. Evras had apologized for putting him through that, but Dion was, luckily, a forgiving boy who seemed simply eager to have his parents back, and it showed from the way he eagerly looked out whilst the carriage headed towards the Midas docks.
