We're Hiring!Ladies and gents the staff team doors are opening to those who are wanting to take their first steps into the staffing world of Aeipathy! We're going to be having a slight jiffle around in our staff teams (watch all our staffers start to shift awkwardly in their seats because I haven't mentioned this to them yet - no worries guys, nothing too serious!) And this will allow for some spaces to open up in our staffing roster! As such, we are looking for the below roles...
Athenia Kingdom ManagerFor those who don't know. We have recently created the role of Kingdom Managers here on Aeipathy. These staffers are a part of special team that will be working with JD to create global plots across our six kingdoms so that JD can focus on the encompassing plots across the site. This role hasn't yet had the chance to really be utilised to its fullest as we only have on Manager currently on the books. With a complete Grecian team (see this and the next ad) we'll be able to keep a stronger hand on timelines and plotlines and ensure that everyone within each of our kingdoms as something exciting to be writing!
Here's the general gist: Whilst JD will maintain control over the major global plots and how they interlink together across the kingdoms and realms and will continue to create Events, Stories and Quests that she thinks would work well, we are looking for a member who would be willing to take on Athenia solely and be responsible for all other plots, events and story developments in that kingdom. This does not mean that they will be forced to rp only within that kingdom - they can have as many characters in as many places as they like - but their responsibilities as a Manager will be limited to that one kingdom.
Please Note- Being a Manager means being aware of all future curveballs and changing plotlines in that kingdom ahead of time. So, if you are someone that constantly likes being surprised by stories and curveballs in a particular kingdom - you do not want to be a Manager for that kingdom.
- All Managers must have at least one character within their managed kingdom and willing to rp in as many Events as that character is permitted to as they will be instrumental in maintaining the flow and speed of Events in their kingdom.
- Managers will be expected to come up with Events and plots and fun games within their kingdom. So, if you're someone who constantly has more ideas than you can write this would be a brilliant role for you. If, on the other hand, you love to keep to your specific plot niche and you know what you like and tend to keep to that, this is a role that probably requires more diversity than you'd want to take on.
- Please also note that this role is new. As time goes on, we'll be editing and tweaking the responsibilities on this member's shoulders and gradually passing the torch into their hands. This will not be a wham - now you're in control of everything Athenian from now on.
- This role is under the direct supervision of JD and, as situations change and global plots alter to accommodate the membership we have at any one time plots and efforts will need to be changed and twisted. The main purpose of this role is to
support and aid the head admin in global plot development. So, if you are someone who likes complete autonomy or would feel like their toes are being trodden on if JD was to come in and run with ideas or make changes, this is probably not the role for you.
- This role has a very specific requirement in terms of the personality of its taker. The role of the Kingdom Manager is to ensure that all players in that kingdom have a fun, significant and viable plotline that follows our lore and is as inclusive and large scale as possible. The person who takes on this role should have an Athenian character that is preferably not at the very centre of drama but in a position where they can create some. They should be someone who is able to put aside their own desires to see certain plots and developments for their own characters and focus on how everyone can be happy and involved. They should also be someone who can tentatively bring issues that break with Aeipathy lore to the staff team's attention so that they can be addressed before they become a problem and break context for others.
Kingdom Manager Tasks- Monitoring and updating all Events within their kingdom.
- Knowing and devising ways for the global plot line to develop within that kingdom.
- Creating a range of different Events designed to feature as many potential characters as possible - including different types of character at their centres.
- Maintaining complete secrecy when it comes to future curveballs and story developments.
- Writing up ads for key wanted characters in their kingdoms to be posted on resource sites.
Mentor (x3)We are looking for up to three wonderfully friendly members who would be interested in taking on the mantel of Mentor! For those who don't already know our Mentor system is a buddy system where we pair every Newcomers with a more veteran member who can show them the ropes, answer their questions and help to offer them advice on characters they might want to play. Here is the basic gist of the skills required for this role...
Please NoteThe role of Mentor is more carefully appointed and organised than you might expect. We have a certain level of activity we expect from our Mentors (in terms of messaging newcomers on a regular basis) and we have steps and protocol in place for how to speak with those newcomers and bring them into the fold so that they can select the right characters and environment for them. As such, you'll be checked up on, given advice on how to talk and encourage hesitant newcomers and will give sometimes weekly reports on your Mentees and how they are doing. You'll be expected to be entirely objective as to which wanteds or canons will suit a member rather than which ones you would personally like to see on the site and you'll have the staff team looking over your shoulder. Yes, we like to call it support and yes we try not to be too bothersome about it. But, if you're someone who is thinking this role just requires you to be nice and friendly and get a points salary each month, then think again! Our Mentors are dedicated and active members on Discord who spend a lot of their time relaying between staff and newbies to make sure that everyone is receiving the help and support they need to get on board with Aeipathy!
Mentor Tasks- Welcoming newcomers to the server and site.
- Managing questions and mentoring newcomers through the application process.
- Helping new characters with their first few threads to ensure they get involved.
- Helping to create staff starters for those suffering activity issues at the end of each month.
- Monitoring the #quiet-room on the server.
