The morning light shone bright against Maximus' eyelids as he fluttered them open. Part of him wished it was a dream that he did not abandon his duty the moment he heard Celine's soft breathing he knew it was reality. Celine his best friend, no, lover had her head rested against Maximus' bare chest, her naked body snuggled against his. She looked perfect with her flawless olive skin, her long brown hair and golden earrings which bounced up and down with each turn of her head. Maximus would be putting himself in danger through deserting but a look at Celine told the young man that it would be worth.
He loved Celine for years, Maximus suppressed those inner feelings through years of training and discipline to be a soldier. In a way, it held Maximus back because blinded him of the true reason why he wanted to become a solider: to protect Celine. "Celine my love," Maximus kissed her on the head. His body ached to have her perform the special technique that she learned just for him. "Did you have a good night's rest?"
Maximus wanted to go easy on Celine but she insisted on making love and he can't blame her. For years they've kept their feelings hidden one out of fear and the other out of misguided attempt to hardened themselves so they can protect the person he loves. Those years could've been better spent loving and caring for each other, the future was uncertain but as long as Maximus and Celine were together they could fight whatever comes in their way.
For now? It is best to bask in each other's nakedness and admire the bodies that the Gods blessed them with. Not only Celine was intelligent but she was as sure beautiful and Maximus wanted to spend the entire day making love to her.

"It...was not perfect," she had to admit as she stretched and yawned. "I did wake in the night once, very cold. The memories of spending all that time in the ship behind those crates aren't good ones. I only got through them by praying to Hermes and Aphrodite that you would accept my love. I was afraid it was all a dream when I saw you sleeping next to me." She breathed out a shaky sigh, but managed a smile. "But then I actually felt that you were there, and I've slept with my head on your chest all this time...." She ran her admiring gaze down his body. In truth, she never wanted to do anything but make love and then sleep in his arms, ever again. But amid the admiration was also a tinge of worry, and the feeling that she would do anything to keep him safe even if she had to offer a thousand sacrifices a day. Speaking of keeping him safe, there was still the matter of his dust he'd given her in Colchis.
"I do have a question. What should we do with your dust? I still have it, but now I realize if you return to Colchis you will be tortured or executed. And if I would be happier being anywhere else than Taengea right now, for the sake of my father's political alliances and what they may have caused years ago, I also want to make sure that we're safe."
Otherwise, however, her thoughts also lay with making love to him all day. "We do need to think about it. But I do have an idea what might make it less stressful." She winked and rose to her knees, eager to please him, even though she had spent at least half of the previous evening there.... In truth, the thing she knew he loved invigorated her, too, for some reason she could not quite explain. It made her happy to know that he enjoyed her...she could almost have called it worship... between his thighs.

It was wonderful to hear the sing song voice of Celine, it was not so wonderful to hear that her sleep wasn't perfect. Maximus watched as Celine began to stretch exposing her round and firm breasts. She was always plagued with nightmares usually regarding the fires. However this time it was related to the journey she undertook just to be with Maximus the young man smiled as he came in and began to squeezed her breasts while she spoke. They felt so soft as Maximus began to kiss Celine's neck. "You never have to worry again Celine," Maximus murmured between kisses. "I am now yours forever and ever."
Celine then bought up the conversation regarding his dust which caused Maximus to raise an eyebrow. It was Bedoan tradition to leave a person's dust as hope that they'll return home one day. Now the two of them are on the run together, was it worth it for Celine to keep the dust? Maximus took the bag and dispersed the dust, the grains floated in the air and disappeared into the light. "Well looks like I'll be with you forever," he smirked. "What is your idea my love?"
He had a great feeling about what Celine would do.

His kisses eased the fear as much or more than his words. She wanted to lie in his arms forever, just to be there. It was as if she couldn't quite believe this was all real yet, but in the best way possible. And at the last kiss, she moaned in an odd kind of relief as he squeezed her breasts, which had begun to tingle with the passion of their kisses- a rather pleasant side effect. she thought with a smile and the blush of passion on her face.
Then he dispersed the dust- a rather brave move on his part, she thought, since it was a tradition from his Bedoan roots. Then again, perhaps in their case, traditions weren't meant to matter quite so much, even if they were still important. Due to the fire in her past and the possible political origins of it, neither she nor her parents had ever considered the possibility that her marriage might be an arranged one. In circumstances such as theirs, that might not be safe, depending on whom the other party would have been. She blessed Hermes and Aphrodite every day for that.
She sighed happily. "You can play with my breasts half the time we aren't lying in each other's arms, breathless from making love," she said with a grin. "And the other half of the time, I'll do this! It...invigorates me," she said, to reassure him, knowing he might be a little worried about that. "I'm not sure why; perhaps it should tire me out- my breathing... but it doesn't at all. Tasting you is worth it." She laughed, her voice warm and low, before taking the most private part of him into her mouth. It felt so good to do this, almost as good as their lovemaking. Perhaps the fact that it did proved how much she had longed for him all these years- that now that she had him, she wanted every part of him.

It was amazing how much confidence Celine had when he was gently touching him. When he had first met her, Celine was adverse to touch but right now she was more than willing to reach down and taste his place of pleasure. The satisfying sensation that Maximus felt when Celine began to wrap her lips around it made Maximus think about things that he never dared to think about like completely ravaging Celine. "Celine," Maximus whispered while the woman continued to suck. "Remember to keep your promise to me always I love you so much."
The young man began to reach over and kissed Celine's head. "Keep doing it my love," he whispered. "It feels glorious."

She hummed a little in agreement when he asked her to keep going. She'd heard that humming increased the sensations there, too. In a way, finally confessing their love had probably opened a whole new world for them both. Max had not been Celine's first man- much as she'd wanted him to be, the gods must have had other plans. Or else he might have been just that oblivious. But he was the only one she'd ever truly wanted, and she hoped that meant something. She was more than happy to spend every day for the rest of her life proving that, especially in ways like this.
It was not this way for everyone, Celine knew, but she had found for herself that sex in any of its forms was best with someone a person already trusted. Others might be tempted by lust, but while Celine was not immune to the beauty of an attractive male form, she knew that not everyone was what they seemed- years visiting in various courts from time to time had taught her that.
Speaking of attractive male forms, she wished for a moment that she had thought to bring her paints, and forgotten or ignored whatever mess they'd have made on the ship if they would have spilled. He'd look so handsome when she finally got a chance to paint his naked form. She smiled as best she could with him still in her mouth and increased the pace of her sucking. She wondered if Max would be able to read her thoughts at this very minute... and then, after she finished...for then... if he would agree to the idea. If only she'd known before the lover's pool that he had rarely if ever been thought of as handsome. She'd have painted him long ago, if only they'd confessed their love sooner.
If only.
If Celine had them, she would spend a thousand lifetimes making up for every single if only.

Maximus moaned when Celine continued to wrapped her lips around his privates. The harder she sucked, the more relaxed Maximus felt at ease his legs were trembling, wobbling as though they were turning into jelly. It wasn't like Maximus to feel this vulnerable. Spears were made to pernitrate as much damage to a soldier as possible but a simple suck by a woman and all men will fall to their whims. It was possibly why Maximus was constantly told that a man's weakness was a woman. "Where will we go?" Maximus asked as Celine silently sucked his pleasure center forcing grip his arms around hers.
Just as he said that, the door slammed open, before Maximus could act three men each wielding a shortsword rushed in one of them grabbing Celine by the hair pulling her away from Maximus. "You're coming with us!" The man said but Maximus pulled the naked young woman towards him. "You will not have her!" he shouted punching the thug in the face. Who were these people? Doesn't matter, they were enemies the moment they've laid their hands on Celine.
"Are you all right?" Maximus whispered grabbing his Xiphos. "Stay close to me and cover your eyes."

If Celine had not had her mouth on Maximus' privates, she would have asked him what exactly he was referring to, and where they should go. Right now, she'd go anywhere with him, she just felt an urgent need to get out of Taengea, the same one she'd had when she'd cried in Maximus' arms upon realizing where the ship had brought her. To think she was facing her fears was almost empowering- or would be once it was over.
But she hadn't expected the source of her fear to be right there in front of her as she sucked on her love's place of pleasure. Naked as the day she was born and on her knees on top of it- she couldn't even run yet, and so in a sense was perhaps more vulnerable for not being on her feet.
"I-I- it's them..." she managed, the shock of someone pulling her hair enough to bring tears to her eyes and causing a rather abrupt end to Celine and Max's lovemaking activities.
Her father's co-ambassadors. Not Basil's father, but two of the others. She didn't know who the third man was, but he also looked rather important- not to mention rather large, even though Celine herself was rather tall, even if she was fine-boned. She had to wonder how they had heard she was in Taengea. "I-I- they..."
All this time, everyone they'd known said it had been a summer storm which caused Celine's family's house and a few others to burn, but now she knew the truth just by looking at their faces. Her stomach dropped with dread, and she thought she might be about to vomit. She'd known there were some people who didn't agree with her father's policies, but to potentially harm an entire family was not something Celine would have necessarily expected. It was bad enough thinking about just her father being gone....
She'd thought no one had seen her board the merchant ship the day the ships left Colchis. And had they been following her this whole time? Had they seen them make love last night, or heard her barely stifled scream as she woke from a nightmare? How long had those three men been standing outside the tent? There were so many questions Celine wanted to ask them, and she probably would have, but the fact that someone had touched her had frightened her. She rolled from her knees to her feet and smacked the one who had pulled her hair across the face. Fair was fair!
She didn't bother directly addressing any of them, however. They weren't worth the time it would take to do that. Instead, she kept close to Max.
"Um...I will be," she whispered back, wiping her eyes, not able to answer honestly that she was all right, but trying to be brave about it. A pain in her chest was starting, but she covered the area where it hurt and looked into his eyes. "If we have to run- the temple of Hera. We can get married. And temples are places of safety." Celine knew it might be their best chance, and if worse came to worse, she might be able to lie and say that not all the warships had left yet so that they wouldn't think a soldier with xiphos in hand was deserting. She was, however, more than a little afraid to cover her eyes. If someone grabbed her again and it wasn't Max, she would want to know about it.
He probably doesn't want me to see him have to kill them, she thought, and gulped. She still didn't like the idea of not knowing who might touch her, but somehow, even though blood and dirt didn't generally frighten her, she liked the idea of seeing people her father knew killed even less.
She covered her eyes as Max had asked. "Just keep talking so I can tell where you are."

Maximus shook his head quickly grabbing his clothing and placing it over him. "There's no time to get married," he whispered to the naked Celine as he held his sword towards the men. "Just stick behind me and we'll get through this okay?" One of the men approached Maximus and Celine, shortsword gripped in his hand. "We don't want you!" he spat at Maximus. "We only want the girl! We'll have to kill you if you continue to be in our way."
"Well let's just say I'm no longer taking orders!" Maximus yelled kissing Celine on the lips. "I'll find you," he said. "Run."

In the midst of her fear, Celine's heart warmed. She hadn't even needed to tell him her fear that she might not be found before she had another lung attack. Celine gazed as deeply into his eyes as she could after their passionate kiss, her chest still hurting a little. "Don't let me--" She couldn't say it, but she knew she probably wouldn't have to. If the lung condition were to take her life, she didn't want to be alone when she went to the underworld. "They don't care- they'd be happy- if they don't want me for something...else." Her heart sped up even more at that thought.
Ransom, maybe. Or, gods forbid, sacrifice? To which god, though? She fought a shiver that seemed to want to overtake her from head to toe.
In any case, none of the possibilities of what these men could do were appealing to her in the least. She didn't even know where she should run to anymore, really- anywhere would do.
She forced herself to take a breath. Her chest burned as if she'd sucked in fire. But there was no time to panic now, regardless of any physical pain she might be causing herself.
There was no time to repeat her mantra, even if she could have mustered the air to do so, but she pictured him as he had been when she had seen him swimming in the lovers' pool. She was certainly no athlete, graceful as she was, but her passion for him would hopefully get her through this terrible ordeal. Their love was worth any pain she might endure.
I love you, I love you, I love you, ten thousand times and more.
Oh gods, breathing hurt! Hermes help her, why did she have to be human? Gods, please don't let me fall.
Celine knew that she was likely not going to get very far. But she had to try. She knew he might be able to see how it was hurting her to breathe, but she didn't have a choice about that now.
She held his gaze one more time and sprinted toward the temple complex. Any one would do at this point. She hoped the gods would be kind.

The fat man clumsily was about to unsheathe his sword. However a just as his fingers reached its hilt. The fat man’s hand was cleaved off from his wrist in horizontal slash. The man howled in pain as blood gushed from his stump and he fell down crying and trying to stop the bleeding.
A streak of blood splattered on Damon face. He zeroed in on the two remaining men who had their weapons out in fear, their hands shaking in fear at boy who took their leader down in a split second.
Maximus analyzed the two men’s weapon of choice. The skinny man was wielding an iron dagger. The blade was rusted, the man obviously hadn’t taken care of his weapon. The second man wielded an Steel Mace. It was in decent condition it’s spikes protruded out and the suns rays reflected on the weapon.
Judging by the quality of the items. Damon guessed that the one with the Mace will attack first. He adjusted his stance so that he can dodge if necessary. The man with the Mace roared as he charged at Damon flailing wildly like a wild animal. Maximus dodged his careless charge and slashed him in the back. Blood came instantly from the mans exposed backside as he let out string of curses.
Wasting little time, Maximus decapitated the screaming man. His head slowly tumbled off his shoulders and landed on the ground. His body landing on it. Maximus felt the adrenaline coming to him. Maximus felt a sharp pain in his right shoulder. The skinny man took advantage while Maximus was distracted. Blood came out, but Maximus hardly felt the pain. Maximus punched the man in the stomach, yanked the knife out and finished him off with a Longsword to the gut.
The young man examined the corpses while sheathed his sword. "Need to get back to Celine," he thought before he felt immense pain from the back of his head. Maximus fell to his knees and the last thing he saw were two hooded men grabbing him.

She ran until she couldn't anymore. She made it quite far, but not far enough not to look back and see the dead men when she stopped to make sure she had lost them.
Blood and dirt didn't phase her.
But one headless body did, and as she tried to breathe, she vomited instead. Oh gods it hurt, and tasted like she'd swallowed a coin to boot.
She staggered dizzily with the last of her strength, only able to make it as far as to her knees before she collapsed on the ground entirely.
She woke minutes later aboard something that moved, which only made her vomit even more. It crossed her mind to wonder where she was and who exactly had her if the men who threatened Celine were now dead. Her jaw hurt, jarred a little from her fall, and her head still whirled, but she remembered that before she hit the ground her last thought had been of Maximus. Where was he if the men were dead?
Even though she still couldn't breathe quite right and could only manage a whimper of pain, she tried to sit up, sensing a presence beside her.
Maximus, probably. Hopefully.
Gods, just let him hold me again. That's all I ask. She prayed.
She coughed uneasily at the dust from the moving vehicle she was now aboard. But feeling her way around even though she was still unsteady, she somehow managed to lift Maximus' head into her lap.
Her still very naked lap.
Oh no. She might be in danger of being violated if someone found her...
But she tried not to think about it as she managed a cough that squeaked as it left her mouth.
"Kali mou," she whispered brokenly. Her throat felt dry.
My handsome one.
She sang softly with what little strength of voice she had left, hoping to wake him, a childrens' lullaby, but one that mentioned a wedding, and somehow fit to her, considering their love.
Make no noise, no sudden shock, My little child is sleeping; Nani! Nani! Nani! Nani! Be all his sufferings healed! The sun sleeps on the mountains, the partridge in the fields, My little child is sleeping between the linen white; Sleep sleeps upon the mountain, the partridge in the wood, My little child is sleeping to take his fill of sleep. Sleep, my child, with fond caresses, Sleep nourished with perfumes, Joy be with thine awakening, And cakes for thy wedding day!

Maximus stirred as he slowly opened his eyes there was the sound of hooves stomping against the ground combined with men speaking in an unknown tongue. Maximus felt his limp body go back and forth giving a feeling of nausea, pain exploded in his head as the young man clutched his temples. What in Ares' name happened, Maximus took care of the men who were trying to kidnap Celine and the next thing he knew he was knocked with the last people he saw two men with their faces shrouded in hoods. Were they working with the kidnappers whom Maximus killed? So many questions too much for a wounded ex-soldier.
“Kali mou,”
There was a voice who whispered next Maximus it sounded hoarse and parched. Handsome one? Was it Celine? It had to be for it was accompanied by a song a lullaby something that Celine told Maximus that was something her mother sang to him when she was a child. "Ugh," Maximus whispered. "Celine?" He said slowly getting up and noticing that she was naked. "Where are we? How did we get captured?"

"I don't know, kali mou, just please hold me, if you have the energy..." Now that she knew he was all right, tears were streaking her cheeks. "You saved my life...again..."
And again and again and again, a million times.
She didn't quite know where the strength to sing came from when she was so weak otherwise.
"It hurts to breathe- but I'll be all right. This is my fault, and I already know that. I don't deserve you, my darling...."
She wanted to be held, needed it to be able to breathe, but she didn't feel she deserved it when she was the one who got them into this mess in the first place by coming to Taengea to confess her love for him.
"Are you all right?" Her voice, weak though it was, carried both love and concern. She stroked his face, as much checking for injuries as caressing him lovingly.
The fact that she had been singing just made the whole experience feel more surreal. And then it hit her. "I've never sung before. Not like that. Not for the one I love- before now. I probably sounded horrible, from the attack, but I swear I meant every word." She smiled weakly. How she adored him! There was a gleam in her eye from love despite that every part of her felt weary. Once she had her strength back, she would feel like making love to him until they couldn't anymore. She needed it for both their sakes, needed his love to heal her soul from the intense fright she'd just experienced, but also, she needed to make love to him to show her appreciation for his valor. If only it didn't hurt so much to breathe!
The last of her strength failed her, and she slumped, spent, though she was still on her knees.
"What language is that? I can't tell yet. I'm still dizzy." How was she still talking? Either the gods must be helping her or she was delirious, and she suspected both things might be the case.
