Captain Hector of Arcana ,
I hope this letter reaches you in fair tidings. I struggled to find a proper way to show gratitude for your actions at the docks in the previous weeks. Without you I, and my youngest sister, could have been in true danger. And to go beyond that and escort me home shows the marks of a true man- selfless in the face of danger.
I did not want simply send you a monetary gift (though if that is what you desire, do let me know.) for I did not believe that could show the true extent of my gratitude. I painted a portrait of that night for you to hang on your wall. (But if you don’t find it to your taste, you don’t have to! Please feel free to return it and I will give you something more suited to your liking.)
Thank you again. Should you ever be in need of assistance, please do not be afraid to reach out,
Lady Marietta of Antonis
The portrait is unique in the sense that it is painted from the center outward. In the center of the painting is a dock, grey and navy, rain pouring from the nheavens. In the middle ring the color gets lighter. It depicts silhouettes fighting what looks to be a wind tunnel, with trees moving this way and that. The right side of the middle ring shows ships as they begin to crash into each other. On the furthest ring, the sun is shining. On the left side of the portrait is the Palati, a beacon of hope away from the storm. The right side is the clear ocean, glimmering in the sun’s rays.
