"When did I become a babysitter for the nobility?" Skylla mumbled to herself as she worked on packing her bag for travel. First Lady Nia, and now Lady Fumisa? She had been under the impression that her duties had been to the queen and the queen alone, but that did not seem to be the case in this instance. The physician had been asked to tend to one of the H'Abaddi brood, and though Skylla complained about it in her workshop, she had no actual complaints about being able to leave the Evening Star Palace. She took every chance she absolutely could to leave and explore the city.
So long as it kept her out from under the thumb of the Pharaoh or the Dowager Queen. So Skylla huffed quietly about having to walk across the city, but did not actually feel annoyance at having to perform such a task at all. In truth, she just wanted to appear grouchy. She was feeling petulant that day and it was so much easier to pretend to be upset over being given a task out of her job description than it was to actually make herself upset.
In truth, she was elated. As she walked out of the Palace, her bag slung across her body, Skylla did her absolute best to keep the spring out of her step. One afternoon out of sight of the Pharaoh? That was an absolute dream. Maybe she could milk it and wander to the market later, if only to catch sight of Callidora and her stall of wares that she was now selling. That sounded like a perfect way to end her day, but only after she had tended to Lady Fumisa's cold.
Her pack was stuffed with herbs and remedies, and as the woman trailed up the path to the H'Abaddi manor within the city, she paused to glance at the guards. "My name is Skylla and I have been sent here at the behest of the queen to tend to Lady Fumisa. Is there a Lord or Lady of the house that I may speak to first about the patient?" Skylla asked with little inflection to her words and a sour expression on her pretty features. One of the guards went back into the home without answering her and Skylla took a moment to look about the property, looking for ways that she could later leave without truly being seen.
And then the guard returned to fetch the physician, leading her into the homestead and depositing her into the sitting room without telling her who she would be meeting on this day.
