To Crown Princess Emilia of Xanthos,
I humbly write to implore you to take action.
My sympathies go to you and your family in the wake of your sister, Queen Persephone's disappearance. I, alone, speak for my family in his regard when I say we hope she is found and returned home safe and soon.
Sympathies aside, you must see what is happening to her people. Your people. I understand it was never the Queen's, nor your intention to have the responsibilities of our great nation thrust upon you in such unfortunate circumstances. I can understand you may be fearful of this sudden pressure, and are trying to seek advice before you action anything. This is wise, and a sign of a good leader.
However, timing is everything in this world, and deliberation will come to nothing if you miss your window of opportunity. The time has come for you to take action. It is of utmost importance that you do so, not Elias, no matter the relationship you share.
I implore you to think about what your sister, the Queen, would want from you in these moments in time, to think about what she would expect of you. These are her people in your care now, once your father's people, and it is also her name that is being dragged through the mud, along with the Xanthos family name.
I cannot imagine a Xanthos would stand for it, after all your father worked for, after all your sister, the Queen, has worked for.
I must be blunt - if you continue to deliberate on this, and postpone action, by the time you do come forth, it will be too late. Civil war threatens our lands and shores, and for the moment you are the only hope we have to circumvent it.
If you do not, your people will remember that you did nothing, and your family's hard earned status will crumble under the weight of that collective memory.
I implore you, Princess Emilia.
You humble servant,
Lord Panos of Marikas
