I will do anything for my love. He is my god. And you? Are worth no more words.
“Ohhh! That’s so good!” Issa squealed from her computer. She had been excited for this thread for so long. Finally Kesi got to kill her father. She absolutely deserved it. The man was a monster. The other roleplayer wrote him so well. Honestly, Issa was nervous when he was first picked up. She was afraid he would have the personality of a brick wall.
Over the past few months, Issa had been obsessed with this website, Aeipathy. She had always been nervous to try forum roleplays. Something about them always seemed intimidating. She was afraid she would mess something up, or people would make fun of her, or that no one would want to roleplay with her. But after talking to an old friend, he convinced her that it was worth giving it a shot! And boy, was Issa happy that she did. She found a nice community and fell in love with her character, Kesi. Kesi had a tragic life, and she was a little crazy, but Issa hoped that one day Kesi would find closure. The first step was to kill her father, something that the other player was so kind in letting her do.
“Whatcha doing, nerd?” Her sister had just walked into her room. As she passed by Issa, she flicked her head- hard. “Are you doing that silly roleplay stuff? Is it that circus freak again? Of course you would write a freak.”
“Shut it, Akila!” Issa whined elbowing her mean older sister. “You’re such a bully!” Ugh, she was the worst.
“Shut it, Akila. You’re such a bully. Wah, wah.” Akila mocked her in a high pitched voice. She really was such a jerk. Akila always seemed to be angry about something. She also had this stupid smug attitude about her. Just because she was the oldest didn’t mean she could be mean! “Whatever. Aunt Tythra wanted me to tell you dinner was ready.”
“But I was in the mid-” Issa started to say but Akila just raised her scarred eyebrow. Akila got into way too many fights in school. Issa was fairly satisfied to see that scarred though. She hoped it would teach Akila to stop fighting. Unfortunately, she seemed to wear it like a badge of honor. “Ugh, fine.”
Issa saved her work and closed her laptop. As she left, she saw her twin cousins Melina and Marietta walking out of the guest room. Her extended family was visiting from Greece. Honestly, Issa found them a bit odd. Aunt Tythra was a very… demanding person, but Melina and Marietta were very shy and awkward.
“Hi,” both of them said quietly like the creepy twins they were and went down the stairs. Akila and Issa just exchanged a glance with each other. Issa didn’t want to be racist, but was there something off about Greeks? Or maybe it was just her family. Honestly, it was probably the family.
Issa followed her sister down the stairs and sat at the table. Her Aunt Tythra seemed to be chatting her mother’s ear off. Her mother had a smile on her face, but Issa could tell that she was really annoyed.
“Honestly, Selima, just consider it. Two thousand dollars, that’s all you need, and in a year it would triple. Honestly, I predict the stock prices will just continue to soar. You would never have to worry about Aki- well, Issa’s college fund again.” Tythra was talking as she typed on her phone.
“I’ve already saved for both their college funds, Tythra, dear.” her mother gave Tythra a curt smile. “The salad is finished.” With that, her mother turned on her heel and headed towards the table. Issa tried not to laugh. Her mother never liked Issa’s father’s family, but she always made an attempt. Even after he passed on, Selima always put family first. Akila and Issa never told her they didn’t much like them either. “Shall we pray?”
“Wha- Oh, right.” Tythra looked taken aback but settled into an uncomfortable silence. Her mother led the prayer and then food was served. The silence remained for a good bit. God, Issa just wanted this dinner to be over.
“What were you giggling at?” Melina was the first to speak. She looked at Issa. “I heard you giggling in your room.”
Issa felt a bit of heat tinge her cheeks. “Not-”
“Oh, she roleplays. ” Akila cut her off. “She likes to pretend she’s a circus freak.”
“Akila!” Issa whined. “Shut up!”
“She writes some really messed up things too.” Akila continued on, ignoring Issa. “She writes someone with multiple personalities that gets abused. And she murders her own father. Or she was about to. I bet you she was writing it right now.”
“I told you not to read my stuff!” Issa wanted to hide under a rock. She was mortified.
“Should you be writing that?” Her mother questioned, eyes flickering to Issa. “I thought you were writing innocent things. Like little crushes and friendship. I didn’t hear anything about abuse and murder. I don’t think you should be on that website.”
“I would have to agree with Selima, dear. That website sounds much too violent for a young girl like you.” Tythra tutted at Issa. Issa started to feel tears well up in her eyes.
“And people call me weird,” Marietta muttered under her breath… which honestly could have been her normal voice. Issa rarely heard her talk, and when she did talk it wasn’t very loud.
Issa felt like her world was crumbling down before her. All because of her stupid sister. She was the worst. Her whole family was the worst!
“You don’t get it!” Issa shouted as she left the table. Her mother had called for her to sit back down but Issa was gone. She burst into her room and dove onto her bed, shoving her face into the pillow and shouting, “I wish I had a different family!”

Your wish is my command. You receive a letter in the mail only days later. It is full of newspaper clippings and handwritten letters. What's this? A birth certificate and a note addressed to you? It is your brother, @iason, writing to inform you that you were stolen at birth. He wishes to get you out of your home and back to the safety of your true family...
But when you arrive in the forested hills of your new family's home, you notice a few things. No electricity. Few luxuries. And your bedroom door? There's a lock on the outside.
