Kesi and danger went hand-in-hand. Her brother ran a circus with a headlining show in one of Vegas’s most lucrative casino hotels. Kesi had a good position in the circus. She was an acrobat, with a specialty in hoops. They say money corrupts… and boy did it corrupt Kesi. Her mind twisted, blurring reality and fiction. The need for blood pulsating in her veins. Kesi and danger went hand-in-hand because Kesi was danger.
Of course, Kesi was forced into therpay. It was a weird hypno-therapy. She would have to relive memories of her other personalities, memories that didn’t belong to her. She didn’t understand why she had to know about them. She didn’t want to know about them. Desire. Anger. Protection. She didn’t want to know anything at all.
Kesi didn’t want to go to the therapist. She was miserable each and every time she had gone there. She wasn’t crazy. So what that she had multiple personalities in her head? They didn’t bother her so why did she have to fix them? They helped her even! Desire got Kesi what she wanted, Protection kept Kesi from getting hurt, and Anger got revenge for Kesi when she wasn’t able to do it herself. They were great! Sure, Kesi would have blank moments of time where she had no idea where she was but… that was fine right?
“Why are they emotions, Kesi? Why aren’t they named?” The therapist asked her.
“I dunno.” Kesi hated answering the therapist.
“Kesi.” The therapist tried again.
“Because that’s how I feel.” Kesi answered. Ding. A soft echoey chime resounded around the room. She could hear her ears vibrate. She knew what it did. Neural condition. She was trying to reinforce answering with the sound. The circus toyed with hypnotism.
“Good,” the therapist’s voice remained soft. “Now, why don’t we try pulling a personality out, hm? How about Desire?”
“I-I don’t want to.” Kesi stuttered. She wanted to stay in control. Kesi didn’t desire anything right now. There was no reason for Desire to come out to play.
Ding.
Ding.
Ding…
When Kesi awoke, she was not in the therapist’s office. She felt a gentle rocking. She was in a bed. It was comfortable, it was warm. The room looked like it was a hotel room. But it was moving… odd.
How did she get here?
Kesi opened the door and there was a hall. She looked left, she looked right. Nothing. She tip toed out the door and past a window and then she saw it- the ocean. It was blue, brighter than she had ever seen before. Where am I?
“Hello?” Kesi called out as she walked down onto the deck. It was massive. A pool with a hot tub was on it, and lots of plush tanning chairs were around. Where was the staff of this place? The… captain? “Hello?” She called out again. “Is anyone there?”

The sea was her friend. Her only friend, really. She valued it above all else because it was the only thing that hadn't failed her in her life. That was, at least, until little Kesi had stumbled upon her on the Vegas strip. Fast friends, at least Skylla had thought, they'd gotten drunk, a little high, made some quick cash in the casinos...
Then Skylla had rented a car and convinced Kesi to drive with her. Drive until there was nowhere left to drive and the shore met the sea. From there, she'd rented them a yacht with a bunch of the money that they had won and flung them out onto the ocean. It was peaceful here, and they'd been travelling up the coast of California for the last half day. Slowly, as a sedate pace that the Captain of the yacht seemed intent on following.
That didn't bother Skylla. That meant that they could take their time. She'd slept a while and woken early enough to see the sunrise. Then she'd tanned a bit, just relaxing and drinking heavily into the champagne on board. She was on her third glass when she heard the melodic voice of her companion.
Sighing sweetly to herself, the tanned bombshell of a woman stretched out on the tanning chair and started to rise, her yellow bikini showing brightly in the morning sunlight. Smiling, she approached Kesi, reaching out to trail her fingers against the woman's neck and brought her in for a quick kiss. "Good morning, princess," she said with a sweet lilt. "You're awake," she cooed as she let go of the woman.
Then Skylla was trailing toward the yacht's bar. "Do you want a mimosa? I could probably use another. And some food. There's some snacks here," she observed lightly. "You were so tired when we got to the boat last night," she hummed, "You never ate anything before bed," Skylla added and then turned to motion her closer again.
"Don't worry. I didn't use all the money we won for the yacht," she promised, "Theres still plenty more to play with," and now Skylla was grinning, pleased that her friend was awake and ready to play now that they were afloat atop the water.
