Two cosmopolitans in and this party was still not anymore enjoyable. For the most part, it was filled with rich assholes bragging about their children. Oh, my child is top of their class at Harvard Law. Well my child just got a grant at Oxford for research in anthropology. La di da, Eliana gave exactly no shits about these people and their children. And when she politely answered any questions she gave them it was met with some judgemental gaze, like studying economics wasn’t good enough for them. Doesn’t your uncle run those little casinos? Like they didn’t see the Kassotis name all up and down the Vegas strip when they were there blowing their slush fund on hookers and cocaine.
Honestly, Eliana had no intention to return to her family this holiday break. She hadn’t the past two, making excuses like she was interning or working for some sorority. She hated being with her family for various reasons (Yes, she was a girl with daddy issues- back off), and these parties were one of the many problems she had with the Kassotis. If they were hosts Eliana could tolerate it. The one thing the Kassotis knew was how to throw a party. But this wasn’t a Kassotis party. To be honest, she had no idea who was hosting it. All she knew was that it was boring as hell and she wanted nothing to do with it.
But she hadn’t been given a choice. If there was one thing her father knew how to do it was how to follow through on a threat. Had she not returned home for the holidays she could kiss her tuition goodbye. Eliana was 20 years old. She wasn’t prepared to be alone and cut off from her family. She needed their money- and their unlimited credit card.
So here she was at a party that Rhea had already managed to ditch and Pallas having found the first two pretty ladies he could find was off entertaining them elsewhere. The majority of everyone left was boring, judgemental adults or other people her age that looked to be clones of their parents in all the worst ways. Yeah- she needed a third cocktail.
As she was waiting for her third drink to be poured, her father’s secretary walked to Eliana in her far too-tight dress and heels that she could break an ankle on. Eliana didn’t bother to remember the girl’s name, just her face and the last four digits of her cell phone number so she knew what call to never pick up. Anything more would mean spending more time with her father than she was willing to give him, “Your father wanted to see you talk to someone.” Her plastic face turned towards a man. “Silanos Valoraitis.”
Oh fuck no. Eliana groaned. First, she didn’t want to get set up with any man her father wanted. Second, she didn’t necessarily want to talk with Sil. She remembered being forced to talk to him when they were children. He was… well… she just didn’t want to go there. And in fact, she was about to snap no when she noticed the girl wasn’t even looking at her. She was too busy scrolling through her phone. “Oh, and he said you don’t have to do this. He’d just want the platinum card back.”
With that, she walked away, leaving Eliana in a mood that was worsening by the second. For half a second she contemplated throwing her credit card at her father, but that would leave her up shit creek and with nothing to support herself. She had no savings, all she had was the cash in her wallet. She took her third drink (after asking for another shot of vodka) then made her way onto the balcony and towards Sil. She leaned against it, taking a sip of her cosmopolitan. “Can you look like you’re flirting with me for… fifteen minutes. That should be fine.”

Sil was...well...fucking bored already. He knew all too well who was hosting this party - his mother - and the reason why he was stuck here instead of being at one of the numerous other places he could have been at. It seemed unfathomly cruel, on New Year’s of all nights, to have constrained him to this godawful soiree and he was damn sure his mother knew it too. Glumly, he sloshed too much jack into a glass and added a dash of coke, just enough to change the colour. If she thought he was staying sober for this fiasco she had another thing coming. He’d also been given the talk from his mother about not fooling around with any of the girls in attendance, highlighting the fact that the pool house incident hadn’t been forgotten but also neatly ruling out any fun at all to be had.
Silanos had fully intended to spend his night getting fucked up with his friends. They were all back home for the holidays, and Dan’s parents had been kind enough to fuck off and leave their child alone for New Year so he was throwing a party which would have embodied what the word should mean. Not this sorry middle-aged ‘drinks and canapes’ bullshit. Silanos eyes the diminutive morsels on offer with a scowl. What the fuck was with canapes anyway? What was wrong with normal-sized food? He’d already snagged a family sized bag of chips from the kitchen and had them tucked under his arm, ignoring the dirty look his older brother sent him as he picked up his drink and took that and his chips toward the balcony. He’d worn the goddamn tux, and now he was expected to starve too?
Tim, of course, was busy being the ideal son and making Sil look bad, but there was nothing new there. If he wanted to spend all night chatting to old people about business interests then let him, Sil sure as hell wasn’t about to. That was his duty as older brother anyway, due to step up into the family business now he was back from his travels. Good luck to him. Sil’s grand plans involved...not doing that. Ever, if he could avoid it.
Outside, the air was cold and his breath hung in vapour clouds even before he set the glass down on the balustrade and rooted for a cigarette. He’d just gotten it wedged between his lips and was cupping his hands around the flame of the lighter when a spill of light fell over the terrace and a girl emerged from inside.
Sil took his first drag and slid a sideways glance toward her, only to blink a couple of times and do a double-take. Eliana Kassotis. One of those awkward forced aquaintances born of their parents knowing eachother, they had - miraculously - stopped forcing them to hang out once they got to be teenagers ( Sil couln’t possibly fathom why), but they didn’t exactly run in the same crowds so Sil had no idea why she’d come out here, and even less why she was asking him to make it look like he was flirting with her. He quirked a brow and gave a small laugh
“Now why would I do that?” he asked, giving her a once over as he took another pull on the cigarette. “ Got some aged sugar daddy in there you’re trying to make jealous?”

He quirked a brow and gave a small laugh
“Now why would I do that?” he asked, giving her a once over as he took another pull on the cigarette. “ Got some aged sugar daddy in there you’re trying to make jealous?”
“Mmm, you read me like a book, don’t you, Sil?” Eliana said with an eye roll, as she leaned past him and to the bag of chips he had stashed here. Where he got this- she didn’t know. This was probably his family’s party or something. But she was starving and she could only have so many of these bite-sized pieces of crap that wouldn’t even feed a model before she wanted to scream. She pulled a potato chip out and happily popped it in her mouth.
Her dark eyes glanced back inside and saw her father talking with none other than Sil’s mother. She didn’t know what they were talking about- probably some boring nonsense on her father’s end. She knew it was a power play, her father was doing it on purpose to piss her off. The fucking prick. She felt a throbbing in her head and for a moment she considered going back on her vow to quit smoking. She was Vegas born and raised, where there was much worse than cigarettes that could kill you. Her brother’s OD taught her that much. And Sil smoking right now made it that much more enticing.
Instead, she’d ignore the headache for now and talk. “Our parents are talking.” Eliana’s chin tilted towards the adults, before shifting her eyes back to Sil. “So we can flirt for fifteen minutes to make both of them happy, and I can reject you, or you can reject me I really don’t mind, and continue to suffer this part-” Would her father make him talk to his older brother next? Oh, god. “Tim isn’t here is he?” She asked, her nose delicately wrinkling.
Okay, Yale is $74,920 a year. Eliana thought to herself, doing the math quickly. Cost of living another $22,979 It’s not like Eliana hasn’t done this math every day of her life. She knew the exact amount she would need to make a month ($8,158.25, if you’re curious) and knew the only way she could make that money would be by counting cards (which when her uncle and father own the majority of the casinos in Vegas, and are business partners with the other owners- she’d step foot in one and instantly be caught), or selling her body- Or maybe a sugar daddy really wasn’t a bad idea. At least then she wouldn’t have to talk to Tim. Her memories from her childhood didn’t necessarily paint him in the best light.
Fuck this. Eliana was dealt a shitty hand and either she could fold and lose the entire pot, or she could bluff and hope that’ll be good enough for her father. So she put on the prettiest smile for Sil and took another sip of cosmopolitan. “Your drink is looking like it could be topped off, Sil. And there’s still an hour until midnight.” The party was still going to take way too fucking long. “Should we go top it off?” Getting drunk was the only way she would live through this night. Hopefully, Sil would be more than willing to play along.

His answer was just a ‘prove me wrong’ look, visible through the stream of smoke that curled out of his nostrils. Eliana got her revenge though when she helped herself to his emergency party rations, and the young man went so far as to take the cigarette out of his mouth so he might properly remonstrate with her.
“The fuck you think you are? Get your own snacks” he said, snatching the bag back off her with an indignant look. He was ready to fight her for them if it came down to it. He had planned to hole up out here for the rest of the night, and if he had to go back in to get more supplies, then he was risking being dragged into a conversation he didn’t want with people he didn’t fucking like. No thanks.
But Eliana didn't make a move to retake the chips, instead jerked her head toward the party inside and Silanos tracked her gaze, pulling a face as she spoke. He could see his mother smiling at whatever Mr Kassotis had to say, but Sil gave a shake of his head. “I really don’t think me flirting with you is going to make my mother happy,” he said a touch bitterly. You got caught one time with Melody Carmichael at one of these stuffy events and all of a sudden you were considered a liability. It had been unfortunate that it had been the girl’s grandfather that had walked on in them, admittedly, but Jesus, how long was that going to be held against him for? It wasn’t like the girl had been some blushing virgin; half the block had been in her at some point.
‘...Tim isn’t here, is he?’
“In there, somewhere” Sil knocked the ash off the cigarette with one hand whilst taking a big gulp of his drink with the other and waved vaguely towards the interior. If Eliana wanted to go take her chances with him, then good luck to her. He had his drink, smokes and now his chips and was fully intending to stay out here and see in the New Year whilst feeling sorry for himself.
He’d just turned to lean on the stone balustrade, expecting Eliana to wander off to find his brother when she spoke again, and Sil glanced over his shoulder at her looking mildly surprised at the smile she directed his way. His drink didn’t technically need topping off, but if she was truly finding this event as tiresome as he was then maybe she would make passable company.
“Alright” He pushed up to standing again, diligently collected his bag of chips and ground the cigarette out onto the stone before flicking it over the railing, It wasn’t worth invoking his mother’s wrath by walking through the house smoking. With an over the top flourish, he bade Eliana go in ahead of him, though when they were inside, Silanos stepped past her and walked right through the middle of the party, not even bothering to make eye contact with anyone. It was a survival technique he’d developed over the years, and if it wasn’t broke, don’t fix it. He also walked past the bar and through to the back of the house and into the kitchen, not waiting to see if Eliana was following.
When they were safe, Sil went straight for the top right cupboard and drew out a bottle of Clase Azul, turning to brandish it triumphantly as he gathered she had also made it this far unscathed.
“It is New Years’ after all,” he said blithely, sloshing it generously into a couple of glasses. “Might as well make it a party. Unless..” he eyed her glass disdainfully. "You're sticking with that fruity shit."

Greedy. Eliana had thought when he snatched the chips away. No wonder he was out here all by his lonesome- the grump. Well, no that actually explained nothing. The party was terribly dulll, and the only people her age were the people forced to be here - (of which really at this point it seemed to be this pair) or the children that were clones of their parents, and thus the type that made Eliana want to put a bullet in her head.
He flourished for Eliana to walk ahead- which she did, having expecting to go straight to the bar. Instead, Silanos decided to step in front of her and Eliana found herself walking straight through the middle of the party, mildly confused, but at least willing to follow the man who looked confident enough. What the hell. Well she’s doing what her father wanted her to do- and he can’t claim otherwise now.
It made a little more sense when he entered the kitchen, knowing right where the good alcohol was. “Oh, shut up. It's classy.” Eliana said with an eye roll, though she happily took her glass. “Tequilla though...? Now you’re speaking my language.” That being said, there was nothing wrong with a cosmopolitan- both were equally capable of getting you drunk.
Eliana decided to get herself comfortable by hopping onto the ridiculously large island counter to sit. Her feet dangled below her, throbbing for being in strappy heels for far too long. Eliana’s dark eyes looked around, before falling back onto Sil.
I mean, if you squint a bit he’s kinda cute. Was it the tequila talking? Maybe. But she had to remember her dad wanted her to talk to him, which automatically meant that something was wrong with him and Eliana should hate Sil with every fiber of her being. To garner the interest of the Great Orion Kassotis must mean you’re an asshole in one way or another… beyond just being horribly clingy with chips.
She had opened her mouth to ask him how long they should hide back here when something caught her eye, “Oh!” She said jumping back off the counter. She made her way towards one part of the kitchen where she saw tucked in the corner various cereal boxes. (Of which she totally didn’t judge. She may be 20 years old, but she’d still cut a bitch if they took her Cocoa Puffs). “Do you know I used to get so mad because I would get to the bottom of the cereal box and there would be no toy. And I could never understand why. And my dad would get annoyed and just tell me to go buy a better toy. But I wanted the cereal one. And I would eat cereal after cereal until my stomach hurt and never get a toy. Then, I learned my asshole brother opened them from the bottom.” Eliana grabbed one of the unopened cereal boxes and flipped it upside down, opening it from the bottom. She pulled out a small transformers keychain. Wow, kids had it lame anymore, didn’t they?
“Catch!” She tossed the keychain towards Sil, before gently putting the cereal back and going back to her spot on the counter. She took a swig of her tequilla, giving a more genuine smile this time towards Sil. “So what, do we just hide down here until midnight? What’s the plan, Mr. Confident?”

‘Oh, shut up. It’s classy’ Sil tipped his head to the side and shot the girl a look that told her exactly what he thought of that claim, but he slid the tequila down the granite countertop to her anyway, before moving off to rummage through the refrigerator for something or other. Remerging with a lime, he dumped it on the side before spinning away again.
Salt, he needed salt. With a glance at the endless cupboards, Sil realised he really didn’t know where the fuck anything was in this house. Outside of the things he needed for survival; drink, chips and stupidly sugary cereal, he’d never paid much attention to his where his Mother kept things. That was a problem now. There was a bemused look on his face as he opened door after door, only pausing in his search when his guest started prattling on about cereal.
“Sounds like a conversation you should have with your therapist,” he said with an eye-roll, even as he caught the bit of plastic junk she hurled at him and turned it over in his palm before tossing it on the side. He’d just found the right cupboard when Eliana spoke again.
“What the fuck is Black Lava Salt?” he asked incredulously as he picked up a box and then set it down again. And then. “I don’t have a plan. I was intending to hide out on the balcony until everyone fucked off home, but you ruined that.” With what looked like some normal goddamn salt in his hand, he turned to look at Eliana. “You wanna stay in here? We can stay in here. Given up on the idea of pleasing Daddy have you?”
Even though he wasn’t quite sure what the Kassotis man thought to achieve by having Eliana speak to him. As he kept being reminded, he wasn’t the golden child of the Valaoritis family. Eliana’s family made their money in Vegas, and Silanos couldn’t imagine why on what must be one the busiest nights of the year for them, they’d chosen to come to his Mother’s lame-ass party. “ So what sin did you commit to get dragged over here tonight then? Or just didn’t get any better offers?”
Cutting directly on to the stone, Sil chopped the lime into wedges and then chucked a half at Eliana before motioning for her hand. His fingers wrapped around her wrist as he lifted her hand toward her mouth. “Now lick, there’s a good girl. Get it nice and wet.”

“Oh you don’t want to hear the conversations I have with my therapist,” Eliana joked, though there was a hidden morsel of truth in that statement. God her family was fucked up; They were the casino family depicted in every crime movie- except for the fact they haven’t gotten caught. But drunk or sober, Eliana was sure as fuck not about to open that can of worms.
Given up on the idea of pleasing Daddy, have you? Eliana shot him a glare now. “Oh, your little parade through the middle of the party would have made him very pleased.” The more Eliana talked to Sil the more she realized why her dad chose him over any other stuffy guy at this party. He was the exact type of person he’d want to keep the party alive in the casinos. Wasn’t Pallas good enough on his own for that? Or Uncle Diogenes?
And then he asked her about what sin she committed. They’d need more than tonight for her to finish the list, with the cherry on top being the underground crime her father did so their family remained rich. And so to Sil’s question Eliana just made a face that clearly said ‘Don’t go there.’ She had daddy issues and didn’t need him poking at how obvious they fucking were. When you were this rich who didn’t have issues with one parent (or both)?
But it was his next statement that brought Eliana to a rather unattractive, but very amused, snort. She happily obliged, licking her hand for the salt. Salt-Shot-Lime. The tequila burned down her throat and she sucked on the lime wedge, looking at Sil. Okay, she was drunk now, she decided. Because she was actually having fun. And because she didn’t have lunch- dumb decision. She should have known there wasn’t real food here.
Hmm… She pondered as her gaze left Sil and towards the freezer. Boozy Milkshakes? Maybe he had been right about the sweet thing- though Eliana didn’t really mind how she had her alcohol as long as she ended up drunk, and tonight Eliana wanted to be smashed.
“Boozy milkshakes?” She suggested as she went to the freezer and very easily found ice cream. That was easy enough, so long as it was mostly tequila and less ice cream. What were they missing though? Whipped cream…? Oh, they could have fun with that.
Eliana gave a mischievous little smile as she looked in the fridge and spotted a can of whip cream. “I’m sure you won’t mind this on top.” She tested it on her finger, sucking the bit of it off. Eliana had a major sweet tooth, but mixed with the drinks all in her in her system, she sought to share it with Sil. (Unlike him, who wouldn’t even share a bag of chips, the bastard). Walking back towards him she placed the carton of ice cream on the counter and giggled, holding the can near Sil’s mouth. “Now lick, there’s a good boy. Get a nice taste.”

Walking back towards him she placed the carton of ice cream on the counter and giggled, holding the can near Sil’s mouth. “Now lick, there’s a good boy. Get a nice taste.”
Sil gave a wry chuckle, he didn’t need much convincing that he’d be better off not knowing whatever issues Eliana had to complain about. That, and well, he didn’t really care. Everyone had their own shit to deal with didn’t they? Either way, he obviously touched a nerve when it came to her father and the young man smirked and gave a little shrug. “It’s my fucking house. I’ll parade if I want to.” His general goal in life was not to please other people’s parents, and for a moment, Silanos wondered if he was losing his touch. That or Eliana’s father was fucking weird, which was also a distinct possibility.
Whatever, they had a plan now, and it involved tequila and winding up this little princess a bit more.
But to her credit, Eliana took the shot well enough with nowhere near as much grimacing and squawking as some girls he knew, and he was just about to line up another when she shimmied off the counter and headed across the kitchen, her suggestion of boozy milkshakes being met with a shrug. “Sure, why not?”
Silanos turned and leant against the counted, watching her only a tad dubiously as she rooted out ice cream and then opened the refrigerator looking for god knows what. Seemed she wasn’t quite ready to leave her sweet drinks behind her.
‘I’m sure you won’t mind this on top’
His gaze narrowed a touch when she wandered back over toward him, plonking the ice cream down on the counter next to where his hands curled behind his back and brandishing the can of whipped cream like a weapon. And he shook his head a little at her next words, the smirk from before reappearing a moment.
“Touche”
Still, he dutifully stuck out his tongue, the aerosol cream cloyingly sweet after the lime. Gross, was it going to curdle in his belly. He debated the wisdom of the combination for about 20 seconds and then decided he didn’t care and he’d survived worse.
“Boozy milkshake then...what shit are you putting in there that we get the delights of throwing back up later? Advance warning, I’m not holding your hair for you.”
Silanos retrieved his hard-won bag of chips and grabbed a handful, crunching obnoxiously loudly as he waited on Eliana to decide what she was going to do with Tequila, ice cream and whipped cream. He was prepared with a couple of suggestions for the latter if it came down to it. She wasn't bad to look at, after all.

Hm, ice cream, tequila, and limes… oh Eliana knew exactly what she was going to make. Once upon a time when she danced with the idea of saying fuck it all she was going to work through university she got a gig at her best friend’s bar. There Eliana learned three things. One, she was an incredibly hard worker. Two, working fucking sucked and she wanted to avoid it as long as she possibly could. And three, how to mix a wicked drink. At least Theo didn’t hate her when she quit.
Anyway, what she really needed was some triple sec or orange liqueur. “Got more up there?” She went up to the top right cupboard where he had found the tequila before. There was quite some nice bottles in here. Eliana’s hand hovered over the Louis XIV. A splash of that would be just the way to celebrate the holi- no she had to focus. Scanning some more she found Triple Sec with some of the cheaper, not as… special bottles.
Eliana’s smile grew even wider. This was all coming to plan. She eyeballed the measurements into the blender (an ounce of triple sec, two ounces of tequila… then more tequila just for fun, and ice cream) before she grabbed another wedge of lime. “Margarita milkshakes,” she winked at him and started the blender. “Me and my bestie used to have this all the time when we hung out by her pool.” It was always better than hanging out at Eliana’s- especially if Pallas was around.
“Also fuck you, I can handle my liquor. Probably better than you.” Eliana said, though she had to admit the way she was acting just rooting around his kitchen like it was hers was certainly in part because of the myriads of liquor going through her system. And after this, well, Eliana’s not going to want to leave her bed in the morning.
She poured both of them a glass, topping them with a healthy serving of whipped cream. She putted around the kitchen some more opening and closing drawers looking for something to zest a lime with. Eliana didn’t half-ass things- especially her alcohol. “Do you have a zes- oh!” she grabbed it from some random drawer, snatching a lime and garnishing it with some zest. Perfect, her masterpiece was done.
She went back by his side, placing the milkshake right next to him. “And for my payment,” Eliana said softly as she stepped even closer to Sil. Her dark eyes were only on his, playfully glinting. Eliana took another step closer, ridding themselves of the gap between them. She leaned in…
And reached her hand into the bag of chips, smirking. Her free hand took the tip of his whipped cream and booped him on the nose. If he wanted to be obnoxious about the chips, so could she. She popped it into her mouth and took the step back again, propping her hip against the counter. “Paid in full, thanks,” she said, lifting her cup in cheers and taking a sip. She licked the whipped cream off her top lip.

“Knock yourself out,” Sil said through a mouthful of chips, waving vaguely toward the cupboard he’d retrieved the tequila from. He was vaguely impressed that she located the blender and knew how to work the goddamn thing. His mother had a frustrating habit on insisting on having the latest, fanciest kitchen gadgets even though she couldn’t cook for shit and had staff do it for her the majority of the time. It meant that Sil usually avoided the appliances, with the exception of the coffee machine because sometimes caffeine wasn’t optional. And even that had taken him half an hour and the Spanish cleaner taking pity on his hungover self. He fucking loved Carmen.
Crunching happily on his chips,Sil gave an uncouth snort at the idea she could hold her drink better than him, shot her a sceptical look. “Right, sure you can princess.” And he looked on bemused as she faffed around with her drinks, even going so far as to put some lime zest on the top. He eyed the creamy, frothy concoction a little doubtfully. “Is there actually booze in..” When he turned back to look at Eliana though, she was a lot closer than he was expecting and Sil’s question died off as he wondered if she was drunker than he thought. Not that he was complaining.
‘And for my payment’
He might have let his gaze flicker toward her mouth for just a second, but it was enough that he felt like an idiot when she leant to the side to steal a chip before daubing whipped cream on his nose. Gaze narrowed, Sil wiped it off on his sleeve and turned with a scowl toward the drink which he was no resolved to complain about just because.
Only as he took a slurp, he realised to his chagrin that it was actually pretty good. Cold enough that it gave him a shock of brain freeze, but the tequila and whatever orangey shit shed put in it cut through the sweetness of the ice cream and cream pretty well. Not that he was going to tell her that.
“Cheapest drink I’ve gotten in a while,” he said instead and shoved the bag of chips in her direction “You have a little something..” he motioned to the corner of her mouth where there was a suspect smear of white, trying and failing to keep the immature smirk off his face. “Wouldn’t want to head back out there with that on your face. People might talk”

Luckily for Eliana the appliances that Silanos had were similar to the ones she had at home- as in overly complicated and with way too many options for the most god damned simplest thing. Just because her family had the money to spend, and boy did they fucking have the money to spend, didn’t mean they should. The number of user manuals Eliana had to comb through was utterly ridiculous.
He seemed phased for a moment when Eliana stepped forward. The scowl on his face only brought a smile to her’s, even a girlish giggle. There was something satisfying in being an annoying little minx, even if the two didn’t know each other well. Eliana also had an amazing talent in being comfortable around anyone- something that was very evident right now.
She was expecting some sarcastic comment- as seemed the language the pair fluently spoke in. She wasn’t disappointed. Cheapest drink I’ve gotten in a while. “Yeah, you’re welcome,” Eliana rolled her eyes as finally, the chip hoarder deigned to share his stash. Only now Eliana had no desire for it. It was more fun when she was stealing it. Eliana was like a cat, having fun with the hunt- but when the prize was at hand it was immediately not as worth it. Besides… she preferred BBQ chips, not this original crap.
Not that she’d tell him that. Instead, she just took another sip, of her the drink. She thought about, for a moment, what would be the repercussions if she just made out with Silanos until midnight. Her father chose him- that was one con. But it wasn’t as if this was fucking ancient Greece where that practically meant she was married to the guy. Plus, well, he was hot. At the very least Eliana couldn’t deny that.
You have a little something. Wouldn’t want to head back out there with that on your face. People might talk. Eliana didn’t fucking care what people said about her. She was her father’s youngest daughter and the one least likely to garner any attention. She stayed away from it all- as far away as she could. When people did talk about her… well, it didn’t bother Eliana. Their opinions didn’t matter anyway.
Then again, if they were going to gossip about white shit on her face… well maybe Eliana should give them something to talk about.
Giddy with the booze in her system and not in the mind to make a good decision, Eliana took a step forward again. Not towards the chips, she didn’t give a damn about them anymore. She raised an eyebrow at Silanos, and her lips curled into a playful little smile. “Do I? Would you get it for me?” She said before she really even realized the words coming from her mouth. But Eliana made her decision, even if later it would come with regret and maybe even a walk of shame. She wasn’t a slut by any means, but it wasn’t like Eliana was this chaste little butterfly. She’s had that walk before- and she’ll likely have it again.

He’d really intended to try. With his mother’s instructions ringing in his ears and the long-suffering look his oh so perfect brother sent him, Sil had skulked out to the balcony intending to do as he’d been told, for once. If he avoided people in general, then he couldn’t possibly get into trouble, could he?
Only now, as he watched Eliana Kassotis step forward into his space again, saw that flirty little smile, he realised he was going to.
Fuck, it wasn’t even his fault. She was the one who’d invaded his balcony, and now she was the one being all flirty and shit. Alright, maybe he couldn’t play entirely innocent on that one, but he just talked sometimes, and it came out like that, it was an affliction. Either way, she was definitely flirting now, and Silanos eyed her as he considered. He could reach out and wipe away that smear of cream with his finger, no problem. Only she was so close that it would be easier just to lean in and lick it away.
From what he’d heard, Eliana was more in the camp of good girl than the type he’d have expected to spend her new year’s making out with him in the kitchen. He figured that was why their parents had stopped encouraging them to hang out as they’d gotten older, but she was full of surprises so far tonight.
The whisky was burning its way through his veins, making him pleasantly warm and things pleasantly fuzzy, and hey, who was he to deny this little Daddy’s girl if she wanted to see New Year in properly? He was being a gracious host, that what he was doing.
With a little smirk of his own and a look that told her she was messing with the wrong person, Sil breathed out a little “Whatever you say, Princess.”
And then he’d leant in enough to lap away from the tiniest smudge of sweet cream at the corner of her mouth; it only took the slight tilt of his head to slant his lips across hers, kissing the taste of lime and tequila away. The hand that wasn’t holding his glass skimmed fingers across the curve of her hip and Silanos smiled against her lips as he waited for her to pull away or squawk indignantly at the fact that he’d taken her at her word.

If Eliana could read Silanos’s mind, it would be fairly clear to her that he didn’t know her at all. If being a good girl meant being nice to people, even strangers, and trying to help other’s out- then she was a good girl. But if it meant being a daughter her family approved of, listening diligently to their wishes, and neve rebelling… then she certainly wasn’t that either.
There was no black and white, and Eliana personified that. She might not party to the extent her family did- but she wasn’t that loser in the corner acting holier than thou. She might not have sex to the extent her brother (... and cousin, and uncle) did, but she wasn’t the sheltered catholic with a chastity belt locked to her waist. And most of all she wasn’t a Daddy’s girl.
Eliana didn’t squawk like he might have expected. She didn’t get mad or suddenly play cold. She placed her glass on the counter, barely disconnecting their lips to do so. Then she went in for more, uncaring about the smearing of her lipstick. She wrapped her arms around his neck to pull him in even closer, leaning into Silanos as their lips melded together and they made out like horny teenagers (Which to be fair- they both were just a year off from just that.) She didn’t care if her dress got a little messed up, or his tie got crooked. Eliana didn’t fucking care about anything right now except for the greedy feeling for more.
And then she heard it. Click, click, click, the stupid sound of heels as the kitchen door open. Eliana shoved Silanos away from her, and turned her head away. But it didn’t stop the fucking nasally voice from invading her bubble, “Oh there you are.” Her father’s secretary said, as if she didn’t see the two marching through the middle of party. Though, who knows, maybe all that plastic surgery messed with her, made her half blind. “They’re about to start counting down. Your father wants you to join him. You can bring your little friend too. Just do make sure you fix your face first.” Then she turned on her heel and walked away, with her nose in the air and her overly perky ass doing far to much of a shake, as if she wanted Silanos to look at it (and she probably did. Fucking gross.)
Eliana’s eyes closed as she heard the door swing shut, and she let out a loud exhale through her nose. Her blood was boiling. The fucking hell. He wanted her to talk to Sil, and she more than talked to him. And now he’s lie ‘Oh come join me, blablabla’ fuck this. She didn’t want to listen to him. And she didn’t want to listen to that skank of a secretary.
Eliana’s eyes flickered up to Silanos. “Wanna get out of here?” She asked him. “Go have some real fun?”

Eliana’s eyes flickered up to Silanos. “Wanna get out of here?” She asked him. “Go have some real fun?”
Well, ok then. Whilst he might have been a little surprised, Sil definitely wasn’t going to complain about Eliana’s enthusiastic response to the kiss. When her arms snaked up around his neck, he turned them, leant his weight against her, so she was pressed against the counter behind her. It was a while since he’d made out with a girl in the kitchen at a party, and hell, if it didn’t make this one suck a lot less.
She tasted sweet, and he’d bracketed his hands either side of her hips before picking her up and plonking her on the workstation, nudging his way between her thighs. He didn’t give a shit what her motives were if this is what she wanted, he was always happy to oblige. Dim recollections of the lecture he’d been given in the earlier part of the evening were easily swept aside as he licked into her mouth, caught that plump bottom lip between his teeth and pulled slightly.
He wasn’t paying enough attention to notice the sound of someone else’s approach but Eliana’s hands shoving him away was enough to see the woman - who the fuck was she strutting in here like she owned the place - walk in on a scene that was not as awkward as it might of been, though hardly subtle. Eliana had turned away, Silanos had staggered back just a pace or two, surreptitiously wiping at his mouth because he wasn’t sure that shade of lip gunk was his colour.
‘They’re about to start counting down. Your father wants you to join him. You can bring your little friend too. Just do make sure you fix your face first.’ If Sil hadn’t been sure who she was addressing at first, that cleared it up for him. Unless he was being invited to join his father six foot under, which didn’t seem very festive.
Sil stared after the woman, checking out her ass - it was habit ok - even as he scowled after her. Little friend?!
“Who the fuck is that?” he asked, turning to look at Eliana. “Uppity little bitch isn’t she?”
He was a little annoyed, truth be told, at having been interrupted, and sighed a little as he realised he was likely going to have to go show his face again after all. He could go and stand next to his mother and brother and play the good son for a few minutes he guessed.
‘Wanna get out of here?Go have some real fun?’
Orrrrrrrrrr fuck them. He could go do something better. Silanos gave Eliana an approving look.
“Uhh, yes? What are you putting on the table?” He paused, considered, “Actually forget it, I don’t care if it’s not here. Let's go”.

Honestly- there was no plan. There was nothing to put on the table. The Casino Girl had no cards up her sleeve (to be fair, she didn’t even have sleeves). But she did know one thing. She was pissed. Pissed at the skank for walking in here. Uppity bitch was right. She was pissed at her father for pulling her strings like she was some sort of puppet and he was the marinette. She was pissed at… everything.
And so she would throw her middle finger up and go have some real fun. She listened to her father this far- coming to this stupid party and talking with Silanos. But now it was time for her fun. For real.
“Got no cards, but who cares. Let’s have some fun.” Eliana took Sil’s hand and grabbed her clutch and looked around. They couldn’t go through the front elevator, no way. They’d have to go through the party. But if there was one thing she knew about rich penthouses, there was always a servant elevator. “Service elevator that way?” Eliana asked, pointing towards another door. She moved there and pushed it open to find exactly what she was looking for- the slightly blank hallway with minimal decoration that no one but the maids, caterers, and chefs were to ever see. And the freight elevator. Still holding Sil’s hand, she led him to the elevator pushing the button.
When the doors closed on them she moved closer to him to resume what they were doing. Arms around his neck, lips all over his. She didn’t care- she just didn’t fucking care about anything anymore. Ding, ding, ding it made a small sound as it counted each floor, but the more hungrily she attacked his lips, the more it seemed to melt away into the background. She barely noticed when the door opened, and she was staring at a dark room that likely led to a side alley. In fact she didn’t notice until a huge cake with unlit sparklers pointing every which way got wheeled in, and two caterers looked uncomfortable and cleared their throat. Whoops.
She grabbed Sil’s hand again and led him into the alley, where Eliana got hit with a blast of cold. It’s not like she could have grabbed her coat, it was checked in the front. She found herself pressing closer to her companion for the night. The city streets were still alive, people seemingly everywhere walking this way and that- or stumbling really. It was New Years Even after all. “Let’s go watch the fireworks.” Eliana had actually never seen the fireworks in person. If she was in Vegas it was always some big party where she’d be on the roof somewhere to see them. But never was she in the crowd of other people to stare up at the sky and watch them explode. The only thing she wished was that she had her coat, but being cold was a price she absolutely willing to pay. “And then maybe… see what else the night has to offer?”
