First, please don’t be mad at Melina. This is not her fault and you must know she did everything she could to prevent it. Please don’t hold it against her.
Second, I am sorry you had to find out that I have gone to join the Colchian forces this way. I would have preferred to tell you in person, but obviously you would not have approved. Please don’t consider this a reflection of you or how I perceive our relationship to be. I have chosen this for myself. The need to be of some real use in this world weighs heavily upon me and this is the best way I can see to do it.
Try not to worry too much—you know my skills make me more than capable. However, if I do not return, take comfort in knowing I am again with mother and that we will look after you, Iason, Alexa, and Evie always. I love you all so very much.
