Olympus was starting to grow wearisome, which was surprising for a place intended to be as close to perfection as it seemed to be. Perhaps it was because it was too perfect, and the variety of its company was limited. She was rather sick of looking at the other gods, even Zeus, which was quite difficult to comprehend. She lounged, ivory fabric draping across her lap where she had gathered it. Her legs were crossed, feet free from sandals she perused the mortal realm.
The war was ongoing, but Hera always had found such things too messy for her liking. She preferred to stay away from her son’s playthings, although she obviously had no qualms with interfering when it suited her interests. She had met him on the battlefield before, practically chased him off of it -- if one was to believe her side of the story. She smiled, choosing to remember her victories as she chose to -- and forget the terribly dark defeats.
Her attention swiveled from the Egyptian shores and back towards Taengea. She rather liked the idea of the place, and her main temple was located there which would warrant some attention she was sure. She’d also just blessed one of the human unions, an odd couple by traditional standards but she had a penchant for an underdog. Taengea also had its share of adultery and unfaithfulness. She wondered if that Queen had gotten her warning, if it was loud and clear enough or if she would have to pay her another visit. Hera was quite disappointed in her, the bonds of marriage were sacred -- and once she’d taken those vows to the King, there could be no more foolishness with his brother of all people.
She sighed, sinking into the comfort of her chaise -- the plush fabric mussing her hair as she sunk into a most unbecoming position. She shifted, dangling one foot off the side and letting it swing idly. Colchis was just as boring as Olympus in her mind, and besides... her previous mortal persona had been Colchian, so she skipped right to Athenia. She wanted something new. She shuffled through the various prospective lives, her tastes quite specific. She wanted someone who had connections in power, young and unmarried, no history of entanglements.
She had a feeling it would be a while yet before she found someone suitable, her consciousness flicking through the candidates. It had been a while since she’d visited Athenia. Perhaps it warranted a closer look.
