Things in the city are worse than we could have imagined. We found ourselves in the middle of a riot, with several injuries happening to those close to us. They will be alright, I think, but we will not know for a few days.
Demetruis is alive, though I do not think we should use ‘well’ to describe his current condition. His body, while broken, is not so damaged that he will die. But his mind may not be repairable. He’s overly jumpy about every movement that is close to him, and unannounced presences have him searching for a weapon. While I am sure that he would never intentionally hurt Olena, I do not know if I trust his current state not to do something accidentally. While malnourished, he has not lost any of his underlying strength. Hector is able to keep him calm, thank the Gods. But I do not know what would happen should they be left alone. While she may be the only one who can truly heal him, it is not something we should allow to happen with either out of sight.
I have a feeling that if you tell her that he is safe with us in the city, she will find her way here. It is best if you tell her that he was last seen alive a few days prior and that we have a trusted lead that we are following. That every available man is working to bring him back. Seems best to give her hope to keep going without driving her to flee to us in hopes of a reunion.
We are going to meet with Emilia in the morning, but I wish to send this along now before I no longer have much of a chance. I shall write again to update you as soon as I have a better knowledge of the conversations.
