We want to better Aeipathy, and we need your help to do it. Building a site is a community movement, not one that only relies on the staff team. We are inviting you, our members, to anonymously declare issues you have with the site, or offer ideas. Doing so anonymously, allows you to not feel so shy or awkward voicing your opinions to us—we know, staffers can be scary to talk too, especially if you are trying to be honest. We've all been members, who have had to talk honest discussions with staffers.
Our staff team is aware that members might have suggestions or concerns that they do not feel comfortable approaching us personally. Therefore, this form does not collect any information about the person submitting to it, allowing the staff to experience transparency from our member base without feeling like they may 'hurt our feelings' or 'make us mad'.
The suggestion box is for
Helping us better Aeipathy. There's so many ways to better Aeipathy, but the staff team is not all-knowing. We need your help to know if we're doing anything wrong.
For issues that are affecting your enjoyment on the site (as well as others). No matter what this issue is, feel free to write about it for us. The form has a fairly simple approach, as it contains two boxes that are required, one that asks if you have suggestions and one that asks if you have issues. If one of these boxes is not applicable to you, simply write 'N/A' or 'None'. There is a third optional box, if you wish to provide screenshots, in the case of suggesting something you've seen on other sites for Aeipathy.
Examples:
—— Are you worried that there isn't enough representation on the site in terms of sexualities?
—— Perhaps you are worried about misrepresentation on the site?
—— Perhaps you have an awesome event idea, but you don't want to host it, and might be afraid that staff won't like it. Anonymously posting your event idea in the 'suggestions' section of the form, allows staff to take it into account. Understand if you do offer an event idea in the form, you are anonymously doing so, which means you need to have no plans to host the event yourself.
The suggestion box is not for
Private or personal issues with another member. We need to be able to know who is having the issue to deal with the issue. This is because a lot of private or personal member issues may require mediation, and are not specific to the site as a whole. If you have an issue with another member, even another staff member, reach out to anyone on the staff team for help in mediating your issue.
Examples:
—— Writing in the suggestion box that you think a member of the staff team has reacted unfairly to your plot. To help you with this issue, we would need to know who you are, so that we could discuss the issue in-depth.
—— Another example is bringing us an issue you are having with a regular member who is affecting how you enjoy the site. This cannot be anonymously posted because we cannot fix it without knowing who is involved.
Final Notes
If you see an issue with a member of the site or discord that you believe is affecting the community as a whole, such as someone being aggressive about plot seeking in the channels, you can submit this anonymously as staff can deal with that issue without knowing who has submitting the issue.
Tips for Submitting Anonymously
1. If you are extremely worried that your writing style might give you away, pop your message into Google Translate, change it into another language, then back to English. This will alter it enough that it's not going to give you away. 2. If you use emojis in your messages, don't do that here, it could be another tell that might affect your anonymity. 3. Likewise, if you don't use emojis, try popping some in to skew your writing style.
