Boom! A second broadcast, two weeks running, yes - your eyes do not deceive you! This is your admin JD getting back up to speed and stretching them admin muscles. Also, the product of better organisation amongst the staff team who have brilliantly kept things all up to date so that these broadcasts don't take anywhere near as long to do - whooooo for all involved!
Okay, so here's the basic shindig of things - each Grecian kingdom is getting their own plot advancement - you can see the new information on our homepage now. And this comes with Events. Our event opening last week - Anger of the Earth - is the voted for event for Colchis, whilst this week's is a staff created one for Taengea. You'll be seeing a new event poll being put up on the Discord channel soon for the next Athenian Provincial Story. We're hoping to keep this kind of community involvement moving forward with a community that will soon be growing. Keep an eye out for the latest updates on the Discord server!
New Additions
Below are a list of all of our newest members to the server. Our staff team ask that, when you see them online, give them a shout out and say 'hi, how are you?' You can use our #general-chat or our #quiet-room - entirely depending on how busy our main channel is - but we highly recommend touching base and saying hello - they might be interested in making a character you're seeking for your own plots after all... If there were no new members to join us this week, we'll list our three latest joiners.

New Challenge! You Brake It, You Bought It Okay, I'm trying to be clever with this title so let me explain... Here's how to win your points this week in the member challenge... Your character needs to have an issue with a high speed stop. This could be them running through the streets, on the back of a horse, in a carriage, on a boat down a river, or even falling from a height. So long at they are moving at a fairly rapid pace. You then need to have them be stopped and injured in some manner. They might collide with someone, they might hit the ground instead of water, they might hit water but accidentally belly flop it. They might just realise they've forgotten something, put the brakes on and end up having someone collide into the back of them. And when we say injury, we don't mean you need to have bruises or spill blood. Your dress could tear, your helmet could get knocked to the ground. Perhaps there's accident gropeage that injures someone's dignity! 'Injury' can be taken whatever way you like. Whatever you decide to do, the idea is: speed, stop, negative result for your character.
New Secret Word Check out the latest in our #announcements channel for the latest clues on our new Secret Word game!
Character Sexualities Please note that, to avoid looking hetero-normative/hetero-preferring, the listed sexualities of our Canon character has been removed, make them all open to whatever preference takers wish. Some of the characters still have specifically non-hetero information in their descriptions, so these remain as they are to encourage diversity but any character where the sexuality is not integral to the character's development has had their listed/assigned sexuality removed. We, the staff team, hope that this will continue to encourage all preferences of writer/character!
Awards and Recognition
Creating a character can be really hard work. Sometimes you take on a role and it's easy as pie - you just slip into the character like they're a favourite pair of jeans. At other times, it's a little more complicated. You don't gel straight away with the concept or there are elements of their life or plotting that you find difficult. It can be really hard to keep going when you hit those walls. Sometimes, it's the right thing to do to realise a character is beyond your abilities and drop them. But it can be equally right, depending on the situation, to stick it out and work on a character that's new and exciting and different. But that takes courage. It takes courage to be able to work at a character who you think you might be failing and it takes persistence to put that doubting voice in your head to one side and keep on keeping on. So, this week's Member of the Moment is someone who has managed to do this and continues to work hard at her Athenian princess: congrats for being an inspiration to all members wanting to try something new, Makki! <3
Awards Achieved
Our Member of the Moment isn't the only user in our community to be celebrated! Both OOC and IC Awards have been given out this week! The next time you see one of these guys in our chat, make sure to say congrats! And check out this page of our Encyclopedia, if you want to earn your character extra points and goodies!

Events and Provincial Stories
Our Events and Stories are large, mass threads where everyone who has a viable character for that moment or setting can partake. They are often revolving around key players in our current global plots but they also create great opportunities for characters to meet and greet rather than our site becoming cluttered with 'first encounter' threads. Our Events are voluntary, but we recommend that all members keep at least a cursory eye on what is happening in each on-going Event within any kingdom their character(s) are a part of. This way, you're always up-to-date on the latest drama in your character's homeland.
Check our the updates below for each of our current Events, provided by our Staff Team. All of these Events and Provincial Stories are open so have your character dive in to any and all!
Spice Road Location: Central Plateia > Athenia > Greece Attendance: Open to all players No-one expected flaming poop to be part of the aroma at the Spice Road, but that's exactly what they've gotten! At least Elena of Marikas seems to have found herself a knight in slightly bloodied armour in Leonidas of Athenia - will they get out alright or will they collide with someone else? Your character might be the sticking point for these two, or you might be the one throwing the dung! Are you helping the chaos or contributing to it? Perhaps you're a healer? There will be burns, cuts and we already have one broken nose! If you're a trader, I'd hate to think of the state of your stall right now. Duck and cover everyone!
Anger of the Earth Location: Lowers Levels > Colchis > Greece Attendance: Oopen to all players Colchis is reeling from economic loss, coin has been restricted, and this is felt all over the kingdom. Price is going up, and luxury food resources are diminishing. Market day is limited and funds that people are used to paying with, even more limited. The rich are the only ones who are truly untouched. The people are protesting, they are ransacking stores and refusing to lay down and die. The people have decided they're not expendable, slaves are rebelling in their desperation.
Birth of a Queen Location: Mikaelidas Palati > Taengea > Greece Attendance: Open to all players Birthdays should be celebrated, and the birthday of Queen Elise is going to be fun. Someone's spiked the punch, there's amazing food, and someone's being sneaky. What are they up to, the person climbing the rooftop of the palati? Do you see them, do you know them? Are you them?
New Events
Aeolus' Fury Event - Taengea Closing: 25th December 2021
Taengea has weathered storms before. They have survived torrential rain and sleet and cold... they have even braved the tail ends of monsoon-like deluges as they have made their way up north to the Colchian shore. But rare is it for them to face the fury of the heavens like this...
It has been raining in Taengea for the past two weeks - an unusual longevity as it is. In that time, the weathered grooves in the streets have overflown and the pots and pans kept beneath leaking rooftops or open terraces have long since needed emptying. The streets are starting to run like streams in a river and the fields beyond Vasiliadon have become a boggy marsh. The mud has been tracked in through the city gates and now the capitol itself is beginning to turn to muck and slippery wet dust.
As the heavens continue to rain down without mercy, the clouds begin to undulate and ripple like the waves of the sea. To a modern eye, these are purely altoculumus clouds but to the gaze of an ancient grecian, they are the waving tendrils of anger from the Gods above. Just what has Taengea done to face such disaster?
As the shoreline begins to deplete and the fields are turned to dangerous sludge, multiple efforts are made to save the trade and commerce of the capitol. Will you be hauling ropes, pulling ships that have lost their moorings closer to land, or will you be those bringing in the animals and seeing to their care and warmth? Perhaps you are bound for the care of humans, as slips, falls and collapsing wooden structures under the weight of the downpour cause accident and injury. One thing is for sure... no Taengean is being left without task in this horrendous bought of Aeolus' fury. Read More...
