With nightmares of the attack at the spice festival plaguing her sleep, Elena has become irritable and short-tempered. She has been hiding her exhaustion from everyone, and thus far the only one to clearly notice the changes in her is Lady Ivra. The Marikas matriarch is aware there is a problem with her middle granddaughter, but doesn't know the details as of yet. She has escaped the capitol to spend some time in the countryside, however things haven't been as restful as she'd hoped. Indeed, gossip and drama abound at the Marikas estate as they hold what promises to be the Athenian get-together of the season. Elena spots more than one familiar face in the crowd and has to unfortunately maintain a put-together family image for the majority of the Athenian nobility. It's anything but smooth sailing to say the least.

It had been a few weeks since the spice market and there were vendors that the Marikas family must continue doing business with, despite the currents of unease that continued rippling through the ranks of the nobility. Elena attended the lower market with some of the household servants and spotted Leonidas of Athenia. Cue spiderman pointing meme. Elena disentangled herself from her servants, wanting very much to speak with the young Athenian soldier, however she found herself feeling unusually shy and embarrassed after their previous encounter. She is determined to learn more about him.

The fiery Daniil of Marikas is hanging out with her big sister for some bonding tine. Daniil loves horses, while Elena is terrified of them; sounds like a recipe for disaster. Maybe with a bit of encouragement from her sister Elena can find her courage. If anyone can ignite the fiery spark someone doesn't know they possess it's Daniil. While they are out, Elena debates telling her about the events of The Spice Road and her rescuer.

Taking place two weeks after the events of The Spice Road, Elena visited the Naos of the Gods to pay homage to Hera for ensuring she had survived the attack unharmed. While making her offerings, she spotted Lord Elias of Stravos and approached him. Little does Elena know that this conversation piqued the Lord's interest in her and caused him to begin plotting her role in his own schemes.
Artamisios | The Spice Road | Completed
Elena shopped at Spice Market, perusing the wares, only to lose her maid when attackers began hurling flaming balls of poop into stalls and setting off a human stampede. Many were burned to death in the fires or lost their lives underfoot. In the crush of people Elena panicked and ran right into Leonidas of Athenia. Despite breaking his nose in the collision, the soldier rescued Elena and the pair escaped with minor injuries. The encounter definitely got Elena's heart racing, although it may not have simply been due to the danger the pair found themselves in.

Praratios
While staying at the Marikas villa in Arcasis, Elena somehow managed to be underfoot and was almost trampled by a cart. The Gods must have chosen to spare her, for an incident that should have resulted in her death left her with only scratches and bruises.

Posidaios
Elena is born to Lord Pavlos and Lady Sera of Marikas. Lady Sera was overjoyed to have another beautiful daughter to care for, however the Lord Pavlos was reported to be far less enthusiastic.
