Lady Nethis,
My friend it has been too long since we last spoke. I assume all is well with you in Colchis for I have heard little to the contrary here in Taengea. I understand that the crown prince was injured some weeks ago. I was surprised to not hear news of his death soon afterwards but clearly he is of stronger mettle than I give him credit. I suspect he will be abed for many more months and that his brother will be taking over his business arrangements. I offer you words of support in the time you must be spending with your sister in order to aid in the burden that must now have fallen upon her husband. He is lucky to have a sister-in-law of such fortitude and mind.
My niece, Selene, visited Midas not long ago, I wonder if you have heard any news on how her leaving was received by the Kotas family? I am anxious to know of her lasting impression on the royals.
This being said it is not the sole reason for my letter.
Another of my nieces, the lovely Evangelina of Leventi has finally come around to the idea of marriage and while I have sent letters to several major noblemen throughout the three kingdoms (I know you, my kindred friend, will appreciate my intent to formulate multiple contingency plans) it is to Lord Dysius that I now look.
They are of similar ages and I know that you are anxious to see the Thanasi line continue and flourish. Word has reached my ears of a possible arrangement between the Lord Mihail and a sister of Lord Alkaios of Skleros - do not ask me how for I am not supposed to possess such knowledge and my methods were not clean in acquiring it.
But either way it is clear to me that the Thanasi heir is the only male of your family to still be entirely unattached of future plans.
Would it not be fortuitous for both Houses to have an arrangement in which said heir was connected with a Leventi?
I look forward to your response my dear Lady, and pray that the Fates continue to bless the House of Thanasi,
With fond regards,
Fotios of Leventi
