Dear Selene,
Tis been too long since I last heard from you. I must offer my sincerest apologies for not writing sooner - much has happened in Athenia since, and I have had to spend my time assisting my sister and ensuring all matters were running as necessary.
She has been engaged to Lord Iason of Dimitrou, who I believe is from Taengea. I must plead of you dear Selene, to tell me of the character of this man who is to be my brother in law. Is he of gentle nature? Would he be a strong husband for my sister? I worry for her, for she puts the weight of the world on her shoulder, and I only wish Aphrodite would bless her marriage. I have been visiting the temple of the goddess everyday, but I fear my efforts may be for naught.
The night-long Feast of Sinners that my father organized to celebrate my sister's engagement was tiring. I've never had to don such a heavy dress before! It was beautiful, a material of burnt orange layered over white. And if I was a walking decorative tree, Persephone was worst - I fear she may be a crone from the amount of gold my father instructed her to wear. The performances were baffling - did you know one could fly by a pair of ropes and a stick tied in between them? I only wish you could have been here to witness such a feat. My sister's handmaiden outdid herself with the decorations in the palace for the feast at night. By the end of the night, I think we both collapsed in our beds from sheer exhaustion. It was great fun, but I fear such events could only be held once a year for good reason.
And what of you, Selene? I have not heard from you and hope all is well. My sister has recently inform me that I am to officiate a sailing event - I do not know how well I would do, for I have never done something of such spectacle, but I believe I shall try. I am anxious to hear of your wellbeing, and hope all is well.I do miss you and your company.
Fondly yours,
Emilia
