Dearest Pia,
I am in the process of planning a family dinner, at the suggestion of Uncle Fotios. And even though we know how much a night with our uncle could be an awkward event, I’m determined to make it a pleasant evening. Everyone is coming, Sweet Pea, and I must beg of you to come as well. Mother says she has your chest of baby keepsakes that she would like you to go through, and I thought it might be fun to sit and reminisce in our last few gatherings before marriage separates us into different houses. I told Uncle that I would dazzle the room with my harp, and you’ve got the better voice of the two of us to accompany me.
A united Leventi front is important in all things. Perhaps if we are all there, Uncle will bite his tongue in favor of a pleasant meal.
Please, do not turn me down! I’ll be absolutely devastated if you cannot make the journey, and I’ll never forgive you.
That was a little dramatic. We both know that I could never do that. But, my lovely Queen, I am worried I will not be brave without you by my side. As talks of marriage come to a head, I fear that Uncle may make an arrangement before Father is well and able to have a say in the matter. For my sake, if nothing else, come and dine with us. It could be the last time we are all gathered around the table as a family before we are all wedded and bedded.
Your Favorite Sister,
Selene
