Dearest Pia,
I will be leaving the city on the morrow, to visit your Papa back in Macendia. He had been sent there a few days prior due to his health, as per recommendations from the physician, and I do not like the idea of leaving him by himself for too long. You know how he may charm the servants to do as he wishes, and he does not know his own strength for now.
I know you wish for Mama to be next to you, sweet pea. But I fear I cannot visit as often as you would like me to. I worry for you too, however to visit often would tarnish your image as the new Queen. The people of Taengea must not see their Queen as someone who needs her mother's accompaniment.
How have you been since I last saw you? I fess, I worry for you everyday, ever since the physicians have order you on bedrest. My only consolation is that you are offered the best services as the Queen, and I expect that your husband does not offer you anything less. You are a Queen, and you are to take what is rightfully yours, for yourself and for your unborn son.
I am but a missive away, Pia, should you need me. Macendia is less then a couple of hours' boat away, and should you need me, I shall come as soon as I am able to, hopefully with your Papa in tow. I visit the shrine of Eileithyia everyday to pray for the safe arrival of my grandchild, and for the safety of his mother in the birth.
With all the love,
Mama
