Dear Dion,
Thank you for your letter. It's good to hear that you're doing well and learning many useful skills. Childhood is a time with few responsibilities, so it's best to learn such habits and abilities while you're not distracted by the burdens that may one day fall on your as heir to our kingdom. I'm sure your father is proud of your progress and I encourage you to continue working and practising as you are told. Fighting and weapon work is not something you learn quickly. To truly master it, you must practice it daily. Discipline is what makes a great fighter. Not strength.
Be assured that all here are well and we look forward to returning home in a few weeks. Work hard until then. Remember that on you rest the hopes of a nation. It is you who will have to grow to protect your mother and your family. We place our trust in you for our future.
I have passed your letter to Athanasia so that she might write you her own response.
Regards,
Vangelis of Kotas
