Family expectation can be trying. The eldest of families know this better than most, as you so rightly stated in your letter. What is worse is, that slowly those expectations can then become entangled with our own opinions and occasionally we lose sight of which belongs to whom. I am lucky enough that my own expectations for my life are in line with my parents, meaning that distinction is not necessary.
Despite this, I assure you that I understand. Your family have had a trying time over the last few weeks and I know that there is great pressure on you with your sisters and their looming life changes.
Please be assured that I am perfectly content to continue with our friendship as it was and that any feelings regarding your sanity should be put from your mind. You have neither wounded, nor offended me. The action was of no moment or import.
