Welcome to Aeipathy! As our name suggests, we are a vibrant, passionate, and dedicated group of roleplayers committed to character development and world-building. Potential Dealbreakers Extensive Lore Our lore is vast. Whilst an element of reading is required, it is not necessary to read everything. We have several tutorials for guiding newcomers through only the information relevant to their character or interests. Historical Setting To maintain immersion, historical language is required in posts. If you find this challenging please reach out to our staff team - we're not angry sticklers over it and we'd love to help you! We also run AU events in which historical language is not necessary, to give our players a break from the ancient world. Our World Our world is a fictional version of real history. Geographically it spans from Scandinavia to the Assyrian border in modern-day Iran. Aeipathy is set during the transitional period between the bronze and iron ages. The date used for roleplaying purposes is approx. 970 BC. Our inspiration, however, stretches up to three thousand years prior. Some realms, peoples or empires have been shifted in time or theme to create a diverse roleplay experience with maximum plot opportunities.

Historical Anachronisms For clarity, markers have been placed in our encyclopaedia where our fictional realms deviate severely from real history. These creative licenses have been chosen with care. Our Story As a genre, we are predominantly historical drama including political or familial strife, wars and patriotic conflict, romantic entanglements and the daily lives of ancient civilisations. A supplementary feature are the manipulations of the deities favoured by our characters; they walk amongst us and influence the twists and turns of fate, if and when our character-driven stories start to slow.

Our story is communally told. Characters are welcome to participate in whichever plots they choose but all tales exist within our global plots. All players must be aware of main storylines, even if they choose not to play an active part in creating them. Our Content We are a 3-3-3 rated forum meaning that we allow all levels of roleplay in violence, sexual content and explicit language. All members identify their personal levels of comfort in these areas through their character profiles. We also have a trigger labelling system applied to our threads.
