Colchis's biggest export is metal and precious ore. In the mines, slaves and free men work side by side to remove the bronze, silver, gold and iron from the land. Skilled mathematicians and designers are on constant watch in the mines to ensure that no-one digs too far towards the sea or in a manner that would weaken the city above.

The Midas jail is reported to be a terrifying please, second only to Hades itself. Supposedly haunted, it has yet to dawn on the scientific minds of the time that the jail is situated deep in the mountain, alongside the mines and beneath the ocean. The noise of the water currents, plus the clanging of the miners and the wind blowing against the rock face outside all create the horrifying noises that have been attributed to the dead souls of the prison.
