The forges of Alinna are nestled deep within the mountain’s heart, their smoky breath rising through vents cut into the rock. Massive cogs and wooden wheels jut from the stone face, turned relentlessly by the fierce gales that howl through the narrow Alinna gulley. Here, iron is shaped and hardened by a heat no other place can rival, the wind-driven fires stoked to an intensity unmatched in the known lands. Shadows of labourers move rhythmically among the hammering sounds and bursts of molten light. The air is thick with the scent of metal and smoke, while channels carved into the rock guide runoff into basins below.
