The streets of Babylon Proper reveal the vibrant life of the city's common folk. The homes, crafted from clay bricks, stand shoulder to shoulder in an intricate maze of narrow alleys and modest courtyards, their flat roofs often doubling as additional living space. Each dwelling, though humble, displays the care of its occupants with woven reed mats, clay ovens, and other small trinkets. There is a blend of wealth here, with both the average and poorer (though not destitute) citizens living in the area. Children play in the streets while artisans and labourers toil, sometimes from their homes and sometimes from hidden shopfronts. The air is often perfumed with the scent of fresh bread and spices from the nearby stalls of the bazaar.
