As one travels through Valland, they may watch the landscape around them unfold with a rugged majesty. The road, forged through the untamed forests and over the rocky terrain, is flanked by ancient trees that whisper secrets from long ago. The crisp air carries the faint scent of pine resin and earth. Alongside the road, carved wooden markers stand, etched with runes to guide and protect travellers. Occasionally, one might encounter a simple wayfarer’s shrine adorned with offerings of mead and bread to appease the gods and ensure safe passage. The road itself is wide enough for a caravan of oxen-drawn carts yet narrow enough to remind one of the wilderness encroaching on all sides. At night, the stars blaze in the clear northern sky, a celestial map for those skilled in its reading.
