The Veneti family are no strangers to wealth and influence, and their home in the city is very much a reflection of this power. It is an imposing building, marked by tall columns of polished marble topped by carved reliefs of times gone by that seem to dare visitors to pass. Past this imposing entryway, the atrium opens up onto a set of meticulously landscaped gardens, where fountains decorated with intricate mosaics gurgle endlessly and manicured cypress trees line well-maintained pathways, creating a momentary oasis of serenity before one enters the home proper. Inside, the praedum's decadence is continued but more subdued, as if in recognition that this is not just a home, but a place where significant political discussions can be had. Impressive frescoes of ancestral victories and mythological figures alike line the walls, and the furniture is of the highest level of workmanship. The floors are made of polished stone, leading to various offices and libraries alongside the grand triclinium and other living spaces, and though there is a sense of homeliness, it is very much overshadowed by the air of importance the home holds.
