Although the Remusi family spend much of their time in the eastern territories, they still maintain an impressive home in the capital. The Remusi Bona is enclosed by imposing walls but, within, a spacious atrium welcomes guests. The marble floors are inlaid with exotic mosaics of distant lands, reflecting the family's far-reaching connections. Towering columns support a half-open roof that allows sunlight to flood the space, while fragrant vines cascade down the walls, infusing the air with floral scents. The interior rooms are furnished practically, but they are not devoid of luxury, with bronze statuary and silken drapery lining the walls. In the central courtyard, a blend of flowering shrubbery and lush foliage — some native and some exotic — surrounds a simple reflecting pool and shaded pergolas that provide a place of respite among the sounds of a busy city and its lively entertainment district.
