The Viminalis Collis is the smallest of the hills, not nearly as high as the Quirinalis or Esquiline that stand on either side of it. Still, it rises gently above the streets, offering a quiet reprieve from the urban clamour. Where the streets do not cross, the hill is draped in a soft veil of wild grasses and low-growing shrubs, giving it an almost untamed beauty. Footpaths wind their way up the hillside, and the faint smell of pine and earth permeates the air. Despite the hill's lack of height, the terraces of the homes built here still provide a stunning view over the city as a whole, and time seems to move slower for those who sit upon them and take time to breathe and observe their surroundings. There is a certain tranquility to it all, a stillness and understanding that sits in the air for those willing to stop for a moment in a busy world.
