Hey everyone! I am absolutely LOVING this week and the super activity that has been hitting our tags channel! So much writing about the characters and stories that we know and love! It's wonderful!
As a little thank-you, I have some awesome news for you guys. We are having an event. Yep. A big one. No, like I mean a BIG one. Mark it in your diaries and do NOT miss this. 5th and 6th of September. Two full days. Do not be travelling, do not be working, do not be busy. The event will run from 7am GMT on Saturday morning, until 2am GMT Monday morning. A full schedule of events will be posted over the course of the next month. New Additions We've had new characters added to our accepted roster! Remember! The first member to start a thread with each of our newly accepted characters from new members get to collect Points! Give these characters a shout out in their relevant kingdom channel to get the plotting chat going! Just remember to give their profiles a read so that you can approach their writer with some fun ideas!

New Challenge: Face Lift! At Aeipathy, we're a little bit vain (don't deny it, all your FCs are gorgeous, shoosh.) so we like to show off those pretty faces to the best of their ability. To claim a point this week, give your characters a new face lift with some new mini-profile images! One point per character but if you want to put more than one image up for each of them then go ahead, just for the fun of it! The only rule here is that the image fit properly (220x330 pixels) and are as high definition as you can get them. Seriously - wow us! Post the image and a link to the profile of that character in the #member-challenge channel to acquire your points!
Event Closures Many of our events have now been closed! This is a good thing - it means that our storylines are moving forwards and that we are progressing as a collective community of story-tellers! Whoohoo! If anyone feels as if their own character's plot has been cut off in some way with these closes, my apologies, please come to a staffer and we'll be more than happy to unlock the thread to allow you a closure post and then lock it again after you. Look out for some new Events coming next week!

It is not always easy to get back into the swing of things when your RL forces you to hold back on some characters or be careful with your plotting. And sometimes it takes time to then build those connections again, reach out to brand new people and starting building those plots from the ground up. Cissi has been working diligently on the server to keep her options open and start roleplaying with some brand new peeps and we salute you for it, Cissi!
Our Events and Stories are large, mass threads where everyone who has a viable character for that moment or setting can partake. They are often revolving around key players in our current global plots but they also create great opportunities for characters to meet and greet rather than our site becoming cluttered with 'first encounter' threads. Our Events are voluntary, but we recommend that all members keep at least a cursory eye on what is happening in each on-going Event within any kingdom their character(s) are a part of. This way, you're always up-to-date on the latest drama in your character's homeland.

With the many gossiping nobles and commoners outside the doors, there is plenty of opportunities to eavesdrop and learn something that may not be something that you should have been privy to you. Are you a servant in the Senate, a passing street merchant trying to make his sale quota? Perhaps you're a reporter - someone who works with street callers and town criers? Any and all could be a part of the fun!
Up in Smoke Date: Panamos, 672 BC Location: Aetaea, Athenia Attendance: All Welcome! (who can viably get there) Way In?: You could be travelling through Aetaea and see the billowing smoke from the distance. Perhaps you are a worried family member or friend to the Marikas wondering where exactly Rafail had gone to in the darkness of night? Does your character have relatives in Aetaea? Business or a delivery to make there? Or maybe you had business with the Antonis or Argyris that had you arriving at Aetaea in the worst possible moment?
Olympus Rising Date: Panamos, 672 BC Location: Scholeío, Athenia Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: With a bit of coin even commoners can find their way to the scholeío’s rooftop. Otherwise, you could be hired as staff, to guard the rooftop or provide drinks and food to the many nobles in attendance. Are you a rising scholar? You could work for those that are providing teachings to the people today. If you are of noble or royal blood, there is plenty of reason to find yourself on this rooftop! There are no newspapers or text messages at this time. The only way to find out about distant provinces is to show up and talk to others. And with the rumors of Aetaea’s burning running rampant, there is much to talk about!
Birthday Wishes Date: Artamisios, 674 BC Location: Arcana, Athenia Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: Any royal or noble has reason to go to the birthday party of the youngest Princess. Even if you may not be close, or even friendly, with the Xanthos, this event is as much as a political affair as it is a time to have fun. Or you could be a royal visiting from a different Kingdom to congratulate the Princess and speak business with King Minas. And with three drunk nobles from three different royal houses, there is opportunity to cause a bit of mischief along with them. Otherwise, if you are a commoner and have a previous connection to the Xanthos, perhaps you too also received an invitation to the party? Or you could have been hired to cater or guard the event. All are welcome on this special day!

Viper’s Nest Date: Kuklios, 672 BC Location: Dikastirio Chamber, Midas Attendance: All Colchian Nobles, Retainers, and Courtiers - which includes Colchian commonborn who may garner an invitation. Way In?: The night is still young and it has gotten feisty! Though the Prince and Princess have stepped away from the session, a squabble between two vassal Kotas and Thanasi nobles has broken out and wine has sloshed all over several Drakos members! If you’re a friend (or an opportunist looking to gain favour with a noble house), perhaps offering to help the poor, wine-sodden women will garner you some favour? Additionally, observant eyes will note that Lady Thea has drifted away on her own to the courtyard for some air - a prime target for someone seeking words directly from the source about the rumours? Above all, someone needs to do something to appease the Queen. Perhaps your character has some good news or a vibrant story to tell to distract from the thrown wine?
The Fate We Bear Date: Kuklios, 672 BC Location: Lower Levels, Midas Attendance: All Midas Residents Welcome! Way In?: Everyone is scrambling to find safety, but for some it seems too late. This storm is affecting the entire city, but if the Lower Levels are affected, it can affect the economics of the city, still reeling from the fires a few months ago - so it would do well for the available Colchians to help their fellow men and women, especially with the majority of the city’s men away at war. If you’re a noble, you have forces at your control within the city who can help you assist others. Perhaps you were on your way home but have gotten lost in the wind and rain? Perhaps you were prepared but your neighbour is not - you can help them or open your own doors to them, for kind reasons or not. Regardless, there is already all sorts of debris flying through the air - it’s a dangerous time! Is everyone from your family home??
Blame Date: Kuklios, 672 BC Location: Archontiko Kotas, Midas Attendance: All Welcome (if you can reasonably enter the Kotas estate) Way In?: Potentially having business with the Kotas, the sound of the door caving in can draw you to the scene of the crime. Or with the guards now rushing to the various royals in the manor, one could try to investigate what seems to be the emergency. If you work for the Kotas, you could be around the property when you hear whispering of one of their slaves… disappearing.
Heavy Weight Date: Praratios, 680 BC Location: Pieria, Colchis Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: What’s a competition without an audience?! Especially for a bout that includes the Crown Prince and a notoriously fierce competitor in Captain Damocles. High and low born can come and see, maybe gamble and lose a bit of coin. Perhaps you SEE people gambling and don’t like it - does betting against your Crown Prince count as treason? If you’re a merchant, this is a prime time to make some extra coin. There are also foreign dignitaries present, so why not make a good name for yourself with them too?
Fire And Brimstone Date: Gamos, 675 BC Location: Agora Plateia, Midas Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: With a donkey stampede being stopped by the militants of Colchis, they now need to be wrangled. Are you good with animals and can help take on the task? Ropes and lines might be helpful, maybe you can help find them and bring them to those handlers. On top of that, the crowds are getting rowdier, with punches being thrown and shouts going up between the followers of Ares and Hephaestus. Militants, it might help if you started breaking it up - a bit of law enforcement may be in order. Will both events need to be disbanded? Perhaps in all this, an errant torch has set fire somewhere? Do you have everyone you came to the event with? And….is someone taking advantage of the chaos stealing all the food?
Winter Wonderland Date: Karneios, 684 BC Location: Archontioko Kotas, Colchis Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: It’s a Royal Wedding Reception! Yes, things are a bit cold - maybe you are just now realising that one cloak was not enough? Perhaps you can huddle around the fire and start a bit of gossip. Commoners, this is a prime time to get your faces noticed by the upper crust - did you bring some food and wine to the event to make a bit of coin? Are you representing a guild or a temple and want to ensure your face is seen by the Royals? Perhaps, you are a militant from elsewhere in the kingdom, representing your province well by serving as a guard for the event? And of course, every noble, young and old, would never want to have the rumor spread that they did not come to the wedding - what an insult to the crown that would be!
Artemis’s Honor Date: Artamisios, 676 BC Location: Eubocris, Colchis Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: Are you a soldier of Eubocris? A crime scene is the type of place you may be called to, if only to preserve the area and watch for tampering of evidence. If you had business with the Baron of Eubocris, he is currently at the scene, drawing you to it as well. Or maybe you were just passing through Eubocris and heard trouble coming from the central market and decided to see for yourself what seems to be the matter. Or maybe you’re a bit of a rebel and the thought of tampering with a murder investigation is just too good to pass up…

Way In?: The ladies of the Taengean capitol have congregated on the lawns of the Palati for an outdoors picnic and gossip! An official Court session, all nobles and royals have an existing invitation along with anyone who managed to be brought along as a guest! Perhaps you're one of these lucky few and don't know how to interact? Perhaps you insult someone? Maybe you knock into another person or you say the wrong thing about so-and-so's daughter? Remember, you can use NPCs to make things work and add scandal to the event!
These Walls of Stone Date: Kuklios, 672 BC Location: Isle of Serenn, Taengea Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: The city is preparing for a possible attack! The defenses are going up but someone needs to lift the timber. Or, are you one of the lucky ones trying to heat tar and ensure that every corner of the wall has a pit for using hot oil as a defence? Are you a noble or a retainer and able to go down and greet the Colchian lords? Or a commoner who wants to see the soldiers that are on the way to aid King Achilleas? Remember! These men are about to leave for war. Any ladies of ill-repute wanting to capitalise on that?
Lush Date: Kuklios, 672 BC Location: Epirus, Taengea Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: A celebration for Demeter and Persephone requires pigs and phalluses. Are you an expert in either? Only women are allowed in this event but perhaps you're sneaking in? Maybe a few gents got a little too drunk and thought they could pass for the fairer sex? Maybe the wind is picking up and everyone worries about the stalls and whether the tides will turn and Demeter isn't pleased with her offerings? How about those pig giblets? Way In?: On the shorelines outside Vasiliadon, injured soldiers have turned up in a beaten little boat. Are you a desperate loved one trying to seek answers from the men about where your husband, brother or son might be? Are you someone who can tend to wounds, or at least provide bandages or fetch water? Are you a merchant that has seen all the commotion on the beach and decides to leave his cart unattended for a moment - only to be damn well robbed?! All are welcome in this event!
A Lion's Pride Date: Teleos, 672 BC Location: Archontiko Mikaelidas, Taengea Attendance: Royals, Nobles and rich Commonborn Way In?: Anyone considered prominent enough to claim an invitation will be here at Elise's grand event. Even if you're a low born common that works in the stables who has had to step in for a sick serving slave. Are you someone working the floor with trays of drinks? Perhaps you snuck into the manor and now you're not sure how to get out without bumping into nobles? If you found someone really gullible maybe you could pretend to be one of them? How about guards? Way In?: On the shorelines outside Vasiliadon, injured soldiers have turned up in a beaten little boat. Are you a desperate loved one trying to seek answers from the men about where your husband, brother or son might be? Are you someone who can tend to wounds, or at least provide bandages or fetch water? Are you a merchant that has seen all the commotion on the beach and decides to leave his cart unattended for a moment - only to be damn well robbed?! All are welcome in this event!
A Lion's Pride Date: Teleos, 672 BC Location: Archontiko Mikaelidas, Taengea Attendance: Royals, Nobles and rich Commonborn Way In?: Anyone considered prominent enough to claim an invitation will be here at Elise's grand event. Even if you're a low born common that works in the stables who has had to step in for a sick serving slave. Are you someone working the floor with trays of drinks? Perhaps you snuck into the manor and now you're not sure how to get out without bumping into nobles? If you found someone really gullible maybe you could pretend to be one of them? How about guards? Are you someone employed to keep things calm and maintain decorum during any scandalous gossiping? Or maybe you're the one spreading the rumours?

Hey everyone! I am absolutely LOVING this week and the super activity that has been hitting our tags channel! So much writing about the characters and stories that we know and love! It's wonderful!
As a little thank-you, I have some awesome news for you guys. We are having an event. Yep. A big one. No, like I mean a BIG one. Mark it in your diaries and do NOT miss this. 5th and 6th of September. Two full days. Do not be travelling, do not be working, do not be busy. The event will run from 7am GMT on Saturday morning, until 2am GMT Monday morning. A full schedule of events will be posted over the course of the next month. New Additions We've had new characters added to our accepted roster! Remember! The first member to start a thread with each of our newly accepted characters from new members get to collect Points! Give these characters a shout out in their relevant kingdom channel to get the plotting chat going! Just remember to give their profiles a read so that you can approach their writer with some fun ideas!

New Challenge: Face Lift! At Aeipathy, we're a little bit vain (don't deny it, all your FCs are gorgeous, shoosh.) so we like to show off those pretty faces to the best of their ability. To claim a point this week, give your characters a new face lift with some new mini-profile images! One point per character but if you want to put more than one image up for each of them then go ahead, just for the fun of it! The only rule here is that the image fit properly (220x330 pixels) and are as high definition as you can get them. Seriously - wow us! Post the image and a link to the profile of that character in the #member-challenge channel to acquire your points!
Event Closures Many of our events have now been closed! This is a good thing - it means that our storylines are moving forwards and that we are progressing as a collective community of story-tellers! Whoohoo! If anyone feels as if their own character's plot has been cut off in some way with these closes, my apologies, please come to a staffer and we'll be more than happy to unlock the thread to allow you a closure post and then lock it again after you. Look out for some new Events coming next week!

It is not always easy to get back into the swing of things when your RL forces you to hold back on some characters or be careful with your plotting. And sometimes it takes time to then build those connections again, reach out to brand new people and starting building those plots from the ground up. Cissi has been working diligently on the server to keep her options open and start roleplaying with some brand new peeps and we salute you for it, Cissi!
Our Events and Stories are large, mass threads where everyone who has a viable character for that moment or setting can partake. They are often revolving around key players in our current global plots but they also create great opportunities for characters to meet and greet rather than our site becoming cluttered with 'first encounter' threads. Our Events are voluntary, but we recommend that all members keep at least a cursory eye on what is happening in each on-going Event within any kingdom their character(s) are a part of. This way, you're always up-to-date on the latest drama in your character's homeland.

Lines in the Sand Date: Panamos, 672 BC Location: Dikastírio, Athenia Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: The senate is now open! Perhaps you are a voting member, now’s your chance to have your voice heard. Or maybe you’re seeking to know more about what’s going on? With the many gossiping nobles and commoners outside the doors, there is plenty of opportunities to eavesdrop and learn something that may not be something that you should have been privy to you. Are you a servant in the Senate, a passing street merchant trying to make his sale quota? Perhaps you're a reporter - someone who works with street callers and town criers? Any and all could be a part of the fun!
Up in Smoke Date: Panamos, 672 BC Location: Aetaea, Athenia Attendance: All Welcome! (who can viably get there) Way In?: You could be travelling through Aetaea and see the billowing smoke from the distance. Perhaps you are a worried family member or friend to the Marikas wondering where exactly Rafail had gone to in the darkness of night? Does your character have relatives in Aetaea? Business or a delivery to make there? Or maybe you had business with the Antonis or Argyris that had you arriving at Aetaea in the worst possible moment?
Olympus Rising Date: Panamos, 672 BC Location: Scholeío, Athenia Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: With a bit of coin even commoners can find their way to the scholeío’s rooftop. Otherwise, you could be hired as staff, to guard the rooftop or provide drinks and food to the many nobles in attendance. Are you a rising scholar? You could work for those that are providing teachings to the people today. If you are of noble or royal blood, there is plenty of reason to find yourself on this rooftop! There are no newspapers or text messages at this time. The only way to find out about distant provinces is to show up and talk to others. And with the rumors of Aetaea’s burning running rampant, there is much to talk about!
Birthday Wishes Date: Artamisios, 674 BC Location: Arcana, Athenia Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: Any royal or noble has reason to go to the birthday party of the youngest Princess. Even if you may not be close, or even friendly, with the Xanthos, this event is as much as a political affair as it is a time to have fun. Or you could be a royal visiting from a different Kingdom to congratulate the Princess and speak business with King Minas. And with three drunk nobles from three different royal houses, there is opportunity to cause a bit of mischief along with them. Otherwise, if you are a commoner and have a previous connection to the Xanthos, perhaps you too also received an invitation to the party? Or you could have been hired to cater or guard the event. All are welcome on this special day!

Viper’s Nest Date: Kuklios, 672 BC Location: Dikastirio Chamber, Midas Attendance: All Colchian Nobles, Retainers, and Courtiers - which includes Colchian commonborn who may garner an invitation. Way In?: The night is still young and it has gotten feisty! Though the Prince and Princess have stepped away from the session, a squabble between two vassal Kotas and Thanasi nobles has broken out and wine has sloshed all over several Drakos members! If you’re a friend (or an opportunist looking to gain favour with a noble house), perhaps offering to help the poor, wine-sodden women will garner you some favour? Additionally, observant eyes will note that Lady Thea has drifted away on her own to the courtyard for some air - a prime target for someone seeking words directly from the source about the rumours? Above all, someone needs to do something to appease the Queen. Perhaps your character has some good news or a vibrant story to tell to distract from the thrown wine?
The Fate We Bear Date: Kuklios, 672 BC Location: Lower Levels, Midas Attendance: All Midas Residents Welcome! Way In?: Everyone is scrambling to find safety, but for some it seems too late. This storm is affecting the entire city, but if the Lower Levels are affected, it can affect the economics of the city, still reeling from the fires a few months ago - so it would do well for the available Colchians to help their fellow men and women, especially with the majority of the city’s men away at war. If you’re a noble, you have forces at your control within the city who can help you assist others. Perhaps you were on your way home but have gotten lost in the wind and rain? Perhaps you were prepared but your neighbour is not - you can help them or open your own doors to them, for kind reasons or not. Regardless, there is already all sorts of debris flying through the air - it’s a dangerous time! Is everyone from your family home??
Blame Date: Kuklios, 672 BC Location: Archontiko Kotas, Midas Attendance: All Welcome (if you can reasonably enter the Kotas estate) Way In?: Potentially having business with the Kotas, the sound of the door caving in can draw you to the scene of the crime. Or with the guards now rushing to the various royals in the manor, one could try to investigate what seems to be the emergency. If you work for the Kotas, you could be around the property when you hear whispering of one of their slaves… disappearing.
Heavy Weight Date: Praratios, 680 BC Location: Pieria, Colchis Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: What’s a competition without an audience?! Especially for a bout that includes the Crown Prince and a notoriously fierce competitor in Captain Damocles. High and low born can come and see, maybe gamble and lose a bit of coin. Perhaps you SEE people gambling and don’t like it - does betting against your Crown Prince count as treason? If you’re a merchant, this is a prime time to make some extra coin. There are also foreign dignitaries present, so why not make a good name for yourself with them too?
Fire And Brimstone Date: Gamos, 675 BC Location: Agora Plateia, Midas Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: With a donkey stampede being stopped by the militants of Colchis, they now need to be wrangled. Are you good with animals and can help take on the task? Ropes and lines might be helpful, maybe you can help find them and bring them to those handlers. On top of that, the crowds are getting rowdier, with punches being thrown and shouts going up between the followers of Ares and Hephaestus. Militants, it might help if you started breaking it up - a bit of law enforcement may be in order. Will both events need to be disbanded? Perhaps in all this, an errant torch has set fire somewhere? Do you have everyone you came to the event with? And….is someone taking advantage of the chaos stealing all the food?
Winter Wonderland Date: Karneios, 684 BC Location: Archontioko Kotas, Colchis Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: It’s a Royal Wedding Reception! Yes, things are a bit cold - maybe you are just now realising that one cloak was not enough? Perhaps you can huddle around the fire and start a bit of gossip. Commoners, this is a prime time to get your faces noticed by the upper crust - did you bring some food and wine to the event to make a bit of coin? Are you representing a guild or a temple and want to ensure your face is seen by the Royals? Perhaps, you are a militant from elsewhere in the kingdom, representing your province well by serving as a guard for the event? And of course, every noble, young and old, would never want to have the rumor spread that they did not come to the wedding - what an insult to the crown that would be!
Artemis’s Honor Date: Artamisios, 676 BC Location: Eubocris, Colchis Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: Are you a soldier of Eubocris? A crime scene is the type of place you may be called to, if only to preserve the area and watch for tampering of evidence. If you had business with the Baron of Eubocris, he is currently at the scene, drawing you to it as well. Or maybe you were just passing through Eubocris and heard trouble coming from the central market and decided to see for yourself what seems to be the matter. Or maybe you’re a bit of a rebel and the thought of tampering with a murder investigation is just too good to pass up…

As Autumn Falls Date: Panamos, 672 BC Location: Palati Grounds, Mikaelidas Palati, Taengea Attendance: All Nobles and Royals (mostly women) or their attendants. Way In?: The ladies of the Taengean capitol have congregated on the lawns of the Palati for an outdoors picnic and gossip! An official Court session, all nobles and royals have an existing invitation along with anyone who managed to be brought along as a guest! Perhaps you're one of these lucky few and don't know how to interact? Perhaps you insult someone? Maybe you knock into another person or you say the wrong thing about so-and-so's daughter? Remember, you can use NPCs to make things work and add scandal to the event!
These Walls of Stone Date: Kuklios, 672 BC Location: Isle of Serenn, Taengea Attendance: All Welcome! Way In?: The city is preparing for a possible attack! The defenses are going up but someone needs to lift the timber. Or, are you one of the lucky ones trying to heat tar and ensure that every corner of the wall has a pit for using hot oil as a defence? Are you a noble or a retainer and able to go down and greet the Colchian lords? Or a commoner who wants to see the soldiers that are on the way to aid King Achilleas? Remember! These men are about to leave for war. Any ladies of ill-repute wanting to capitalise on that?
