I mean...don't we all regret checking our word count? Forgiddbout it. Good Sunday, folks! Guess what? The world hasn't exploded and we won't either. That's comforting. November is in full swing and we've seen members coming out and posting up a storm! It's been amazing! The staff team are working behind the scenes to make sure we've got some fun stuff coming up for December, Urit's doing amazing running our Nano, and even in this chaotic real life all around us, I think we're doing alright in here. Knocks on wood.
Just a brief thing to mention: If you have wanteds, noble house ideas, site suggestions, or anything of that ilk, please PM the staff account. Things get lost in discord DMs and the Talking Heads all have access to the same PM on the site, so that we can all see what's needed to be done. New Member Challenge: Music And Lyrics Ladies and gents, this week’s Member Challenge is to bring music to life and incorporate some song lyrics in a post. You can do this however you like to earn a member point this week, with a bonus point if your thread partner manages to include the next lyric in their reply. These references should not be obvious and should fit organically within your writing. Post the link in our #member-challenge channel on Discord with the song title so we can verify. NaNoWriMo 2020 Hey, everyone! The first entire week of NaNoWriMo has come to an end! Between the 1st of November and the 7th of November we have written a cumulative of 99,953 words and 157 posts between all of us. That is a lot of posting. I know that some of you have set yourselves really high goals, but don't start flagging now. We still have three more weeks of writing left, and I am confident that if you want to make it to your word count goals, you absolutely can if you set your mind to it. If you are ever curious about what your word count is for the month, I updated the listing every morning when I first wake up. Feel free to DM me (Urit) if you would like and I can drop you your word count so that you can keep writing and make the perfect plan of attack for yourself to tackle such a large project!
Update: Event Closure Polls We threw some polls up a couple weeks ago, asking for you all to vote and see what you’d like to close to make way for new events and provincial stories! Way In?: Outside the gates to the palati a crowd begins to gather: one, two, three, twenty men deep. The Athenian Guard stand by restlessly as grumbles of dissatisfaction grow. A rock is thrown toward the palati, then another, aiming for Rafail of Marikas as he tries to convince the rabble to go home, but his presence only inflames their ire towards the upper class. The mood is tense and laced with the threat of violence. Athenians - don’t you want to really set an example of those who have wronged you? Just how far do you need to be pushed before reaching the edge of your patience? And nobles - surely there was more you could have done before now, but it seems it’s too late. Are you trying to get home to find it surrounded? Where can you turn?

Way In?: Everyone in Midas gathers at the shore to set their offerings to the gods out to sea, praying to Ares and Poseidon, as well as the others in the pantheon, to protect their loved ones. Are you a merchant looking to make a bit of coin off those who seek the favor of the gods? This is a large crowd, including many of the upper classes. Are you seeking employment among the nobles now that the men are gone and there is much to be done in Colchis? It might do well to garner some favors here. And, yes, with large crowds are the potential for pickpockets and some drama. Don’t slip on the slick stone shores and fall into the water. Does a candle that goes out from an errant splash mean the doom of your loved one??

Especially for a bout that includes the Crown Prince Vangelis of Kotas and a notoriously fierce competitor in Captain @damocles. A new competition has started between @lesley and @maleos, both competitors sizing one another up. High and low born can come and see, maybe gamble and lose a bit of coin. Voice your choice! Hear your cheer! Shout for the bout! There is a lot to be excited for here as the competition wages on. Or, perhaps, go find a bite to eat at one of the merchant stalls and catch up with a friend!

Yes, things are a bit cold - maybe you are just now realising that one cloak was not enough? Perhaps you can huddle around the fire and start a bit of gossip. Commoners, this is a prime time to get your faces noticed by the upper crust - did you bring some food and wine to the event to make a bit of coin? Are you representing a guild or a temple and want to ensure your face is seen by the Royals? Perhaps, you are a militant from elsewhere in the kingdom, representing your province well by serving as a guard for the event? And of course, every noble, young and old, would never want to have the rumor spread that they did not come to the wedding - what an insult to the crown that would be! What was that? The children are still making war with snowballs, and now a high Mihail of Thanasi joins his cousin @tythra. Speaking of the Princess, she looks worried about something. Did little @essa get lost in the crowd, or is her mother suffering from the drugs that she had?

Way In?: As @timaeus continues his investigation, with several observers including @celine and @adelpha, new evidence has been discovered - a dismembered human phallus! In her mouth! Have you ever heard of such a thing? Who would do that?? And more importantly…..who is missing something?? With the entrances to the city blocked in an attempt to catch the murderer.. Is there someone that knows about such things? Is it a curse you’ve heard of? Also, do the markings on her body mean anything to you? Maybe you remember seeing a stranger in the market earlier and you could advise the Baron for them to be questioned. If you are not involved at this point, any sort of crowd can draw you in curiously. @celine seems to be having a hard time breathing - can you help her?

Lady @melina and her handmaiden @xanthippe have already made their exit. Perhaps this is your chance to follow suit and summon your carriages as well. @theodora looks a tad ill. Does she need an escort to a healer? It’s best to go home before the rain gets even worse.

I mean...don't we all regret checking our word count? Forgiddbout it. Good Sunday, folks! Guess what? The world hasn't exploded and we won't either. That's comforting. November is in full swing and we've seen members coming out and posting up a storm! It's been amazing! The staff team are working behind the scenes to make sure we've got some fun stuff coming up for December, Urit's doing amazing running our Nano, and even in this chaotic real life all around us, I think we're doing alright in here. Knocks on wood.
Just a brief thing to mention: If you have wanteds, noble house ideas, site suggestions, or anything of that ilk, please PM the staff account. Things get lost in discord DMs and the Talking Heads all have access to the same PM on the site, so that we can all see what's needed to be done. You can do this however you like to earn a member point this week, with a bonus point if your thread partner manages to include the next lyric in their reply. NaNoWriMo 2020 Hey, everyone! The first entire week of NaNoWriMo has come to an end! Between the 1st of November and the 7th of November we have written a cumulative of 99,953 words and 157 posts between all of us. That is a lot of posting. I know that some of you have set yourselves really high goals, but don't start flagging now. We still have three more weeks of writing left, and I am confident that if you want to make it to your word count goals, you absolutely can if you set your mind to it. If you are ever curious about what your word count is for the month, I updated the listing every morning when I first wake up. Feel free to DM me (Urit) if you would like and I can drop you your word count so that you can keep writing and make the perfect plan of attack for yourself to tackle such a large project!
