This eventHarsiseis stood at the edge of the pool in his Du’at, bare feet dipping into the cool water which lapped softly along shelved sand. Date palms and grasses added to the likeness of one of the desert oasis he was so fond of, and whilst usually he liked the mirror-like reflections of his own sweeping skyscapes- call it vanity if you must- the pool had other uses too. Right now, the vivid blue of his attention was focused on the tableau he could see unfolding upon the surface of the shallow waters. He had been keeping an eye on Monopotapa and the coastline ever since that little gaggle of greeks had washed up there. If he’d had a hand to play in the storm that saw their crippled ships land upon Egypt’s shore, well that was noone’s business but his own was it. Now he watched as more greeks scuttled like beetles as they prepared to face the might of his people. The greeks, the warrior nation ones as he was led to believe, they scurried about making ready. Now they knew the other king was gone there was more at stake. Good, he wanted a proper fight. The last had been so unfairly weighted in numbers he’d almost felt moved to lend a hand to the greeks, just so it would be a fight worth watching. Above the beach, the Pharoah himself had yet to join the fray, but the god was watching anyway, watching him and one of the other humans who he had an interest in, the H’Moghadam General. They were an interesting pair, and though it was the Pharoah who proclaimed himself in Horus’ likeness -the arrogance of the human race never ceased to amaze him - it was the other that Harsiseis found more pleasing. The General had been wronged, the Pharoah having laid claim to a victory not his own to see himself into his position and while Horus might usually admire such ambition, he did not appreciate the underhand tactics that had been employed. And he knew the Moghadam General’s thoughts, and watched with a sharp curiosity to see if it would be now that the man would choose to make his move. He toyed with the idea of giving him a helping hand, but that would depend on how events unfolded in the days to come. The man had the perfect opportunity to prove himself worthy now, a war to win, and Horus was looking forward to seeing how he would use it. For now, he watched. |
