Elias watched her in the water before him. She stated that her goal had been to ensure he enjoyed himself, and to share her favorite places—a little bit, she had said. So there was more to see? Her smile was… breathtaking, like a little bit of sunshine upon the Earth, the gods must agree that this was his future wife. Otherwise, he would not find himself enjoying her company in such a platonic manner; enjoying the fight she put up against her own feelings.
She lowered herself in the water, and his gaze followed. Her cheeks were flushed, even though the water distorted her image, he was quite certain she was hiding a blush. Adorable, really. He enjoyed making women blush; and usually he had to put forth much more charm than honesty. How… intriguing. He’d work out what made Athanasia tick, eventually. When she was his.
She tried to change the topic, and he raised his eyebrows. “Well, to be quite honest, my father does not believe in ‘fun’, and I cannot afford to have fun. I’m to be the next King of Athenia,” and though he was only heir successor, everyone said that Alehandros did not want the throne and would pass it off. It’d been ingrained in his very soul for as long as he could remember, that he would be king, and therefore he had no shame in stating something along those lines so bluntly. “And I’ve been told that there is no fun to be had within politics.” He chuckled wryly, at himself, as he considered how to answer about his work with his father.
“My family are… commercial businessmen, as well as politicians. It began in ship-building, and now extends through fruit production, cargo transport, grain production, housing and land ownership, even people.” He’s neutral-toned, giving away very little about how he might feel about the family’s most recent acquisition involving people. “We deal with stone, clay, wine… Really, anything anyone in Athenia could want.”
“I was actually brought to Colchis by my father, to discuss trade with a few Colchians.” He stated, pursing his lips, “You, my dear, are just lucky to have caught me during my rare moments of freedom from meetings. Do you know how dull discussing trade is?” He had to admit, he looked forward to his time with her, even if she was complex and confusing.
He had more power than he cared to admit, as he was currently. His family was involved in so many forms of exports, that it was ridiculous how much in Athenia went back to them. Not that he found it to be ridiculous, of course.
She had followed the initial question up with statements, that she was aware it was perhaps not her place—though she had the same education that her brother’s had, and he grinned, reaching out to cup her cheek gently. “So tell me, Athanasia? If power is just a man’s game, why does a woman hold so much power by simply existing?” He raised his eyebrows, studying her, as they stood on the bottom of the shore, the lowest point of shore under the water.
“Tell me, what do you plan to do with your education? Princesses, especially when there are multiple male heirs already, are often left with very little political power. Do you want more power?” He tilted his head, fingers stroking her cheek, reaching to run through her hair. “Or are you content to be married to someone, who would expect you to do nothing more than be a fixture within the household that he gives you to run?”
His words were quiet, as he leaned toward her, “Never settle for being someone’s fixture,” his hand in her hair, he sought to keep her from running from him, as he leaned to press a kiss to her cheek. It was chaste, all things considered, and he released her and straightened quite soon after.
No need to scare her off, after all.
He raised an eyebrow as he learned that someone else had invited her to Athenia, before him. He found that his chest tightened with an emotion that could only be described as possessive rage; though his features were clear of his anger.
Like a child, near throwing a tantrum, he pondered who might have cause to invite the young woman to Athenia, other than himself… she had spent so much time with him, created a series of rumors, almost willingly. Surely, she was not betrothed. Surely she was not courting, or Niobe would have told him. And yet, he did not put it past Niobe to try to spoil his plans. The damn woman cared too much about having him for herself.
“Arcasis is one of the most populated provinces in Athenia; there is opportunity to do almost anything there, they call it the dreamer’s paradise. And you… seem like a dreamer.”

What was it that had Athanasia opening up to Elias as she was? Looking up at him from her lowered spot in the water, she wondered just what it was that had her opening up to him when he wasn't outright flirting with her. He was interesting, that was for sure, though Asia wasn't sure if he would still be interested when she learns everything about him. Would she still enjoy hanging out with him like she was? He seemed to know how to keep her on her toes, that was for sure and for reasons she could not pinpoint, she didn't hate it.
Athanasia was curious about the man that was in front of her, not just for his being the most handsome man that she ever saw, but his mind seemed to draw her in. When asked about having all sorts of time for fun, Elias' answer surprised her. "Just because your father doesn't believe in fun, though that does sadden me greatly. I can not imagine not having fun when I spend time with my own father. You seem like you have loads of fun wherever you go. Outside of getting smacked with a peach." She had too; teased about their first meeting and just how angry he was that moment. She ducked quickly to hide her smile in the water, but instead a laugh forced its way free, bubbles escaping and preventing her from staying hidden so she could breathe as she giggled. "While I still feel bad about the peach hitting you, I can not say that I regret it happening." Asia didn't comment on his mention of him becoming the next king of Athenia. She didn't know what she could say to it, titles were important but she would have found him interesting as he was with any title or not. "I can see though how politics could be rather dull, but outside of the senate and courts. My father and brother often seem annoyed or tired when they've had a long meeting."
She prodded for more information, asking about his family's work. To say she was impressed was an understatement. "Both trade and politicians? Sounds very busy indeed. Though it is nice to know that you deal with fruit, now I know who to pester when I want more peaches." Now she gave Elias a grin, showing that she was teasing him outright now and that at that moment, she was comfortable. She was tempted to ask about his comment on people, but assumed he meant that he sold slaves to rich homes that wanted them. She just hoped it was to people who treated others well, like how her own family treated their own. When he said 'anything', Athanasia's head tilted slightly to the side as she looked up at him and smiled. "Anything, huh?"
When Elias commented on coming to Colchis for trade, she had to inquire, "What trade? Anything I can help with? I mean.. if I know them, I could possibly help you out. If you need any, not saying you do, just if you do." Now she was rambling, having become embarrassed after offering to help him, even as she was sure he did not need it. "I guess it was lucky that you had free time, and I am glad I was able to show you something fun today." Here in her place, her hideaway, Athanasia found it difficult to keep up her walls. To keep the courtly aloof temperaments as they seemed to dive into more personal questions about themselves. Which had Asia bumbling through again as she tried to explain that she understood, even if Elias might think she shouldn't because she was a woman.
Athanasia was rambling on about having the same education that her brothers had, when a warm hand pressed against her cheek. The action made Athanasia freeze as she looked up into Elias' eyes, her surprise clear even as she did not pull away just yet. His question drew her in. Just as much power? "How..?" her voice was soft, almost a whisper, as her gaze never moved from Elias'. How would they have as much power, when they are barred from so much? How could she prove that she was just as good as her brothers, if not better than them? How could she show that she was not a baby and to be coddled? So many questions surrounding her one word, something that quite possibly, he would be able to see just from how she looked up at him.
Elias had caught her mind, like a fish on a line, he had tapped into the one thing that no one else ever thought too. Her ambition. As he stroked her cheek, asking his questions, she didn't even realise that she turned her head into his touch. "I want to be better than them. I want to prove that I am not a baby to be coddled and hidden away. I fight and learn with the men, so one day I can show my brothers that I can beat them. In both mental and physical strengths." Athanasia did not move away as he moved closer, the heat of his skin radiating like sunlight through her wet clothes. Why did she not run away? Elias' fingers laced through the wet strands of her hair, now effectively locking her in place.
It was surprising to Athanasia that she did not fight it, did not move short of her own hand sliding over the wet skin of his forearm. For all appearances it looked like she might possibly pull his arm away, but she never did. Elias' next question had her shiver in fear at the thought of becoming someone's fixture. "Never. I will never get married, so that will solve that. I refuse to ever become someone's slaving away broodmare." She couldn't move, his hand holding her as he moved closer, trembling now from both the fear of becoming owned and her own anger knowing that there was a chance that she could be given away for connections. It wasn't likely that her father would allow that, but she did know that her mother talked often of her future marriage. Asia almost missed what Elias said before he kissed her cheek. 'Never settle for being someone's fixture.' Was he saying what she thought he was? Was it ok to not want to be anyones? She knew that the men in her family would be just as happy if she never left, at least she thought so.
When he pulled away, for some reason, Athanasia suddenly wanted to pull him close again as it now felt colder again. Elias still stood so close to her, was he making her crazy? As they spoke on Athenia and coming to visit, Asia smiled when she told Elias that she had an invite from someone else as well. "Arcasis sounds like it could be a lot of fun, though for a man who doesn't have much fun, you seem to know a lot. As for a dreamer, how would you know of my dreams? What do you dream of, my Lord?"

Elias was getting the young woman right where he wanted her; that was becoming clearer, the more time he spent with her. He shrugged, musing softly, “But how one seems is not how one is truly is, Athanasia. People can be many things, at any point in time.” There were many games in play, and this poor girl was becoming entangled in a game of power. Not that Elias would think she was ‘poor’ as it were, she was quite lucky to have caught his eye.
She stated that she did not regret throwing that peach, and he laughed, in earnest. Dark eyes glinting in the sunlight, as he shook his head, “No, I suppose you should not regret the incident with the peach. I certainly do not. I have no doubt that you and I would have met otherwise, but the incident was much more interesting than any other way we could have met.” He stated, tilting his head as she spoke.
Politics, she said, seemed rather dull. Oh, but that was the opposite. The issue was that politics were everything to Elias; had been his everything for so long that doing anything outside of those politics was… not something he considered. “Perhaps. The Senate and the Court can be exceptionally thrilling at times, though at other times it can be numbing. Especially if you haven’t the mind for such things. Not all people are made to be politicians.”
Elias listened as she made jokes about his connection to fruits, and he rolled his eyes, clearly more amused than annoyed. Then she was tilting her head, and smiling up at him, and he raised his eyebrows. “Why, yes. Almost anything. Is there something you need, dear one?” He brushed his thumb along her cheek, tracing her cheekbone.
When he brought up trade with the Colchians, she perked up, inquiring after it. “Ah, Athanasia. Let’s leave work for another time, hm? You’ve said today was supposed to be fun, and here you are rambling about my work. While I appreciate the enthusiasm…” He smirked, “…you contradict yourself, and we don’t need that.”
And then he was tightening the threads that tied her to him, dying them golden in his honeyed gaze. She whispered, softly, and he leaned to purr in her ear, “Any smart woman can bring a man to his knees, darling. She just has to know what to do.” He raised a hand to run through her hair, “A man cannot have a child, and therefore a legacy, without a woman. So though families pass patrilineal, they would not exist without women.” He studied her, she was truly astute. Lovely, and becoming even more lovelier the longer he spent entrapping her.
“Marriage is both a blessing and a curse, as marriage ties a woman to a man, to his family—and then that man traps her, demanding children and very little else. It’s a flaw in how most men see their women.” He stated, softly, dark eyes searching her own. “So never reject the idea of marriage, Athanasia, because you are trapping yourself in yet another cage. You must pick a cage, and if you choose a suitor wisely, perhaps there is even more power waiting.”
She was explaining how she wanted to be better than her brothers, to prove that she was not a child to be coddled and protected, and he grinned down at her. He’d kissed her, and straightened and he thought he had caught a glint of disappointment in her eyes. He shifted, to slip an arm around her shoulders, casually.
“If you wed the right man, Athanasia, you might find that he will give you more power than other women in that position get. Not all men want to lock their wives up to have them be nothing more than broodmares, as you put it.”
He’s quiet again, as Athanasia brings up Arcasis. She’s asked him a question, and he releases her, sighing softly. “I dream of a throne, with a woman who is just as ambitious as I. It’d be terribly lonesome to rule as my uncle does, alone. Terribly burdensome, too. But if I must wed, I want a wife who wants to have a say—have power of her own.” It’s an honest answer, though perhaps it’s too honest.

Athanasia laughed when Elias seemed to have lost all the calm control he was trying too hard to hold onto when she mentioned not regretting pegging him right in the face with his most hated fruit. Though when he stated that he did not regret it either, Elias earned himself a little more favor in her eyes. He was cracking her walls and she didn't even realize it. "Why do you think that we would have met otherwise? Who's to say I would have gone to dinner? Or been anywhere but right here in this spot, that you did not know about?" Asia smiled up at him, scrunching her nose playfully as she spoke on the many ways that they very likely could have missed each other. "I agree though. It is not everyday you meet someone through a peach and then a chase."
As the talk turned to politics, Athanasia nodded at Elias' words as she listened. He did have a point. "I can see how they could be, but since I am not allowed in the senate unless I sneak in, and usually I find myself preoccupied with other things to want too. I can only go by how my father and Vangelis seem when the meetings are done. I know Vangelis seems like he hates going to the meetings, but he still goes. What do you like about them?" She was learning all that she could about this man before her, wondering just what made him tick. It was interesting to her how he would seem to ooze charm and the next almost completely different.
So as she teased him about the fruit trade, Asia's smile grew as Elias playfully rolled his eyes. "What?" She asked innocently, "Peaches are my second favorite fruit, only second to apricots." Athanasia was being cheeky as she smiled sweetly up at him before asking about his comment on getting anything. "Hmm.. Well 'almost anything' is quite different now. So I guess I can't ask if you could get me some ambrosia to try, since it is the food of the gods?" Her smile fell only slightly as it went from being teasing to being thoughtful as his thumb caressed her cheek. She had never let another man touch her like this, not one that wasn't family, and those moments were few and far between. So why did she not run from him? Or that she didn't hate that he called her 'dear one'?
This man was dangerous for her willpower, as they spoke on trades in Colchis, Elias' comment on her contradicting herself almost earned himself a bite. His hand was so close, it was tempting as she gave him a bland look. "Well, what if I found the topic fun? Then I wouldn't be contradicting myself, now would I?" Asia dropped her hand from Elias' arm as she crossed her arms in front of her, shivering. Though she wasn't sure if she was shivering; was it from Elias' smirk or was it from the water? Or was it in fear of his following comments on marriage?
Athanasia wasn't sure what he would do now that she stated that she would never get married, that she refused the practice of it all. She had heard the stories and knew that marriages like her parents were rare. So to avoid it all, she would avoid it all. As Elias spoke of cages and to pick suitors, Athanasia started to step away from him. She was becoming all too aware of just how close he was standing to her now as he held her pinned by her hair in a gentle hold. She knew if she pulled hard enough, Elias would let her go, so she didn't fight too hard yet. It played along with his comments of being trapped to a man, so when she met his eyes this time, he would see the fear there as he spoke of cages, traps, babies, and suitors. Her heart raced as her breath quickened, she was ready to shove him away if he pushed further. She did not fear for her safety, somehow she trusted him enough to know that he would not physically hurt her, but her mind would not stop picturing golden cages with little birds trapped inside.
Elias had gotten her to speak on her ambitions and dreams to be better than her brothers, no one would ever make them get married if they didn't want to, so why did she? He was grinning as he kissed her cheek again, just like in the market before he finally let her go. The loss of his nearness, made the water feel extra cold now, only warming back up when he surprised her with an arm wrapped around her shoulders. Elias was getting extra touchy as he spoke of marriage. At least it gave her a chance to hide her expressions from him, her arms still wrapped tightly around her middle as she looked down at her reflection in the water. "That is not what I heard. Unless you are including that the men you speak on are super rare. I know this. I have known this since suitors started coming around at my mother's request. So I know how rare anything like my parents have is. The servants have told me plenty." She's seen the bruises, she has seen the split skin from punches, and she has felt hands grab her as well as they tried. Pulling her dagger off of her hip, she held it up to glitter in the water and light for him to see it. "Want to know why this was my fifteenth birthday gift?" She would allow him to hold it, if Elias reached for it to look. "I got it because when I was fourteen, a man visited and said he wanted to meet me. It was to talk with my parents and I about possible marriage, since I was the youngest, it was ok that he was a noble."
Asia's voice shook as she spoke next, not daring to look at him as she put one hand between them as she touched a spot on her right hip as she traced the area. "I have a scar here, I got it when I was very very young. It is why usually I hate being touched by anyone that isn't family, also why I do not like the dark. Telling you that, now you understand why I did not like it when the man touched me. Told me I would be his anyway and that I had no choice in the matter." Only till this moment, Athanasia finally dared to look over her shoulder and up at Elias, "I almost completely cut his finger off for touching me without my permission."
Talks shifted, changing to something a little more open as Asia asked him what he dreamed of, his answer kind of surprising her since she thought the throne was his already. "I hope you can fulfill your dream, my Lord. Though I would also hope that you would love that person, if only for happiness in the future. Power is one thing, and a throne can be any chair, it is the person in it that makes it a throne. Also, if you have love, it would be less lonely too, from what I hear anyways." She did not shun his dream at all, she added her own wish for him to find happiness while still getting what he wanted.

Elias watched her, as she asked how else they might have met that day, if they had not met one another. “Who knows, the Fates have clearly decided it was our time to meet, or we would not be here.” He stated, quietly.
He tilted his head to the side, as she asked about what he enjoyed in regards to the Senate meetings. “Well, I enjoy the arguing… the atmosphere that a dozen or more politicians create, it’s exhilarating.” He explained, easily. There was no better way to put it. He was quite lazy, and did not do things he did not enjoy—that was why he had other people who ran his holdings. He did not enjoy that aspect so he did not deal with it, he delegated it to people who did not mind not receiving the credit for doing the actions. It was lucrative, and it worked.
He raised an eyebrow as she informed him that peaches were her second favorite fruit, shaking his head. “You and your adoration for peaches, may very well be the death of me, Athanasia.” He sounded serious, thought he eyes glinted with amusement. Her face fell into a thoughtful stare, and he chuckled. “Mmm, I cannot acquire ambrosia for you, but anything on the mortal plane is fair game.” He clarified.
“Contradiction brings about amusing talks, so it is not a terrible thing. But you should ensure to never contradict yourself on important matters that are being spoken about at length to the public, if I were to contradict myself in the Senate, I would have a dozen men who recognized that misstep, and come for me.” He stated, evenly.
The conversation turned towards a much more serious topic, his hand in her hair, pinning her in place gently. He watched her, catching the fear in her eyes, the way her breathing quickened. She was like an animal circled by hunting dogs, and he could easily see that. He was swift to release her, and settle an arm around her shoulders instead, listening to her. “Yes, the men are quite rare, the ones who do not fear a woman so much as to keep her from power of her own, that she rightly deserves to possess. But they are not extinct.” He stated, firmly.
She presents her dagger to him, and he allowed his gaze to roam the blade slowly. A birthday gift to a princess? How odd, but not unheard of, and he supposed that Colchis did focus on military matters more than anything else. He listened, his features neutral, though his eyes were hard. He did not quite like the idea of someone else marrying this woman, a possessive rage boiled in his veins. She looked up at him, and he squeezed her to his side, in a tighter hug.
“Good. Any man that treats you like that, certainly would cage you with nothing for yourself but dreams. I’m proud of you, for standing up for yourself and knowing what you desire.” His features had softened, as she had revealed that she had almost amputated a man’s finger for inappropriately touching her without permission. She was much more hardened than most of the women he entertained, barring Niobe who had been property.
Elias hummed, “Well, the throne is an almost certainty. But everything after that, depends on what the Fates allow.” He did not ignore the fact she had tacked her own dream to his, and he leaned to kiss the top of her head, murmuring, “You’re a very smart woman, Athanasia, with wise words to an even wiser spirit. You would make a perfect queen, and I hope that one day you find a man who is deserving of you by his side.”
He was never this chaste with a woman; but then, he was used to changing how he wooed a woman to suit the woman. Athanasia was just throwing him for a loop—but once a manipulator, always a manipulator. And with the princess, he was playing an extremely long game. Wheels were already turning, ideas already forming.
“You’re shivering. Let’s go ashore for a bit and dry off before it gets too late.” He suggested, guiding her towards the shore slowly, arm still loosely around her. She could easily slip away from him, if he wanted.

When Elias mentioned the Fates, Athanasia had to smile at the thought, it was hard to disagree with his comment. The topic shifted smoothly between them as they spoke on senate meetings and what they like to do for fun. It fascinated her that Elias would like arguing, it made her think that she could give him a run for his money though with the argument topics. Her mother seemed to think that she argued often enough, so maybe they could put that to the test?
As the talk shifted to peaches, Athanasia gave Elias a cheeky smile as she looked at him with a practiced innocence. "What? If I offered you my very last peach, are you saying that it would kill you?" She could see his eyes glittering with amusement, solidifying her wanting to offer him a peach to eat every single chance she got. "I do know where some peach trees are, if you would like a snack?" Their talk was an easy one, it surprised her at how comfortable she was with him already. So when he teased her back about the ambrosia, Athanasia grinned, "So a Pegasus then. I heard people claim to have seen him before." She knew she was messing with him, but she was having fun doing so as she wondered if she could possibly annoy him. He always seemed so calm, unless hit with a peach.
When talking of contradicting herself, Asia gave him a smile as she shrugged her one shoulder up as she shook her head. "Though I did not contradict myself, I do find things interesting about trade and from what I heard it sounds like it could be loads of fun. I never had to deal with it on a personal level outside of a marketplace, but I had read about it. Though I do see what you mean about not wanting to contradict yourself when so many listen to you. No one listens to me, so I never had to worry about it."
As the talk shifted to something more serious, and travelled into places that were not Asia's usual topics of conversation, she had no idea on what Elias would do when the fear overtook her. All this talk about her getting married and having to pick suitors, Athanasia could feel the panic climb up her throat. It was threatening to suffocate her till suddenly she was let go. Elias moved quickly as he let go of her hair and held her close with one arm. It was a move that comforted her and let her feel like she could breathe just a little easier as she could see a way that she could leave if she really wanted to. His words about men were comforting. She wondered if she would ever meet one like that that she would actually want, someone who wouldn't make her panic.
She never expected this from Elias as she opened up to him about things that she didn't even talk about with her own family. Athanasia didn't understand it but somehow she felt safe with him, even though she probably shouldn't. So as she showed him her dagger and also spoke on her one scar that no one but her family knew about, about her fear of the dark and of not liking being touched. Athanasia's strongest defenses against the world were shattered and all it took was a panic attack as she was being held by a man talking about marriage. So when she looked up at Elias, Athanasia could see the anger in his eyes even as he pulled her closer in a tighter hug. Her arms were still wrapped around her middle but she didn't fight the hug, even turning to lean into it as she hid her face against his chest, his heart beating in a soothing rhythm as his warmth enveloped her. It was comforting.
So as Elias told her that he was proud of her, Athanasia had to work to swallow around the lump forming in her throat. So many possible responses that were anticipated, Asia never predicted Elias pulling her closer and telling her he was proud of her that she almost cut a man's finger off. It was like her brothers and father, they were proud too. Asia's mother was not happy though, even if she was happy that the man didn't get any further.
Athanasia didn't move as she turned the talk to something a little different as she asked about his dreams, adding her own on his. "Almost? What would you do if the almost doesn't happen as you would like it to?" Asia could still feel Elias' heart beating against her cheek as she closed her eyes, she stood there in his hug still and for once just relaxed into him, smiling softly as he kissed the top of her head. The panic earlier taking whatever strength that she had for the moment, so she listened to his voice vibrate through him as it surrounded her. He was so warm too, so Asia was in no rush to move now. "How do you know I would make a good queen? I..." She had no idea on how to respond to his hope for her, no one ever talked with her like this. "Thank you."
The cold water was becoming too crisp now that they just stood still, that and feeling Elias' warmth around her, Athanasia was shivering even as she was trying not too. It seemed like he still noticed though as Elias suggested they go and dry off. Athanasia's eyes were still closed as he started to move and she moved with him, almost feeling like a dance as they glided over the lake floor. For a moment, she wondered who made a move and who followed, not even thinking about the next step. She already felt like her awakeness shifted into becoming a dream that starred Elias, and she didn't hate it. "You're so warm.." Her voice was soft as she slowly let go of her middle and moved her arms to hold onto Elias.

Her voice was soft as she slowly let go of her middle and moved her arms to hold onto Elias.
Elias grinned, “Perhaps not, if the peach was the last thing to eat on the entire planet,” he teased. She offered to show him to some peach trees, and he rolled his eyes at her, shaking his head gently. “Mmm, that sounds like I’d have to move, and I’m comfortable here.” She asked for a Pegasus and he laughed, nodding. “Alright, I’ll find you a Pegasus.” He knew she was messing with him, perhaps trying to test out where his boundaries were, and he’d let her explore that as she saw fit. He was a quiet person when annoyed.
He listened, as she talked about contradicting herself, about wanting to learn trade—and then, about how nobody listens to her. He tilted her head up, so that he could meet her gaze, “I’m listening to you. I will listen to you.” Elias did not enjoy or appreciate the thought that she believed nobody listened to her… that she was truly not worth her voice because of her place in society, her gender. Niobe had shown him that a woman could be dangerous.
Elias found that she was no longer panicking, instead she was comfortable, breathing easier as he held her. She was a complex web, and he was going to tangle himself in her—or would she wind up tangled in his web instead? Only time would tell.
She’d hidden her face against his chest, taking comfort in his body, and he rested his chin atop her head. They were silent, as she pressed herself to him, taking comfort in being held, and he analyzed his own feelings over how holding her in this way made her feel. She felt like she was made to be in his arms, though, what woman wasn’t made to be in Elias’ arms? He truly wondered the answer to that question.
Then Athanasia was speaking again, asking him what he would do if the ‘almost’ of the throne did not happen. “I do not know, I suppose I would serve as an advisor to whomever does take the throne. But right now, I plan to ensure that the possibility of the throne never leaves my grasp.” His voice was easy, as he stood still, listening and thinking on her next question. “Well, one can never be certain of what makes someone a good king, or a good queen. Not until that person is given the chance to be in that position of power. But I think that you deserve to be queen one day, because you deserve to be treated like an equal, if not like a superior, to everyone that has ever made you feel inferior.”
He was guiding her out of the water, and she was clinging to him by the time they met the shore. He adjusted, to properly hold her to him, murmuring softly, “I don’t think I’ve ever heard ‘warm’ used as a compliment before, Athanasia.” He kept one of his arms around her, the other detangling her hair, gently.
Caressing the back of her head, he stroked her hair and shifted her in his grasp, the hand in her hair finding her face, thumb tracing her cheek.
Gently, he tilted her head back, and moved for a proper kiss. Gentle, soft, he saw no need to be forceful or to hold the kiss for very long, unless she indicated she wanted more in her response.

Athanasia was having fun as they spent time talking about peaches and Pegasus, his responses on being comfortable and telling her he would find her that horse really making her smile. It was a nice feeling, this new friend having a banter and letting her tease him without seeming to become annoyed with her. She would have gotten at least three people rolling their eyes at her in her family at her games. Asia found herself wanting the day to last longer, the more they spoke, she even found herself opening up to Elias.
As they spoke on being listened to, she didn't expect him to lift her chin to make her meet his gaze as Elias spoke of listening to her and that he would listen to her. For a moment, she imagined what it would be like to kiss someone. Though she never thought she would ever want to kiss someone, let alone this man before her. Why did she want to? The thoughts going through her head had Asia's cheeks turning red before she shook her head lightly. "I just meant that I can usually say whatever I want and no one will judge me, besides possibly being childish.. while you apparently get judged by everything you say. That must be stressful for you." Asia's gaze would show him just what she thought of that, how she didn't think it was very fair to him to not have that freedom. "Well, I will not judge you harshly for anything you say. You say you listen to me and will listen to me, well I offer you the same. No judgement." She wanted to offer him the freedom that she had, to be himself and speak his mind without worry of judgement or fault.
Athanasia could not explain how Elias spotted that she was starting to panic, he just seemed to know and when he moved, the build up started to melt away like the ice from winter mornings. Slowly but steadily, as she took her first deep breath, then another as she relaxed against his gentle hold. Elias seemed to have patience as she outright told him before that she would never get married. So Asia knew that he now knew that she would not agree to marrying him. That just wasn't in her future. Though, there were moments like this, that she wondered 'what if?' Elias was the first man that made her wonder just what it would be like, with him.
Curling into his tighter embrace, Athanasia hid away into his arms for the moment, allowing herself to trust someone else in her sanctuary. He said he was proud of her, even though he did not know her at all when she was fourteen, but he was still proud that she almost cut another man's finger off. If she wasn't so tired, she would have laughed at the irony of it all. Here she was, in a man's arms and somehow feeling safe even though she hated being touched, and telling said man that she maimed a man before. Athanasia had to admit that she liked being right where she was, wrapped in Elias' arms with his head resting on hers, made her feel secure and protected.
When they were talking, she noticed that he said 'almost' when he spoke of the crown, peaking her curiosity so she dared to ask. She liked how he did not seem to mind her questions, as she listened to his answers on what he would do if he did not get the throne and about his thoughts on what would make someone a good queen or king. She really liked that he thought she deserved to be queen, "Yeah, but that wouldn't happen unless all my brothers and my nephew died. As much as I want to beat them and prove I am better, I still don't want them to die." She still wasn't thinking about marriage, and the only other way would be to become queen of Colchis. And that would never happen because she would kill anyone who hurt her family.
They moved as one to the shore, Elias was holding Asia so snuggly against him, she could feel the firm muscles move as he moved. He didn't show it, but he had strength as he held her and lifted her further up the shore. They were completely free of the water as Asia commented on how warm he was. So when he mentioned at how he hadn't heard 'warm' used in a compliment, she laughed softly. She was enjoying his fingers running through her hair as he untangled the knots. "You keep this up, I might just fall asleep right here. Just letting you know that now."
She was putty in his grip now, relaxed and warm, even as they still were dripping wet from the lake. So even as his palm found her cheek, she didn't fight his touch as caressed her cheek. Athanasia felt like it was right, something about it, she was safe. She didn't realize what was happening, having never let anyone as close as she had this man, she didn't think about when Elias guided her to look at him. For a moment, the look in his eyes confused her as he lowered closer to Athanasia. The arm wrapped around her holding her in place and the hand on her cheek keeping still, Asia's eyes widened in surprise when Elias' lips found her own. She struggled at first, her muffled protest before she noticed how it made her feel. Elias was gentle as he took the lead while not forcing her. A tingle seemed to settle in her lips, like she was standing to close to lightning. The longer his lips pressed against hers, the more the feeling seemed to travel into her belly. Athanasia was so relaxed with Elias and following his lead, that she kissed him back, it wasn't until her mind caught up with her. She was having her first kiss, with Elias.
A squeak escaped her as she pulled away quickly, her hands instantly letting go of Elias as she covered her lips and tried to also cover her burning cheeks. Her eyes were wide in surprise and embarrassment as she wiggled in his hold to get free. "Are you hungry? I think I need to go hunt down some food. Do you want fish? Rabbit? Boar? I think I will try to go for all of them then we will have enough to eat for lunch. Yeah, I think that is what I will need to do." She was rambling, she knew it but could not stop herself from speaking so fast as she wiggled to put as much space between them so she can sort her own thoughts out. Finally her feet touched the ground and she managed to wiggle free. "I'll... I will.. I mean... I will go get food.." At that moment, she made sure to grab her dagger back and ran off to go get her bow and arrows.

Elias listened, studying the way her cheeks reddened as she tried to explain herself. He grinned, an earnest, grin with that charm he just couldn’t quite turn off. “You, Athanasia, are something else. Not too many would promise no judgement for the words that another wishes to impart.” It was an odd idea, considering that he might have the freedom to speak his mind around anyone but Niobe.
It was… interesting to see how long the princess would keep that promise to him.
She began to work her way down the line, on how she might become queen and he sighed softly at her, but kept his thoughts to himself. And then she was mumbling about how she may fall asleep in his arms, and he almost wished he’d let her. Instead, he kissed her.
She panicked at first, just for a second or two. But the longer the kiss was held in place, the more certain of herself she seemed to become. She kissed him back, following his lead, and then… she was pulling away, squeaking in alarm. He let her go, almost too easily, and studied her.
Cheeks flush, hair disheveled, she was quite adorable when she was flustered. “Hey, Athanasia. It’s okay,” he spoke gently, she began rattling off animals that she was going to hunt, and then she was free of his grasp entirely, claiming her dagger and rushing to get her bow and arrows.
He followed; his steps larger than hers. As she knelt to gather her bow and arrows, he reached for one of her hands. Fingers curling around her wrist, not tightly enough to really hurt her, but tightly enough to keep her in place, though if she wiggled hard enough, he’d release her—he didn’t want to bruise her or scare her.
“Athanasia. Look at me, it’s okay to be embarrassed, I should have asked first.” He knew her history with men, after all, how she felt about marriage—and he was guessing intimacy wasn’t high on the list of things that she enjoyed, either.
“Was that your first kiss?” He could tell it had been; the absolute surprise in her features after, the fact she’d been uncertain of what to do until it’d clicked into place. But he wasn’t going to outright call her on that. “I apologize. A good man would have checked first.” His words were smooth, even though he knew she’d enjoyed it, that she could have been coaxed for more, he could play the part of apologetic quite well when he had too. Especially when it came to taking a young woman’s first kiss—he had taken many firsts, from many women.

Athanasia didn't know how to react when Elias just grinned at what she was saying, claiming that she was something else. "Is that supposed to be a compliment? It almost didn't sound like one. Ok, I will correct what I said then, maybe that will be more understandable. I can offer this, unless you speak on killing my family or try to get me to be something that I am not, then I offer offer no judgements for anything else. Does that sound better?" Looking up at him, she gave him a sweet smile as she fought other thoughts that ran through her mind. She would not go there, that was not for her.
As they spoke, she still never considered marriage but she did admit that she wanted to be queen one day and tried to explain on how. To her, family was important and she didn't want them to die even though she also wanted to become better than them. She heard the soft sigh, it earned him a look that had her arching her brow at him as she could guess what he was thinking. She really didn't know for sure, just she could guess that Elias was thinking she missed something important that he was getting at. Shaking her head, they somehow pulled closer to one another.
Athanasia wondered if the fates tied their strings around them, pulling them closer together even when they are unsure. When she thought of running, she was pulled closer to him. Now almost asleep against his heart as she soaked in the warmth he gave her, she never would have guessed what happened next. It was like a dream as Elias' lips found hers. Panicking before accepting that this was very likely a dream, Asia followed his lead as the kiss deepened. The scent of him filled her nose, the taste of him, the sounds of their breathing melding together like wind and rain storms. It broke the spell she was under, letting her know that she was not dreaming at all. To which her only response was a squeak as she backed up quickly.
She didn't know what was worse, the fact that she was so flustered now, or that Elias was telling her it was okay. "I.. I'm fine.. so, I am going to go hunt.." Asia was quick to put as much distance between them as she listed things she was going to go hunt. Longer list meant that she would be separated from Elias for hopefully enough time that she could calm down. She had hoped that he would have stayed by the water, letting her go, but the sounds of his footsteps followed close to her own even as she all but jogged the entire way to the basket for her bow. If she got there first, she could run for the woods, she just needed to get there first.
She was almost there, Asia's fingers were almost able to wrap around her bow like a boat would need its anchor, but suddenly her wrist was wrapped in an iron-like grip that made sure she would not be able to run away like she planned. Looking up at Elias, she tugged on her arm as her cheeks blushed red again, making her scowl but she still hadn't looked at him. "Let go." Elias did not let her go though, telling her instead to look at him while telling her it was ok to be embarrassed. Athanasia still didn't look at him as she glared at the ground. How could she explain? How could she tell him that she thought she was dreaming?
All thoughts and wonder when he asked if it was her first kiss. That got her to look up at him, like a spooked deer that spotted a hunter, before her head did one almost imperceptible nod. "I... this.." Athanasia was trapped, what would happen if she admitted it? What would happen if she allowed even liking someone? "I know what happens after people like each other. I heard the stories. The pain. Even you called it a cage." She shook in his hold, the only show that she was admitting a fear of hers. That the stories and mixing in what happened to her made a storm inside of her, one made from her fear of the unknown. "I thought I was dreaming when you kissed me. I didn't think it was real." She called it a dream, her own non-admission that she did not hate it, because she didn't call it a nightmare. She had kissed Elias back.
Since Elias still had her wrist, she stepped away from the basket, but she didn't try to pull from his hold. Instead she put the cliff rocks against her back as she leaned against the solid natural wall. "I... I didn't want you to stop, Elias.. but what is this? I've only known you a few days. You live in Athenia. Just, I do not understand this.."

You live in Athenia. Just, I do not understand this.."
He'd asked her if that was her first kiss, and her eyes widened. She was afraid, spooked, and she gave the slightest of nods. He listened as she explained—that she knew what happened when someone liked someone else. “Well, do you think your mother lives in a cage, Athanasia?” He tilted his head, she was shaking in his grasp, but no longer trying to escape him. Not that he would have let her get far.
“Not every relationship ends up in pain, ends up with a cage,” he murmured softly, taking a step toward her. He’d reach with his free hand to stroke her cheek, “Not every man wants to take away your independence, your power.” She admitted that she thought she had been dreaming when he had kissed her, and he chuckled softly. “Well, I’ve never been told that I induce dreaming before.” He teased gently, with a playful grin. “But it’s good to know.”
She pressed herself to the cliff, and he stepped in front of her, bracing his weight with the hand that was not holding her wrist on the rough terrain of the cliff wall. “You know, sometimes it’s fun to be impulsive.” He commented, leaning to kiss the top of her head, “Because sometimes you’re going to be impulsive, whether you want to be or not.”
She brought up the fact that he lived in Athenia, and he arched a brow. “Sweet girl, I’m quite rich. I can live in Athenia and afford to travel to Colchis.” He stated the words with ease and confidence, because it was more or less true. He could come to Colchis on business trips; and make seeing her a part of those trips. “There’s letters, festivals to attend between both kingdoms. I’m a busy man, Athanasia, but for you…” He bit his lip, he could already hear Niobe calling his bullshit. “…I’d make time.”
Some part of him wondered if he would really make time for her—and on some level he knew he would. She would be a trophy to present to the Senate, when the time to take the throne came. A princess, a marriage-crafted alliance with Colchis.
Some bonds are tighter than blood.
He released her wrist, to reach with that hand to tilt her head back, “Why don’t you come visit me, when you’re in Athenia? You said you had an invitation already. Allow me to spoil you with some of the finest wares in my homeland, show you my favorite places.” His thumb brushed across her mouth, slowly dragging over her lips.
“I like you, sweetheart. And I’d like to give you a throne someday, give you every ounce of power that you dare to desire. But I’m okay with letting you lead. As slowly or as quickly as you would like to go.” With those words, his other hand came to rest against the cliff wall, effectively locking her in place with his arms—though she could easily duck underneath his arms.
“I like getting the things that I want. And I’m willing to bide my time. I’m a very patient man.”

Elias had asked Asia if she thought her mother was in a cage, watching her every reaction. Why did he seem to know how to read her? Why could she not hide from him, when it was so easy for her to hide from everyone else? Elias seemed to be able to see right through her to her very thoughts, and Athanasia was not sure how she felt about that. "She never seems anything but happy unless she is annoyed with me. It seems like she would prefer me to be in a cage sometimes. She wants me to be a proper lady, less 'wild' and not so much like my brothers." Asia was still in his grasp, but she wasn't afraid of Elias in the respect that he would hurt her. She was afraid of what she would do the longer she was around him. He was mesmerizing as he spoke of not every relationship ending up in pain or a cage. That not every man wants to take away her independence or power. Asia looked down at where they were linked as she spoke just as quietly as Elias was, unsure what he would say to the things she heard. "That is not what the servants told me as I was growing up. I would hear them also talking to other women about their relationships. They seemed so happy, but somehow over time, it was like something changed. They weren't as happy. They would tell me that it wasn't like they thought. That their guy would leave them for another woman when they were done or that they would hit them if they didn't do something right."
Athanasia kept still when Elias stepped forward and touched her cheek, pulling her gaze back to his when she admitted that she felt like she was dreaming as he kissed her. Elias's response made her scrunch her nose at him in frustration, "To be fair I was warm and almost asleep as you held me to where I was practically weightless. It didn't feel.. real." She didn't want to admit that she wanted to kiss him earlier, so she thought her mind just brought it to something she could dream of. Stepping back to lean against the cliff, Athanasia was not surprised when Elias followed her as he placed his free hand against the wall by her head.
He was surrounding her again, like a cage but made out of himself instead of iron or gold. Would she mind a cage of his arms? Would he always be there or would he take what he wanted and leave like the servant girls said men do? Elias was certainly a man, that was for sure, she could feel tingles travel from the top of her head to her toes when he kissed the top of her head again. As Athanasia admitted that she did not want him to stop, she was also confused about his impulsive comment. Did Elias want more kisses? Should she go for it? Asking what this was between them, she did note that Elias didn't answer that one as he jumped to himself being in Athenia. His ease and confidence made her eye him to see if he was lying. Asia trusted Elias up to this point but now she was unsure if she could trust her own judgements when it came to him. As if the gods and Elias wanted to prove just how weak he made her, Elias had to go bite his lip as he was talking about making time for her. At that moment, she dared and since he was so close to her from leaning over her, Asia stood on her tiptoes and stole a kiss from Elias. It was quick, just a peck, but she did something that she wanted to do. Afraid, but somehow Elias gave her the courage to push that boundary. "I would not say no to being able to speak with you more and spend time. Moments like at the festival and now, they were fun"
Elias let go of her wrist and grabbed her chin to make her meet his gaze as he tilted her head back. Asia watched him as he lowered to meet her gaze and he asked her to visit him when she was in Athenia. "Lord Panos of Marikas invited me, because of his granddaughter, Lady Daniil of Marikas. So we can possibly become friends. I like her as one so far." Why did she tell him that? Athanasia wasn't sure what spell he was weaving, making her want to open up to him, but she did. "I would like to visit you, since you promised to show me your favorite places. I will hold you to any and all promises you make to me." Now she did smile, it was cheeky as she pointed out that she would make him follow anything he promised her.
Asia's smile faded when Elias touched her lips, dragging his thumb across them as he told her in a way that she could not pretend to misunderstand. He liked her. He wanted to give her a throne and make her his queen. That he would let her pick their pace. Elias let go of her chin and now placed his hand against the wall, surrounding her with both of his arms, just like the cage she compared him to not moments before. Strangely she did not hate the idea that if it was him, anyone else, she would not even let them find her safe place deep in the Colchian woods. Taking a shaky breath, Athanasia studied him, daring to find the lie.
His last words make her shiver, though she doesn't know if it was in fear... or something else. "What would you do," pausing a moment Asia lightly bit her bottom lip in thought as she debated asking but her curiosity won, "what would you do once you got what you wanted?"

His last words make her shiver, though she doesn't know if it was in fear... or something else. "What would you do," pausing a moment Asia lightly bit her bottom lip in thought as she debated asking but her curiosity won, "what would you do once you got what you wanted?"
Elias listened, nodding thoughtfully. “That makes sense. But darling, all you have is brothers’, you’re going to be wild.” He grinned down at her, “I’m sure you clean up nicely, when you’re not tossing fruit at people, or running through the woods.” He didn’t mind what she wore—or didn’t wear.
She began to speak, quietly this time, and he settled for listening to her; he’d promised he’d hear her out, whatever she wanted to say. “Mmm. I know the type.” His reputation listed him as that type; and he was that type. But she didn’t know that, and he was not the sort of man to get caught. And he never raised a hand against a woman. “Terrible, really. Niobe was in a similar position as those women—though she was a slave, before I purchased her.” He stated this easily. “I nursed her to health, I see that no male raises a hand against her,” he smirked at the thought of having to step in; Niobe was the type of woman who was trained to take care of herself. “And I gave her freedom, when she was healthy and no longer required the protection of the Stravos name lording over her.”
He paused, trailing his fingers across her cheek. “So no, sweetheart. I’m not like most men. I like my women with confidence, independence, I like giving them power and seeing them use it.” And Niobe had power; she was the shadow that ensured everything he was ran smoothly.
She brought up the fact he’d teased her, about thinking she was dreaming next and he chuckled softly. “Mmm. Do I need to kiss you again, then, to reassure you that it was real?” He raised an eyebrow, smirking slightly as he watched her.
She was eyeing him, searching his features for a tell that would give away the lies. He was good, though, training as a politician and as a man that regularly worked his way through the women of Athenia with no regard for their relationship statuses keeping his lying antics securely locked away. And she must have believed him, because next he was presented with a quick peck, a stolen kiss. He grinned down at her, at ease as she revealed that she would like to continue to see him.
“So, what you’re saying is, you like me.” He teased, softly. The boyish grin didn’t leave his face, as he studied her. He was wearing her down, convincing her to ignore every instinct in her body that she had, that was telling her to flee. He wasn’t a threat; and he was glad she was letting her guard down. It’d make everything else easier.
“Ah. Panos. I know Daniil. She’ll be a good friend for you.” He was glad to hear she was making friends outside of Colchis; it meant when he had her, she’d not be entirely alone. She accepted his invitation to visit with him and he grinned again. “Hah. Alright, Athanasia. I’ll keep every promise that I make to you—ask away.” An easy promise, he was a liar through and through. A snake in the grass that you wouldn’t see until he was already sinking his fangs into your ankle; and he was already sinking his fangs into this pretty young thing. He was in her head, he was picking her apart.
Her smile faded as he brushed his thumb over her lips, stating in extremely frank terms that he liked her; what he wanted from her. She was searching his features again, and he met her gaze. “Well, once I had my throne and you by my side, I suppose I would spoil you as a queen deserves to be spoiled.”
One of his hands left the wall, to settle against her hip. “You’d attend Senate meetings, you would have a say in the kingdom and how it is run,” his lips curved in a smile. “We’d spend every day together, every night you would scream my name—or, perhaps you’ll have me screaming yours…” He chuckled softly.
“Eventually, we would have a family to raise and look after. A kingdom to run together.” His words were a woven fantasy of possibilities, some of it an outright lie at this moment in time, a promise he would not keep but once he had her, she couldn’t escape. Not easily, at least.
“I would devote myself to my kingdom and to my wife,” he murmured, gaze focused on hers. And as he squeezed her hip, he lowered for another kiss, a deeper kiss than his previous one, fingers curling into the flesh of her hip, and to the rough cliff behind of her.
“To your pleasure, your happiness, to ensuring you want for nothing—from affection and power to the material items that you might desire.” He purred the words in her ear, as he pressed a kiss just below her earlobe, murmuring, “I would devote myself to loving you, once I had you.”

Elias seemed to know what she wanted to hear, as he accepted her wildness that her mother claimed she had too much of. It made her smile, along with his comment on possibly cleaning up nice. Though when he brought up the fruit, Asia could not stop the chuckle. They would not let that go any time in the near future, if ever. As they spoke on the things that she told him, the stories that she heard other women went through, Athanasia watched Elias as he admitted to knowing the type. She was listening quietly as he spoke of someone named Niobe. Asia could not help but wonder who she was. "Who is Niobe?" She remembered a beautiful woman with him on the day that she met him, when the peach sailed through the air and met his face that had splattered everywhere beautifully. It truly was a funny memory that Athanasia planned to hold onto for as long as possible. Her next question was hesitant as her curiosity won out, "Is she your love?"
Asia focused on Elias' touch on her cheek, wondering just what he was thinking and why he seemed to like invading her space and touching her as much as he could. Elias stated that he was not like the other men, and how he liked his women, earning himself a smile from Asia. It was nice hearing him say that when she thought he would like some of the more proper types. He seemed like he was when he freaked out so much over some fruit on his clothes and that woman helping clean him off.
As they spoke of her comment on dreaming, making Asia feel like she needed to explain why she felt why she thought that, Elias' suggestion had her blushing as she pressed up against the rock wall. Her mind went blank for a moment as she tried to remember to breathe. There was no where she could go, but at this moment if she was honest with herself, she really didn't want to. His smirk and look made it feel like she had a thousand butterflies in her stomach but also overheated. Maybe it was time to go swimming again to cool off? "A-again?"
As Asia listened to Elias, she wondered if she could dare, before jumping and stealing a kiss of her own. It was small and a simple peck, but the flash of fire that seemed to fill her veins and then to see his smile as he made it a statement that she liked him as well. "At this moment, though, I still don't know you other than the 3 days we have seen each other. Is it possible for us to like each other in such a short time?" Her mind was foggy with sweet dreams of 'what ifs'. What if she allowed him closer? What if she allowed herself to really like him? What if she actually pondered the possibility of marriage as long as it involved him? Would she be happy with him? Or would it be the pain that she so feared?
As they spoke of Athenia and where she got her invite, Athanasia smiled to hear that Daniil would be a good friend, just like she thought. When they spoke of promises, she grinned with Elias as he asked what promises Asia had that she wanted him to keep. "Just that you would show me your favorite spots. I showed you mine, well one of them. So when I go there, it will be your turn." She gave him a smile, wondering just what he was thinking.
Elias was so good at distracting Asia, with one sweep of his thumb over her lip, her mind went blank as he spoke of liking her. Athanasia dared to ask what Elias would do when he got what he wanted. She wasn't expecting the reply he gave her. He spoke of spoiling her if she was his queen. "But, back to that comment you made a while ago when you spoke of almost.. if you didn't get your throne, that would mean that you wouldn't want me too..?" A statement that she ended as a question because she would swear that she could not think clearly around him. It was like he stole her thoughts and gave her new ones that were as cloudy as a sky on a rainy day.
Pressure and warmth bloomed at her hip as Elias placed his hand there, again where no one has ever touched her before. Elias smiled as he spoke of her attending senate meetings and spending every day with him and every night with him. Screaming his name and he screams hers. The thought had a shiver travel up her spine and then down again, creating the feeling of hot embers in her belly at the thought. Asia was unsure if she liked the idea, but she sure didn't hate it. She felt like there was not enough air to breathe suddenly, and they were outside.
Athanasia was slipping into the fantasy Elias was weaving, dreaming of a family of her own and wondering what that was like. It shouldn't be too bad since her own mother had five kids, right? As he spoke of devoting himself to his kingdom and his wife, his lips claimed her own. It was a claiming as Elias deepened the kiss, demanding that she open to him, and Asia found herself complying under his demands as he kissed her. She was glad that there was a wall behind her, even though the rough surface stung in places from the force of his pushing, otherwise she was sure she would have fallen to the floor at that moment for how weak she felt in her knees. The hand on her hip gripping tighter as he held her in place. Strangely she liked the rougher moments, it ignited something in her that had her wanting to explore it with him. Just as Elias pulled away from the kiss to whisper in her ear, leaving her breathless for a moment, she almost missed his words 'once I had you.' Athanasia placed a palm against Elias' chest as she pushed him back from her and kept her hand there so the space stayed between them as she caught her breath. "What do you mean by, 'once I had you'? Because if you are thinking that this will go further than kissing, when you just got my very first kiss, you have another thing coming, Elias."
Asia could still feel the rocks digging in with the pressure of Elias' weight from his hand pressing her hips back. She didn't move his hand, but she did stop the kissing and his seduction as she pushed him back enough to look right at him. "I think.. we should go." Sliding out from under his arm, Athanasia gathered up their things, handing Elias his stuff and turned to leave.
They separated at the forest's edge, with Asia running home. There, she found the little rock she stole from the man's pocket. Touching her lower lip, remembering the kiss he stole, anger filling her at the thought that he stole it from her. It did not matter that she liked how it felt, so the fates were true in guiding her to steal whatever this rock was to him. Getting something to write with and a small scroll, Athanasia wrote her little ransom note, letting him know that someone had his rock, and they knew it was important.
"Take that, thief."
