Kind Lady Selene,
Thank you for your letter. You have been well informed in my actions and your letter found me well through your friend. As crown prince I find myself on diplomatic missions to all three Grecian kingdoms on a regular basis. I am in Athenia as I write this, dealing with a politically sensitive issue that I shall not bore you with the details of. Instead, to the meat of your previous letter...
Your words of gratitude, though pleasing to hear, are by no means required. While I can personally appreciate the joy of having your siblings safe - I have many of my own for whom I feel protective - your thanks is unnecessary. As are your statements regarding - as you call it - my courage or selflessness. If it helps you feel any less indebted, life as a soldier has trained me always to protect others above myself; when this philosophy is shared by my brothers in arms it is simply an effective survival philosophy over martyrdom.
But enough of dark talk of death and destruction. Perhaps it is my primary occupation or my lineage but I prefer to look to the future more than to the past. I hope that your family are recovering from the shock of the events at the festival, that your sister is recovering well from her ordeal and that you might pass on my overdue congratulations to your other sister Lady Theodora and her betrothed.
With my journeys between the kingdoms, I find most of my correspondence to be in person, so forgive my the inadequacies of my letter-writing, for I shall end my missive here.
All the best to your family... and to you, Lady Selene.
