Several copies of the same letter, sent with 10 different runners across all of Greece. Each letter is addressed simply to ‘Brother’ with no obvious signs of other intentions. Each runner has the directions to give the letter to Lord Iason or his family, should they be found.
Brother,
I hope the weather finds you well. I know it is turning in the mountains, but hopefully the snow holds off long enough for this letter to find you in good health. I have yet to find an opportunity to make it home, as I have been occupied in the city for quite some time now. My new wife is anxious to come see where I call home, and I miss sitting with you by the fire, reading like we used to. Hopefully, this letter reaches you before night fall, else you’ll have to read it by candlelight.
Phillipa sends her best regards. She begged me to include a letter of her own, but she was unable to sit still long enough to put anything to paper. Add that to the fact that she cannot yet write and you have the very reason I send only my response. But fear not, she does send her love and begs you to come back into the city as soon as you can.
The city seems to have calmed, and trading appears to have steadied back out again. There is a bit of tension in the city with the recent death of the King, but it seems that the Kingdom is find its feet once more. I must confess I have yet to fully recover from my own mourning of his death, as you know he was like a father to me. I hope to honor his memory as best I can, but for now, I do my duty and serve the people of Athenia.
As you know, their best interest has always been my own.
Write back soon, as I am anxious to hear from you one last time before the snow blocks in the path down the mountain and you are no longer able to speak with me. We are well here.
Give mother my love.
