The grand abode of the Balthasar Bélu is constructed meticulously, with formidable square columns lining its entrance. It is a structure of impeccable craftsmanship, fortified with robust stone and a utilitarian façade that does not quite do justice to the wealth of the home within. The interior courtyard is perhaps not as expansive as others, yet its size does not matter when it is equally beautiful in its floral decoration: grapevines hang from the sides of the building, and lush palms and fig trees create a welcoming yet shaded space for those who enter. The home itself boasts lofty ceilings where voices echo easily, yet there is many a spot for private conversation should it be needed. Everything within always appears clean and new, as though to highlight economic prowess and leave any guests impressed.
